Goodie Box
Yesterday, my sister sent me a box. I had standby duty, so I was tired and grumpy-- I was so surprise by the box, a can of cashews (yum), a knitting calendar with a different pattern each day, Italian hazelnut cookies, and little doo-dads for the kitchen. It couldn't have arrived at a better time..Big M is away again, and I was tired. So much stuff to be done in the house, but it will not get away from me-- really need to overhaul the home office-- it is so bad, I really should photograph it...there is a contest for messiest office, and if you win, they send out people who build closets and re-organize--my home office should be labered: Warning, do not try this at home, I am a professional. Yup , its so bad that the answers to Einsteins theories and the cure for cancer must be hidden in there-- it looks like the physicists definition of entropy (ultimate chaos!). Well, all in good time-- I'll stick with what is organized for now,

The little beads on the penguins wings and feet are ID bands (I guess in case someone tries to steal one!)

Right now just trying to keep treading water, but you, my friends make it a lot easier. Have a wonderful day! Say Heya! to TheMouse,Kitsune Tsuki,Caprice,CosmicSailor, and Panda

And finally, a picture of Jimsom weed (Loco weed)because you don't have to be crazy to work at "bernadelli" but is sure helps!

Also, check out the artwork of LIFEsize.. she does some amazing Trigun art, definitely worth a look!

Hi-ho , Hi-ho, ?its off to work we go.. (why are they smiling?)
LOL-- ah, back to "bernadelli".. We had MLK Day off, and I debated about going to Little Tokyo or the parade so long, it was too late to do anything. Got the big fluffy pillow and had an anime marathon with the parrots-- Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent , and Big O (haven't watched that in a long time) It seems that after we get a day off, we pay for it for the next 2 weeks-- groan.. the day I returned, the garage door broke, and the toilet has to be fixed, Big M is out of town, and in the beginning of Feb is going to the Netherlands on company business.

Some personal stuff... Big M is a toxicologist- physiologist and pharmacologist, with alphabet soup after his name. I love him so much, we have been married for 24 years this year. He has been travelling so much... in a way I feel like we were when we first met, and have been having the wonderful feeling of falling in love with my husband and best friend all over again.. so this year I think Valentine' s Day is gonna feel more special than in many years.

Well, the back to earth is tryping to get someone to fix the door, get my toolbelt out for the toilets (yes, I fix toilets, and sometimes little appliances-- my Daddy was an engineer and thoughts I should learn, so he taught me.), and yell for help with the mess I made to making the wireless connection (neighbor is an electrical engineer)...there's so little time to learn more about the computer, keep up the house, and do my job. Yup, I go to sleep pretty early-- then unfortunately wake up early....

But the parrots are my entertainment. When I give the little bird a treat, he sometime makes a soft "thank you", and if he likes the treat, he kisses it (really sounds a kiss-- since birds don't have lips, go figure!) Their recent treat was miso soup...the big bird cried when she saw little pieces of tofu because those where new to her!

I wish a bright clear day, filled with internal warmth to my friends! And now, a little fellow in a tuxedo to brighten the day!

Outta my System
Well, I confronted the boss and told him talk to me when there are papers to sign for more hours -- and in reviewing my schedule, I'm overbooked, so knock off 1 segment. He did, and was shocked. That's where I leave it, and now must go forth. Could it have been Wolfwood was whispering in my ear at that moment? I can imagine the conversation:
Wolfwood: Mamma, you're worse than Vash! You are a wuss beyond belief--
Mamma: You're right
Vash: HEEEEY! WAit a minute, who said I was a wuss?
Kuroneko:Everyone.

For COSMICSAILOR, in your comment, yup-- if you heard me speak, you would nail the New York/NJ accent cold. Yup-- drop all the 'Rs". Been away from the East (everything in California is the East-- even Arizona!) for about 17 years, but my accent is still very strong. For some reason, most Californians seem entertained by person with a real back East accent. (I guess they feel that only mobsters in movies talk like that.)

As General Patton would say:"Tanks a lot" (for all your support, even when I have been raging). Hope that the day goes well for you all.

Lost your slippers? well here is a slipper for you.. a Lady's Slipper, an orchid...

WARNING: BITTER RANT
Well, my boss called me in Friday to give "potential good news," that I "might" get my hours increased--- I have been asking for 10 years! I was given some "contingent" extra hours, but they will be running out... I was very pissed off-- ?potential good news? I told my boss to give me a time line and odds this will really happen. He said "likely"... yeah,Right! (my parrot loves to say that) I also told him thanks for getting my hopes up (he has passed me over so many times, and the newbies never lasted more than a year!)and next time hold the announcement until he has something ready for me to sign--- I am going to enforce that this is a no B.S. zone, I don't speak bureaucratese, and if boss wants something extra, pay for it or forget it! So this year ,he gets nothing extra-- I have been practising the line "what part of No do you not understand". I told my boss to annouce things to me in writing-- so many times he has said "I may have something for you"..then "sorry , it fell through". Yet other people were hired ! Well, we'll see what he does. But frankly , he lost my trust a long time ago. And lost the trust of most of my co-workers. Ah, where is Wolfwood when you need him-- he could give my boss a pretty good tongue lashing! (I think Vash would react like me and get pissed off, then isolate and cry). So I am going to book events for every holiday way in advance, and refuse to work a holiday weekend-- I have worked them for 4 years in a row (2 people get exempted every year) and I work as many holidays and weekends as the full time people-- they say that is fair, but I do not. I have put up with this stuff, but this year will be right by the book until someone rectifies the situation. done that 4 years in a row. Sorry for this rant today, but it just burns me up! I have worked here for 15 years, why do I stay-- co-workers and clients, but my boss is wearing me thin! But , I do believe in karma, and when he needs help (he did in Dec, and I did it), now I will walk on by...and what goes around, does come around! (I just want to be there when it does-- to see how he takes it!) Sorry for the rant, but this has been bothering me quite a bit!

I really appreciate the support I have gotten from my friends here on MyO, as we say in the East "youse guys are da best!" and you help more than you know. Hello to Panda, Kitsune Tsuki, TheMouse,CosmicSailor, Caprice and Conneryalexis!
Here's a photograph from my last outing (maybe I will go to Little Tokyo in LA this weekend to put the mess behind me!)

Love and peace!

Here Come the Chicken Jokes
Well, its the same-ol here at Bernadelli-so rather than give you all the same ol, here are some chicken jokes I hope you will enjoy: (told from the perspective of famous people:)

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that
he must first deal with the problem on "THIS" side of the road before it
goes after the problem on the "OTHER SIDE" of the road. What we need to do
is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his "CURRENT"
problems before adding "NEW" problems.

OPRAH: Well I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why
he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn
from his mistakes and take falls, which are a part of life, I'm going to
give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not
live his life like the rest of the chickens.

GEORGE W BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We
just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The
chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the
satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

HANS BLIX: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet
been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now
against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the
chicken's intentions. I am for it now, and will remain against it.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was
going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when
the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider
information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road.
Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together -
in peace.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road

SIGMUND FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken
crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2005, which will not only Cross
roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your
check book. Internet explorer is an integral part of eChicken. The Platform
is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^( C \ reboot.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move
beneath the chicken?

I wish my friends a satisfying day, and for myself I wish I could find my aspirin! (the job is often a pain!)

Nose to the Grindstone
Well, work re-started with a bang last week. (have to keep checking the name on the doors to make sure it doesn't say Bernadelli, because it sure feels like it) I am eagerly awaiting Trigum MAx 8-- I think it will a dissappointment when the series ends... will just have to ick up a new one. Not much going on right now, just trying to keep up with the treadmill... hoping you all enjoy the day! Will try to add a picture later.

This Site Under Confusion
GAAAACK ME ! Where is Wolfwood when you need him! I went back to work on Wednesday morning when I was suddenly and mercillessly attacks by mounds of paper (yes friends, it really does multiply overnight), and weird computer glitches. I had to stay overnight to mop up the problems, and did not finish-- went to sleep at 2 AM only to start again at 6 AM-- felt like I was ready to cry by 4 PM. Have you ever been so tired, you felt on the verge of tears for no reason at all! I was so tired, I felt that even my spikes were wilting. Back to work , 0-200 MPH in less than 60 sec-- hey, my brain is no formula one car--- more like a Yugo engine! ( you know, push down hill, put a sail on top of it, and pray it starts )--- but round one did get finished. After all the paper wrangling, my mind was spinning with words at random. Though I hear these words, they began to blur, and meanings were lost-- words like panache, piquant... familiar, yet their definition flew out the window. Anyone out there have a clue to their meaning? So , I want to regain my former command of the English language-- maybe adding or refreshing one word a day is a way to tame my "wild world" (Yes, my brains are wondering) Maybe pick up a piece of HTML here and there, but practice on the weekend in case of a major site wipe out! Trying to work with the canned work software (that has no manual-- known as the survival method of computer training-- he who does not "blow up" the machine gets paid!) Will try to visit sites-- and think about words. What is everyone up to? Any thoughts about of the electronic gizmos from the consumer show?

Just want to include a lizard from the reptile house, he has such a look of self confidence! Go lizard! Hope some of my silliness can share a smile-- see you all on the other side of starshine!

A Picture is worth a Thousand Words
Well, it"s a rainy day, and that's really OK by me. I still have 2 days off, and I am going to sort pictures that I took at the gardens, Sea World, and the LA Zoo , and maybe do some cooking and try and work with some HTML-- I would like to jazz up my site a little more (when I am working, don't really have the time to do these things). What are some things you like to do, but don't get much of a chance to ? Today I have 2 pictures that I'll let do the talking... what captions would you put on them?

Hope these pictures gave you a little smile!

Love and peace!

As the old year fades out.....

Well, here it is, the last few hours of 2005, and like most years mixed in both good and bad... We all wave "bye-bye", and eagerly await a brand new year. The best part of this is the hope of a new beginning, and the mystery of things yet to be. My wish is health, contentment and peace for the world, and especially for my friends. And as
COSMICSAILORso beautifully states, Anime dreams!
You are all very special, I hope that you know that. It has been so much fun to get to know people, and hoping next year to get to know my friends better, perhaps meet up at Anime Expo, and hope to meet new friends. How are you celebrating tonite? I made hoemade manicotti and meatballs (I mean I even made the macaroni shells !) for New Years Eve dinner and I will toast Big M with a glass of champagne, and watch the ball come down on TV-- then hopefully watch a new anime movie (the 3rd Patlabor movie_ if I stay awake).

Happy New Year to one and all!

Safari !
Well, with a new camera, it was time to go on safari.. especially with Big m. He is a passionate photographer. He really should do it professionally, but it is his hobby. I learn a lot when we go shooting. The past 2 days where spent at the LA Arboretum (the most beautiful botanical garden with plants from all over the world. They have a breath taking orchid house), then yesterday we went to Sea World -- about a 2 hour drive. The penguings were so adorable! Big M likes to use film, not digital. I shoot digital because initially the camera was lighter (the new camera is a little lighter... can't do the super closeups without a bigger and heavier lens, but focus much sharper, and I can get pictures in lower levels of light than I could before). We will have to go to the camera store to get film for Big M , then we will head to the L A Zoo. One weekend, I will drive to San Diego to try to photograph the panda ( for Panda I will forewarn once I have the panda picture. But today, if the weather holds, it will be lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

What appeared under your Christmas tree that you really enjoyed ? I had the new digital cameral before Christmas, but am just getting to it. Is anyone else a photography buff? When we go to the LA Zoo, I will also bring the binoculars for the bird house.Enjoy the holidays, for they are quickly slipping by. But any day is a good one to share love and peace, and you, my friends, are the best ones to share it with!

Here' 2 recent photos--

And this is how I feel most of the time:

LOVE AND PEACE !(biscotti all gone right now)
