Enjoyment
Ah, I can sit down and relax, the chores got finished, and now its time to enjoy. I have this week off from work, and Big M is home. I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and hope those who celebrate Hannukah and/or Kwanzaa are enjoying those holidays. The parrots are enjoying having both me and Big M home. I've been out in the yard, watching the birds, especially the red tailed hawk circling and gliding. A quiet holiday, but a happy and contented one. Any time with Big M is good, and time to putter around without feeling the pressure of obligations is wonderful. Hoping my friends are having a time of enjoyment!

Merry Christmas !
Hope that this day feels warm inside, and that friends can feast on love of friends and family today!

It will be a small holiday , me, Big M and the parrots, but will still be merry! The parrots of already started their Christmas feast of walnuts (yes, birds love nuts! Mine like all kinds, but they seem to be wondering where the pizza is today-- that's their favorite!)

Love and peace (and biscotti !)

It could be worse-- we could be in NYC
I have to say, I feel sorry for the people of NYC having a transit strike when it is cold, and right before Christmas-- those city blocks are long, and longer still when the wind blows. I stayed home yesterday, I was so exhausted I did not wake up until 3 PM, then had the schnuffles which would account for part of my sinking mood. The other day I saw a little special on how to hurry up and make to house sparkle for the holidays (It included stuff like shoving the dishes into the oven after cooking, putting stuff in boxes and shoving it in the trunk of the car-- the biggest shuffle job I ever saw!) I started to laugh, and thought about what happens if your company gets snowed in with you for several days! It struck me as pretty silly. So I will toss some things in my office, and simply lock the door! The biggest problem was the rug (black streaks of grease-- gone!) New Years is the time I think of ways to get organized etc, and maybe this year it will dawn on me that it is evolution, not revolution. Good grief, I have been thinking and fretting on this, which seems to slow everything up. Do what I can, forget the rest!

Do you all do any resolutions for New Years? I think that changes or personal resolutions can be made any day, and each day is the beginning of a new year! (the span of dates is dec 21-dec 21 rather than Jan 1 to Jan 1). What are you all planning for the holidays? Big M will be home for a little while before the next series of business trips. My camera broke-- that's right, just up and died. Yes, I was going through withdrawals, so I bought a camera, only this one is an SLR (more like my ancient film camera) and it has a good "walking around lens" that is light enough for me to handle, and gives a decent zoom. So the poor parrots will be running to try and escape hundreds of pictures being snapped.

Please send a warm Christmas wish (or Hannukah or Kwanzaa, or whatever you celebrate) to friends and family. And a big huggle and basket of joy to my friends here, just for being you!

Wipe out!
Well, the weekend was a surprise. I have been overwhelmed by trying to get things done in the house-- the major has been trying to get rugs cleaned (grease gets in the hall from the garage and looked gross!) My wonderful neighbor sent over a rug cleaning crew this weekend-- its a lot of moving stuff.. and together we did the den, and living room. My office is a hopeless clutter, but I can close the door. The kitchen still needs some work.. I could just about have cried with surprise and happiness when my neighbor did that! We worked very hard-- recall I have 2 parrots and moving around those cages is amazing. Work was $%^& today, and when I stopped to think of what still awaited to be done, my mood started going south real fast-- the let down before the event. I think that is just pure exhaustion ... so I think the best is just to sleep early and regenerate.

Wishing you all a loving holiday season! Love, peace, and biscotti! Here's a photo my husband took (please no copying this one-- its not mine to give!)

Traffic !
Last night was a true traffic ordeal... after a long day at the paperwork factory, there apparently was a BIG wreck-- 2 highways were closed off from 5 pm-7 pm, then the traffic (of 4 lanes) creeped through a 1 lane openning-- about 5 mph-- then as luck would have it BOOM! another big mix up. At 8 pm , sitting on the highway, knowing it will be another 2 hrs to get home, I turned back, and used the standby room. That's life in Southern Cal. The main freeway I take is the 91 and it really can't take all the traffic-- so they are bulding a parallel elvated highway on one side, and considering digging an 11 mile tunnel on the other side. Excuse me, this is eathquake country!?&*!! Who ever said plans had to be logical! - sigh-

Well, I did the reasonable thing and got off the highway when I could, and headed for Barnes and Nobles. I was reading Anime Insider, and there could possibly be a Trigun movie! (does happy dance) Now, that could be an Aprils Fool thing , but I hope it is the real deal!

What anime would you all want to see either a sequel , or a movie. I would also love to see more episodes of Bebop-- but I think that would be a long shot.

From the comments, my friends have interesting things -- I love CosmicSailor putting origami hats on items-- pretty cool!

Aside from anime, any favorite animation? Actually I love a lot of the commercials (pepsi with the Sumo roast chicken, and Coke with the polar bears and penguins) Still love the Simpsons! How about you all?

Sigh, worktime approaches, so I guess I will close. I wish you all hapiness in small things, because when you really think on it, they are the things that seem to make the biggest difference. I will put up a picture of a very tiny flower (about a half inch across) Hope you enjoy it!

Love and peace!

If it is Tuesday, this must be...?Dude- land.
The coastline is a small part of California, but surfer-speak seems to dominate the language. The word "dude" in particular. It kind of makes me laugh though, it is a funny sounding word. I guess I am in a giggler mood this morning ( Uh, oh-- the Peanut Gallery approaches:"Truth is, Mamma Vash, you stayed up too late again watching anime!") Guilty as charged! I was watching Cowboy Bebop-- if you are a Bebop fan, do you have a favorite episode? I love "Stray Dog Strut", the story of how Ein joins the crew! As we say in So Cal: Cool, dude! (or dudette, I think Dude is gender neutral).

As I am in such a silly mood, I found these little true vignettes about dumb things people do (my fave is from Chico, Ca!)

True stupid stories 01
Really Stupid People

Police in Wichita, Kansas, arrested a 22-year-old man at an airport hotel after he tried to pass two (counterfeit) $16 bills.

The Chico, California, City Council enacted a ban on nuclear weapons, setting a $500 fine for anyone detonating one within city limits.

Swedish business consultant Ulf af Trolle labored 13 years on a book about Swedish economic solutions. He took the 250-page manuscript to be copied, only to have it reduced to 50,000 strips of paper in seconds when a worker confused the copier with the shredder.
. .

When two service station attendants in Ionia, Michigan, refused to hand over the cash to an intoxicated robber, the man threatened to call the police. They still refused, so the robber called the police and was arrested.

A Los Angeles man who later said he was "tired of walking," stole a steamroller and led police on a 5 mph chase until an officer stepped aboard and brought the vehicle to a stop

What is the funniest thing you have in your office (if you work), your home, or locker (if you go to school)-- I have a little plastic parrot that sits under the monitor-- will have to take a picture, because the little guy looks like he is saluting. Sorry this post is so long, but I guess I get talkative with the "sillies".
Well, I wish a pacific sunrise to you all... enjoy warmth of the heart even if the weather is cold!

My holiday present.....
Ah, some crispness in the air in the morning. ( The Peanut Gallery stares...Mamma Vash singing in the morning.. ON A WORK DAY???) No , they aren't coming to take me away (yet anyway). I gave myself an early holiday present that is really helping me to get some house chores done--- an industrial strength shredder! (takes on CD's floppy disks, and 15 sheets of paper with staples)-- much of the hold up is tons of papers that have to be shredded because of the info they have. Unfortunately , over many years they have ended up in cabinets and closets, and well, stuck everywhere... and its not the kind of thing a stranger could come in and help. I am trying to get that done, and clear closets--and now I think I have the means to do it. I baked some cookies in the big wall oven, and its working (before it would beep at me and do strange things). So all the machines are giving me a break.

It seems to take time to get into a holiday mood-- but then any timing it plenty OK. Sometimes broadcast media seem like they are pushing people into feeling merry and gregarious, and folks have shared with me they feel guilty if not festive. Well, let your own mind and soul go at its pace... and if a quiet holiday feels right , then do what feels right for you. I like to drive around in the evening and look at the lights, and then look in the sky-- the stars seem a little brighter this time of the year.

Well, I wish peace, harmony , and feeling of friendship for wonderful friends ! Hope your day is good, and if you see a big shredder, have a smile for me!

Love and peace!

Its Wednesday, .. I think
Well, stayed home today-- and that was a great thing. I've been tired , and feeling like I've been runinning on a treadmill-- so I had a little time to rest, and it felt really good. Back into the job tomorrow. There's lots of holiday programs on now---which are your favorites? Got to admit, I still look forward to Charlie Brown Christmas. I love Snoopy (and of course Woodstock). Haven't gotten the chance to see if the holiday ball projector works-- maybe i'LL WAIT TIL Friday. The days are getting shorter , but the night sky looks more beautiful each night-- deep azure, with just the mood and a bright planet. I think I can spot Mars and it seems to have a little tint of red. If someone knows astronomy, what is the bright planet that appears in the early evening (?Venus) My brain is on random generator, trying to unwind, and just let go. I decided to give myself a little present, and bought Samurai Champloo DVD and the Ghost in the Shell 2nd GiG--What is on people's wish list? Actually, right now the best things for the holiday is to see my friends and relatives feeling happy and healthy, and having fun,and to have time to just putter around-- re-organize to make life a little simpler. Sometimes sorting through things, its difficult to decide to just let go and donate things, not just hold on to things. I was excited this weekend getting presents for friends and family. I remember when I was younger, there was a community tree that had paper stars, and each star had a childs name and a wish they had. Many were simple things-- a new hat, or mittens, or a sweater. It felt so warm to pick out a star, and get a gift for the child. Something that has remained in my mind for years had been my fathers approach-- he always took a star, and walked off. But when no one was looking , he quickly went back and took a second. He had a ball getting the gifts and wrapping them nice as could be, and then putting them at the community center. No child ever knew their benfactor, but it was fun thinking how they would react on Christmas day. Simplicity --- random acts of kindness freely given , no need to see the recipients reaction. Thank you DaddyO for showing me this early in life. And no matter of the particulars of the holiday, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah== all give us pause from the dreary run around hectic world, to a kinder, simpler, warmer place to be... that just letting go of old pressures and irritabilities , and truly celebrate the days with the eyes and heart of a child.

Tomorrow back to the routine, but I am going to carve out some time and try to make some holiday treats for neighbors and people at work-- biscotti , and some scandinavian cookies shaped like little pretzels (they are incredible easy to make). I will try to post the recipes. Going to grab a little snack , and into bed with my fluffy pillow (and big Shippo plushie and Ein) and relax and watch some anime and drift into sleep. I think I will watch disk 1 of Bebop-- I always laugh at how Ein came to be a part of the crew.

Any favorite memories to share if you wish? My hope is that everyone finds something to be happy for. I wish you all a gentle good night, and if you hear a goose honk, and hear someone trip and holler a bit, dont's be alarmed, it s only Mamma, the duck fanatic!

I'll meet you dancing here, to the music of the Celectial Speres, that can only be heard in dreams....

Holiday Ball
Well, yesterday I was just spinning around-- could not get started on my presentation for Tuesday, and just couldn't get started on house chores. I thought I would get a little energy if I went outside a bit. I went to a coffee shop, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and had some spiced chai with a wonderful Chai biscotti-- did some shopping and came upon a holiday projector-- a mirrored ball that projects images of snowflakes-- and images for other holidays too like July 4, Halloween, etc. It doesn't look too hard to set up , so after the presentation is over tomorrow I may try to set it up. (oh, how I hear the Peanut Gallery saying "You set that up, that'll be the day!) Well, time to work on the presentation (Yuck-public speaking again!)Both my office and house are a disaster, I have just been too tired. Well, lets see how tomorrow turns out. As far as putting the home network together, I got a 100' ethernet cable in case I did not put it together , and then the little notebook started acting funky-- took it to the technician, and it has a virus! Well, at least it should get fixed quickly.

Feel better real soon, Panda!

A beautiful little flower, for beautiful friends-- hoping this season brings up the bloom in everyone!

Oh, no--house chores!
Meh! I want to ban house chores, it takes me part of the day to work up to do them... I guess a frustrating thing is that they never stay "done"...its like pushing a rock up a hill by day, and it rolls down the hill at night. (Uh, oh.. here comes the whine!) It's just been a long week, and right now just a little hard to find the right "carrot" to kick me into gear. What things do you use to motivate yourself? Sometimes I get something anime (DVD, T shirt) or I might get something special for dinner. Today I couldn't think of what to get for lunch, so I just had lemonade. Must be still tired. I tried to place a new background sketch of Lil Vash in color (I posted a B+W sketch in fan art... too much data for fan art... need a better re-sizing program), but it didn't seem to take. Oh, well. Are you all getting ready for the holidays..any special preparations? Right now, I am just cruising.. hopefully I can kick into gear tomorrow.

A big hello to friends!
