What Are You Talking About?
"Well, now that you're awake, I'd like to ask you a few questions." Hatori started as he pulled out a cigarette.
"Sure, but only if you don't smoke." Sara said, then noticed the odd look on his face. "It's a disgusting habit, bad for the smoker's health and the health of anyone near the smoker." Sara said simply.
"I see." Hatori fell silent for a moment, then looked at her. "Sara, tell me, what do you remember about this morning."
"Well, I woke up and got dressed. I was irritated because Mom was harping on me to hurry. She was worried that I might end up being late. So about 15-20 minutes after getting out of bed and dressing, I left the house. I drove of coarse, and I got to the ballroom on time. Alicia was the one who was late." Sara paused for a moment as she resettled herself in the bed.
"Once Alicia got there, we started to decorate. I mean it _is_ Junior Prom and it _is_ supposed to be special. Poor Alicia, she was soo stressed. No one was helping her. I'm a good worker, so I knew she'd really appriciate it if I helped out a little. I don't think me falling off an 18 foot ladder really helped too much, though. Knowing me, the sign I was hanging probably fell down after I bounced." Sara laughed at her own joke, knowing that with her luck, it was probably true.
"Anyway, when I woke up, I was here... In Tohru's body, living with Shigure, Kyo, and Yuki." Sara looked at Hatori, not really seeing him, letting her mind sink into thoughtfulness while Hatori digested everything.
Sara stared in front of her, letting her eyes unfocus as they sometimes do when she relaxes. Sara's breath came slower as her mind started to unravel. In the back of her deteriorating consciousness, Sara recognized an odd, slightly haunting melody.
Bells, high notes on a piano, slowly pushing forward. Her mind snapped back into place with such force and suddenness, that her head shot forward from it's sagging position on her chest. Her whole body jolted with the realization that she'd heard that melody before.
Chills ran up her spine. "Hatori, did you hear that?" She asked urgently, but his blank look gave her the answer she needed. "That music... Didn't you hear it?" When Hatori answered, Sara realized he thought she was losing her mind.
