A New State
Yessiree Bob! There is a 52nd state in this country-- that is the State of Anxiety! I've been living there a long time, and I could be governor! (move over Arnold Schwarzenegger, Anxiety is bigger than California!) I would run on the Shake Rattle and Roll ticket, and would make campaign promises of one bed for everyone to hide under!

Kuroneko: Better make that a really big bed, because it gets crowded under here !

Kenshin: But I thought the closet was the most desireable place for hiding!

Jet: It is, until Vash or Mamma start going crazy in there and start running in circles! The floor now has a rut in it! The rest of us get stuck with only the bed to hide under.

Spike:Ugh! The junk under there...

Faye: If there is any money under there-- DIBS! It's mine!

Here's a picture of a stressed egret to go with today's post:

This Sunday the painter is coming to evaluate the outside of the house, and hopefully paint it soon. It's been 10 years, so it is due. I live in a stucco house, so there are some special preparations and paint, but it will be getting done. Meanwhile, I keep taking bags of stuff to Goodwill. It will take a while, but at least there is some busy work to do, and I like seeing areas get cleaned out. My back and sciatica make me have to go slow, but I'll get there. Big M is away.. so things will have to go slow. He wanted me to have the inside painted too, but I told him, not until shelves have been taken down, and repairs made-- painting the inside is the last thing that happens. Still don't know if I will be going to Chicago 6 mos - 1 yr, but we figure, doesn't hurt to fix up the house as if I were going to move.

Looking forward to AX in July!

Wishing a wonderful day to good friends, and hope you never move close to living in the state of anxiety....

The Heat is On...
Weatherwise, we have gone from 0-60! It has been in the 90's and will stay that way until October. Oh, well at least we had a spring. I can tell its been hot, because the ducks have been hiding under the trees. When I see flamingos on the duck pond , we are in real trouble. Not much going on, I'm just feeling a bit tired today... so this will just be a brief post-- nothing wrong, but a little tired. What anime are you watching-- I saw an episode of Descendants of Darkness and it looked really interesting. Well-- see you tomorrow (I got to get to sleep earlier tonite!)

Love to wonderful friends!

Niagara Falls!
That was the punchline to an old 3 Stooges routine--- slowly I turn, step by step...if you can get to see it, its silly, but funny. Well some good news today, I will be getting increased permanent hours! (throws confetti and blows party favor) I have 29 permanent hours, and now it will go to 35 hours-- if that goes well, then it could go to full time!

The 2 boxes I took out of the home office have not been emptied yet. My back gave a little warning that the shelves were enough. So that will be done later. But, no major flare up, so I guess I did it right. To get motivated to do a little I put 2 clutter boxes in the TV room, it will get done a little faster...(looks like 2 baskets of stuff to get shredded, or donated)

Kuroneko: Boxes of junk! And right in my comfy TV spot...

Vash: Huh? Boxes? Oh no, not me...(runs for the closet)

The home office is quite bad (its really been a storage room the whole time we lived there-- there are no basements in So Cal, and no one uses the attics either because it gets so hot). Do you all have a "storage" room?

Well, the oil on the road took almost 24 hours to clear up. Then yesterday, a weird news piece. A man was released from jail, saw a rescue ambulance parked near a hospital... to celebrate his freedom, he took the ambulance and raced about on the freeways, sirens flashing and warning alarms blaring. Everyone pulled aside because no one knew it was a joy ride. They caught the guy, and he will be returning to jail. This gets entered into "not a very bright idea" ... One of the things you can count on in So Cal, someone getting a pretty dumb idea.

I still want to see Over the Hedge! (starts stomping feet). Thanks, Kitsune Tsuki for letting me know that it is a written cartoon. From the movie trailers, the turtle wearing a turtle neck looks so cute. I really enjoy turtles, they just plod along, and go their own way. They don't seem to care how fast they go, and stop when they need to. I should really take a lesson from them.

Wishing a day of clear skies, and comfortable breezes for wonderful friends.... here is a silly picture from when I went to a summer BBQ at a friends house-- we all thought it was a large majestic bird when we saw it gliding, until it landed....

Gridlock
If anyone has ever driven California Freeways, you are well aware they all interconnect, often at multiple points, and they is no such thing as service roads or back roads for many of the highways. This morning, a tanker spilled crude at a triple intersection, and traffic for about 50 miles around was snarled ! Half my co-workers were late! I wonder what it looked like from the air-- probably like a big caterpillar! I was not on the computer this weekend, trying to do battle with the home office (AKA the Crap Room). I have milk crates for shelved, and they are starting to cave-- since they are screwed into the wall, it will take some doing to get them out (I will get a handyman) but first all the stuff has to be moved-- books mostly , and I can only move a couple at a time. But , wait, is that a clear shelf I see? Nah, has to be a mirage, but ...yes! Shelf ho!

Today I discovered a sad thing-- that plagiarism has struck a friend. I really want to say something about plagiarism: it stinks in many ways. It hurts the real artist who spend time and effort to create something, only to have someone take it away. The thief is a coward! I have something to say to those who plagiarize-- anything you do is suspect of being fake-- that includes college applications, resumes for jobs, and whatever you tell to friends and family. I wanted to leave this message on the site of the alleged theif, however they pulled their site off My O. I think it would have been better to publicly apologize, but I feel this all only proves that thiefs are cowards. Just remeber, what you do will come back to haunt you when you least expect it. Thieves really anger me! What do you all think ?

Well , its the return of the work week, so back I go. Hope that your week is pleasant, and may wonderful friends see a big return of the sweetness they give!

Love and peace! (no biscotti- kitchen closed for the holiday!)

the end of the week
Well, the weird weather continues... it was drizzling this morning, and rain is predicted for Saturday. This is pretty strange for California. I thought I would add this picture, I know I have posted it before, but I kinda like this one.
is one:

Drogonnava-- thanks for the idea of taking graphics class. I have to get some things at the camera shop and they have had lessons for photoshop in the past. Keep drawing the chibis, they are cute.

Kitsune: ::bings cookies:: working on holidays is the pits! Mine was moved to Labor Day. Hope that there is some way to have fun then.

Yensid: I really can identify with no energy and things getting out of control. slowly I am just taking a lot of things to Goodwill to make life simpler..

CosmicSailor- Simplicity reduces stress, so I am trying to simplify my life-- first at home to boil things down to simplest possible. I think the old fashioned push mower is so cool, that's a sound from long ago to me when things seemed simpler and gentler.

Looks like the rain will try to make some changes in my plans-- with even gentle rain, deserts have flash floods, so I think the desert would be out. Maybe I can sketch a little, a little work in the house, but not the whole weekend. I will definitely put up more photos to the image site when I get home. Thank God no holiday service this time. And when I get a holiday, next time I will take off a day when I finish (working 14 days straight is bad !) Well, lets see what I can find. Big M is in Chicago-- we didn't know I would get the break until a couple of days ago.

One More Day
Thank you, wonderful friends for your encouragement. I saw a doctor yesterday, and got a powerful antiinflamatory injection which gave relief. (toradol-- they use it after surgery, and the great thing it is not a narcotic, so I stay alert, but relieved of pain) I was worried about the leg pain being a clot (DVT) but was told it was just the sciatica.

Stress is high at work Kitsune, CosmicSailor, and Yensid you hit it on the head! I was so hoping a new job in a growing department would do the trick, but no go.---
So I have had one bad case of the sour grapes and grumps. Big M and I have been apart for a bit due to jobs, but I felt I was going to get that on. Well, I'll still work on the house, but I am going to start to think about making changes I like (after all, I live there full time-- not sure how long because I am on the waiting list for Chicago supposedly 6-12 mos.
The Bolsa Chika bird sanctuary is not too far from the house, so during the holiday, I may take a day, pack sandwiches, and do some photography, or consider going to the craziest place on Earth-- Venice Beach! I have not been to the desert in a long time, but that's a trip where it is a good idea to bring someone else. Big M is in Chicago and this makes it hard (can't fly as often as I want-- money ... and driving that long takes too much time, I don't have that much)

So, I guess I'll see how the weekend goes, Maybe I can find someone who does massage near the house because that would probably be helpful. Meanwhile, tomorrow I'll sit in warm water, and set up the DVD player far away and watch some anime.

What are you all doing for Memorial Day? How are things going in your neck of the woods? Anyone coming to AX? I'll get somethings down to Goodwill-- I was able to take some light knick knacks, and then find a painter for the house. I like to do things myself, so I might go down to Home Depot this weekend to see if they are teaching something, like laying tile so something. Do you like to work with your hands" What do you like to do? I might also see if I can read more about computer graphics and try to color a sketch I did.

Hoping this weekend is terrific for everyone. If I go to a park, I think I am going to bring a body pillow to lay on. You all are so super--- want to share some photos today (still have to upload more) May you have a great holiday weekend!

This is Fred, the Swan Goose-- he likes to bite shoelaces and pants cuffs!

And part of the garden at Mimi's where I like to go for breakfaston the weekend

just another day WARNING RANT!
Well, things sure feel so not special since I did not get the job-- there's all the time in the world to get chores done, now I'm feeling like "why bother ?" Big M is in Chicago, my friends are busy during the weekend. At work , still stuck with part time. I again announced to my boss, with witnesses, that I want to increase my hours. Let's see if there is a response. Sigh, just not much good to say today. And when I was headed home on the long drive last night, the sciatica flared so bad, I turned around to come back to use the standby room. I guess I'll try to see someone today about the sciatica. It's really starting to interfere big time.

Thanks for sticking around, this has been a hard time for me. My friends, you are simply the best.. But right now, things just feel hard, so I will keep the negative posts short. Right now I feel like this picture:

work,work,work......

At least I have the next 2 holidays off. Catch you tomorrow.

Rain
Just when I thought it was good to go out, during the weekend I had one of the worst sciatica flare ups ever! (I think it may be the late rainstorm) So I spent most of the weekend half sitting, half laying, not able to do much but watch TV. Whoever invented DVD's should be blessed! So I watched Samurai Champloo-- I didn't even want to get up and change the disk..it hurt to stand and worse to walk-- it got a little better after the weekend-- I could walk around a bit so I came into work, but GADZOOKS! my leg, butt, and back. Oh, well--

Not alot to say after such an exciting weekend-- Read a little more of Shinjuu (it really is a good book to hold my attention under those conditions). Well, sometimes after a big flare, it goes away for awhile... I am just going to concentrate and make it one of those times.

A good day for wonderful friends-- sorry I'm sour this morning, but it will pass. Hope you all can get something good from this little picture:

Love and peace!

Friday!
Well, its Friday. I am exhausted-- the job has been very busy, and all the emotional tsunamis this week were the icing on the cake. At least today the paperwork will be completed so I won't have to stay late. I think I will go the movies this weekend-- I would like to see Over the Hedge. I thought Shrek was a hoot, and I loved the turtle from the previews. I will still fix up the house-- don't know what will happen in 6 mos, and I am going to get a new chair. If I sit too long without enough padding, my sciatica screams--- that is a nerve that goes from the lower back to the feet-- and the pain is not only in the back, but can be very severe in the butt! When it strikes at work, all I can do is make strange faces-- I get up and walk around a lot to try to prevent it! I guess with my initials (KSMAS) , it was meant to happen!

This is a picture from Egmont Key-- this is Fort Dade, built for the Spanish American War-- kinda like the shadows from the palms...

Well, wacking the mushrooms, weeds did get rid of some of the frustration. Now to call the Gopher Patrol to get the gophers to move... did anyone ever see Caddyshack with Bill Murray and the little dancing gopher? I think those gophers in my backyard are having a big party underground! (just have to keep an eye out for confetti coming out of the hole!)

You all are wonderful! Hoping that you have a great weekend, and may your yards never be invaded by gophers!

Love and peace, biscotti and....(swipe) Too late! Vash just swiped the donut box!

Kuroneko: As long as nobody takes my cat food...

Ein: DIBS!

Still cloudy inside (WARNIG_ THIS IS A LONG ONE !)
The fun never ends-- Big M got back from Europe, (he lives in Chicago) and when I tried to call him, the phone was broken! I am walking around a bit numb, and am starting to get irritated about the "well, we anticipate some people retiring in a year---- if you could just hold on".I'm struggling with trying to keep positive, but all the little stuff is beginning to get my temper starting to flare and see things in a real sarcastic fashion.Feeling ambivalent really takes a toll.and makes what should be simple more of a mess.. Maybe I'll feel a little better once I get to talk to Big M. But this just makes me a little jaded at this time... sort of like the commercial "Its not nice to fool Mother Nature"... GRRRR!

Kuroneko (streaks around the corner full speed ahead to the closet, jumps in,slams and locks the door): I GOT DIBS ON THE CLOSET! YOU ALL BETTER RUN NOW!

Vash: I guess that means no donuts for breakfast?

Kenshin: This one thinks we won't need the gardener on Monday-- one sword is missing, and the Mamma Vash has it!

Jet: Hey Spike-- I thought YOU had the temper ! Man, watch Mamma wail on the grass!

Spike and Faye: We're way ahead of you! (shoots lock off closet, and both run in and slam the door)

But my wonderful friends , you all really help a lot ! Your comments really do help .. I wanted to go home yesterday, but I stayed, and (groan) ended up doing paperwork until 9:30 last night. I wanted to watch Law and Order--- AND THEN FELL ASLEEP FOR THE LAST 10 MIN! Well, the weekend is coming.. Time to focus on the gophers, and getting my house painted. Time to put this prolonged mess aside, and let it be. sigh.

I love you guys!

Kitsune: Thanks for the basket! I needed that!

Spooky Katie: Yup-- it gets tempting to just walk out sometimes!

Conneryalexis: ::feeling the rainbows trying to break through:: Thanks for the rainbows, they do help ease things!

Yensid: Long distances from ones other half are really hard.. guess I am going to have to find a way. House cleaning or chores just seem pointless in a way...

CosmicSailor: Sail on with your art! Its supposed to rain this weekend, but that might be a good day to do some photography.

Love and peace, and hugs!
