Waka waka waka
So-- what else to start the day but sound effects. When the clock springs forward, I just stay in place. Woke up late, its just hard to catch up. I want that hour back! I did not get time to upload photos from the weekend-- but I do have one for today. Any one else have trouble with Daylight Savings time. Well , I guess it is nose to the grindstone again... WORK remember is a 4 letter word (so is BOSS !) I'll try to get to sites later. Hope your day is better than mine today. HUGs to good friends~!

Birds in the Bellfry
If someone gave ME the bird...I'd smile and ask "Polly wanna cracker". For someone who doesn't know me, they'd probably be stepping away carefully... This comment , as my friends know, is because I have 2 very crazy parrots. Today the little parrot pulled apart a toy that has a whiffle ball with a bell in it. He's been bopping the thing around and playing soccer! He is very pleased with himself.

Does anyone play Mah Jonng (solitaire or otherwise). I just learned how to play, and it is quite addicting. The fun thing is the chat that goes on while playing. One day, someone commented that her child came home with a bird. He had apparently traded his sandwich for the bird. Other players were musing what to call the little bird. The player who told the story thought Rascal would be a great name, when someone piped up to name the bird Samich--! Whoever came up with that thought was a real ham! LOL

Kuroneko: Oh, no -- don't get Vash started up ...

Vash:Sandwiched are nice, but where's the donuts? You mean I did all those chores, and NO DONUTS!

Jet: you mean I cooked all morning, and the DONUTS ARE GONE?

Kuroneko: (purring contentedly) Remember, no one would suspect the cat!

NEW SKETCH... It's Daylight Savings Time-- I forgot to set the clock ahead.. What did Vash forget? click to see I"m just silly today because I got some sleep!

Spike: Yeah, right!

Kenshin: (turning red, so politely trying not to laugh.. runs out of the room)

Spike: Hey Kenshin, don't mind it. Mamma isn't "just silly" when she's rested. She's plain nuts!

Jet: Nuts.. cashews or walnuts?

Vash : Don't like nuts, use cinnamon.

Spike: This whole place is nuts!

Kuroneko: One more cooking comment, and I will faint.

Kenshin: Yes, this one knows, the yolks on you , cat.!

Hope that the weekend sparkled for you! Love and peace!

Its been raining, and that makes getting stuff out of closets to Goodwill a challenge. Time for the big clean. The ultimate challenge of course is my "home office", known as the Official Junk Room. Mail, forms, storage all gets tossed there. I started the archeological did and found a CD I thought I lost (Ghost in the Shell Be Human (soundtrack)). After making donations, I did go to Anime Nuts to get vol Ghost in the Shell so I have the whole set now. I really like the drawing in that show, its great. But, I still love Bebop.. and Trigun. What all your all time favorite animes (top 2 picks)?

What do you think of Daylight Savings time-- should we keep it or scrap it (I always hate "Springing forward". But I did get some great photos of flowers in the rain.

The End of the Week !
I can't believe it ! its really here! Friday, AND I DON"T HAVE TO WORK THE WEEKEND! Every time I am designated standby, it really rots. I hope I am spared in May, I certaintly don't want the holiday! Well, in April I will visit my sister and Daddy-O for 5 days. I need that break. Hopefully, it will be warm enough to go shelling... I have a bowl of shells in my kitchen.

What task do you dread? How do you cope with it?
I have knitting in my purse at all times, and often use sarcastic humour This week went beyond that, then I just hide.

Has anyone been watching Bo Bo Bo or Zatch Bell? I am looking forward to AX-- I'll be armed with 2 digital cameras.. One day I am going to learn how to really use Photoshop-- to draw and make collages. The camera store has lessons ,but with my work schedule, can't make it.

Have a whale of a day, dear friends!

Sigh
I feel tired.. the standby weekend was hectic and so was the rest of the weeken <> AND IT ISN'T DONE YET!

Vash: (blows loud whistle) Emergency!

Kenshin: It is not even 6 am, whatever is the matter?

Vash: Mamma's funked out and tired again, AND THERE'S NO DONUTS IN THE HOUSE! (runs in circles panicked)

Jet: (whisking batter) I can only work so fast! Do you know how hard it is to make donuts on a propane burner?!

Kuroneko: Who ever said it never rains in Southern California has never seen the chaos in the morning here! Vash, next time Mamma goes standby, you will have to go with her!

Just a little silliness--have you ever wondered how funny it would be if anime characters had to adapt to real life? Sometimes I do , especially when traffic snarls. I've driven in New York City and other places, and baby -- nothin is like So Cal Traffic! There's an old movie called Gridlock-- its pretty funny and may give you a laugh. All our highways are intertwangled, and gridlock could happen!

its been raining off and on over the past 2 weeks, but when it rains a little bit, oils rise to the surface of the road and you go fishtailing! Guess I should try a surf board on those days (and I don't surf). I have been having to drive back and forth to get some papers completed,(in evening hours) and every time I go out, it rains, and driving gets really risky. I have also been working 10 days in a row, and I so badly need to sleep well, no obligations or phone calls! So its going to rain again this weekend! I guess photography is out, but at least I am not on standby!

Here's one of the sketches I have used as a background before. Just thought it was appropriate as I am so tired this morning. A good morning for good friends! Now, I am going to Mimi's cafe for a double expresso (sorry, chai is not strong enough)

Vash: Don't forget the donuts!

Jet: All this work for nothing!

Crackers..
When life gives you lemons..find comfort food! What are you comfort snacks? It always seems that whatever I want, its not in the house, and nothing else will do at the time! What I like seems to vary--- but often at work, I want my little rice crackers! Today as I tackled the beginning of the paperwork tower I found the little bag of crackers. When I reached in, it was empty! I was very puzzled, until I looked at the bag. Apparently there was a hole in it and only 2 cracker left in the bag So, moral of the story is: if you are going to be facing challenges, I hope your cracker bqag doesn't have a hole in it ! LOL This is just going to be one of those long weeks-- when I woke up, I happily thought it was Saturday---- o.O!

Have a good one!

Monday, already....
The thing I hate about working weekends is that I end up working 2 weeks in a row, no break. That means the house chores pile up, no fun, and I feel like a wet dish towel when Monday starts. Good thing I used the standby room last night, because I was hammered all day, and called in the night-- last call was 4:30 am this morning.... need chai, expresso, CAFFEINE !

Oh, well. I can hardly wait to be able to get some sleep-- and unplug the phone!

A picture for good friends, what my dream garden would look like (personally, I have a black thumb and am terrible with gardens..)

Hope who ever went to Sakura con enjoyed themselves!

Its kwazy!
Well, I definitely support the notion that Murphy was an optimist! Friday night several calls -- any time I turned around to do something , the phone rang. Saturday morning the parrots were very irritable... and then I smelt gas. It turned out to be the valve on the dryer, and the gas company fixed it. Off to work for fun and games... came back home, and again the phone rings through the night. Luckilly I got to watch Princess Monoke-- that film is so beautiful, and a great story! When I woke up the next morning , I already had a full schedule for Sunday! And then --dun, dun, dun---I smelled gas again , very strong! Turned out that the pipe to the dryer cracked open (its 15 years old). And the gas company comes and fixed it again. When I came in to work, everybody was jumping about, so I had to work 6 hours for an administrative mess. (Bean counters!) By that time, I figured it was 3 pm, if I went home, I would probably end up getting called again, but maybe if I used the stand by room it may even stay--- (we never mention the Q word--- bad luck! )quiet that night. So I got Howl's Moving Castle (thanks for suggestions)-- and had a copy of Bebop- knocking on Heaven's Door in the standby tote (in case I have to stay or my sciatica acts up). So I got a meatball sub for dinner, and figure I'll just stay put. Kwazy weekend.

Does anyone watch Bo Bo Bo? Its so crazy, but its pretty funny!

Well, I have some photos (still have to download some more from the camera-- I just love the digital cameras, you really can record the everyday moments and things that describe life.) Hope the rest of Sunday is a restful one for good friends!

This was taken in the Arboretum orchid house in January!

And this is Fred--- the goose who sometimes is friendly, sometimes drives everyone crazy, but he is a real character!

Oro?
Its Friday and that's good. It would be better if Big M were home, and I had the weekend off, but I guess I will settle for 1:3. At least we are not supposed to have rain, so if I have to come in , it won't be so bad. I could just sit down with HTML, sort pictures on the computer. Thanks for the great movie suggestions, I'm going to get a few because I have a sneaking suspicion I am probably going to have to come in tomorrow morning.

I really do have to practice letting go , and just letting things happen ! Stop fretting about what I have no control over.....I guess that's what I love about photography-- I go somewhere to walk around and really feel and see my surroundings, and if something strikes me, I take a picture. So, I'll let 2 pictures do the talking...

The Arboretum, a wonderful botanical garden in Arcadia CA has free roaming peacocks-- in fact they roam through the town.. they are its mascots. Big trouble with the cops if you bother one!

Another picture from the farmer's market Little Tokyo. This is the smallest Farmer's Market I have seen, but one of the neatest. When I have a day off, I will go down to the big Farmer's Market of Los Angeles. It is really wonderful!

Well , for a shameless play on words, may you weekend blossom, and be fruitful! Love you friends a bunch! Anyone going to Sakura-con this weekend, oh please share some pictures!

Hugs for friends!

Coasting
Well, I know things are normalizing when I get mugged by the ducks and geese in the morning. Today I had duck food, which they greedily gobbled up. This weekend is my week end to "have the duty"-- be ready for standby-- so I will just have to stick close to base. It's a bit cooler here, but that is a nice change from weather in the 90's!

If is doesn't rain this weekend, maybe I can find some wildflowers. Not much else going on right now, and that is just fine.... except the gophers! They are popping up in my neighbors yard and teasing her sweet doggie! One of the parrots gets annoyed at the gophers, then just goes to sleep.

Which anime character do you think would make a really difficult roommate? I think Merryl could be difficult to live with-- on the ohter hand, I think Bebop's Ed and Ein would be humourous to have as a roommate, same for Milly!

Well, wishing good friends a great day!

This is an old tree, I love the twists and turns in its trunk!
