Oh, no--house chores!
Meh! I want to ban house chores, it takes me part of the day to work up to do them... I guess a frustrating thing is that they never stay "done"...its like pushing a rock up a hill by day, and it rolls down the hill at night. (Uh, oh.. here comes the whine!) It's just been a long week, and right now just a little hard to find the right "carrot" to kick me into gear. What things do you use to motivate yourself? Sometimes I get something anime (DVD, T shirt) or I might get something special for dinner. Today I couldn't think of what to get for lunch, so I just had lemonade. Must be still tired. I tried to place a new background sketch of Lil Vash in color (I posted a B+W sketch in fan art... too much data for fan art... need a better re-sizing program), but it didn't seem to take. Oh, well. Are you all getting ready for the holidays..any special preparations? Right now, I am just cruising.. hopefully I can kick into gear tomorrow.

A big hello to friends!

Tired tonite
This has just been one of those long tiresome weeks-- too much to do, not enough time. I'm trying to put together a simple wireless network at home-- 2 computers, but trying to do it tired only makes more problems, so it will just have to wait a bit. The delightful crisp coolness is yielding to some warming and increased humidity which just makes me a little foggy, so tonite guess I'll make it an early night. Still haven't found the picture of the musky duck, but I will post it when I find it. Goodnight, moon, goodnight friends-- have a refreshing night-- may you all have a happy dance among the stars!

   Where did it Come from?
Sometimes, I try to think of where phrases came from-- the one in my brain this morning is "Boo yah !" The first time I heard it was on Teen Titans, and I just thought it sounded pretty cool. But when I think of it, I am not exactly sure of what it means (Please give an "old" lady a break today). Do you have a favorite expression? Today I am trying to catch up on paperwork after vacation, and I am up to my armpits in it.....

Makes me wonder what it was like for Merryl after returning to work after a long period of following Vash. LOL

Important news! Caprice has set up a site for otakus to chat. She has an really cool site here, and has HTML resources on her site. I think it would be fun for folks on MyO to be able to talk together. I must admit, I have been very thankful for the friends I have met here. You folks are really supportive, much fun, and I think a really great example of a shining community on the Web. So, as you start your day, here's a round of standing ovations for great friends!

Its Beginning to feel a little like winter....
This morning, it actually got cool in So . Cal-- something that does not happen often. I actually had to put on a light jacket. I have been waiting for some cool weather, as I got a nifty anime hoodie with Samurai Champloo on it. As I walked into work, I saw the Musky Ducks milling around, looking so gosh darn cute (do not try this at home, folks, the Musky Duck is a professional at looking cute!)-- well they got part of my breakfast. What does a musky duck look like? The first time I saw one (that was in Florida), I thought it was a swimming turkey! It is a strange and large duck, that has a little red mask, with something on its bill that looks like a turkey wattle! It is the only wild duck of America that is not descended from the mallard. I will try to find a picture...

Randomization time-- my brain often seems to come up with odd random thoughts in the morning. Do you all like soda? What is your favorite flavour? I like cherry cola , and a ginger ale called Vernor's. It used to be a local Detroit product and is definitely an acquired taste, but it really can soothe an upset stomach, and quench my thirst.

I wish you all glorious sunrises, that kiss the purple mountains with a faint glow of pink... and the peaceful serenity of early morning . Love you all!

Translate Your Tee Shirt !
Well, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and has found those 25 secret ways of using turkey leftovers. I just flew in from Florida, and the winds are blowing hard here in California. But that will mean clear skies, and the possibilities of great photography opportunities.. but, sigh , chores do call.

I got a Ruroni Kenshin T shirt (I love anime T shirts, they are much fun) and on the front is the following kanji:

I was wearing it when I stopped at a little sandwich shop. I asked for a soda. The owner looked at me, smiled and pointed at my shirt. She asked me to turn around.. on the back of the shirt is a picture of Kenshin. She smiled and asked me who Kenshin was and I told her a wandering samurai. She laughed and then said " That explains the kanjo on your shirt, it means homeless!" I started laughing . You must admit, it was pretty funny,.

Wishing a rainbow filled day to friends...and may your chores already be done!

This is a little late, but:
Happy Anniversary to Panda and Novapup!

Vacation !
Well, in about 18 hours I will be on a plane bound for Tampa , FL. That's where my DaddyO lives, and sister. WHEE! PELICANS! They are in the inlet near DaddyO's home. Now the big question is: what to bring with me. Do you have difficulties deciding what to bring on a trip? I always bring too much stuff, and usually leave the important stuff at home. The birds are being boarded at our vet. He has an African gray parrot named George, and when my little parrot comes, they have the whistle off. Usually each bird comes away with something new. I don't know if I will be near a computer. The one thing I will definitely take is my digital camera. Some day, I want to go to the bird sanctuary and take pictures of the white pelicans.

I guess everyone will be getting busy for the holidays. How will you all be spending Thanksgiving Day? We will be having our meal at a restaraunt.. my sister has been working super hard, and it wouldn't be fair for her to cook, so then afterward, it will be a marathon pichnocle game! Have fun all!

GGGGGAAAAACK !
Imagine a smoking hole in the floor of my office, and a dusty figure pokes its head out , and croaks "Is it safe to come out?" Yes my dear friends, the standby of 4 days, felt more like a stand-off of 4 days. The IPC chirped very frequently, and I had to make several trips in, wrangle with reports, and generally run around. I ended up working as much as a regular work day, and having no weekend did not help my disposition this morning. And the clutter just seems to get worse!

I guess the finishing touch was when I left for the day to go home, I sat on my breakfast muffin, and found that when I slammed the car door earlier that day, I bent my knitting needles. At least standy for this month is over, and weekend duty is over until January.

So, how was your weekend?

Sorry I didn't post or get around to visit, but I will do that through today.

Hoping everyone has a sparkling day... and when things get rough, try to think of my breakfast muffin and laugh!

WHINE__ I WANT SOME TIME OFF !
Watch out! Mamma's cranky today! I caught weekend standby duty and night duty for 4 nights, and I will do my duty kicking and screaming. I want the weekend just to do fun stuff-- well, I guess if I'm on standby , I can convince myself not to do housework, because I have to be ready, but that is really a lame excuse. I just want to play, and now time has come to do the adult and responsible things I will let out a Spike like moan of IDONWANNA_ IDONFEELLIKEIT! Not much fun to be so called adult.

I will have to do one more public speaking presentation to our trainees this time, so that one will be fairly easy. The house, well clutter abounds, and I think I will take a day off in early December so I can get big things done.. like getting the rugs cleaned, and rounding up items for Goodwill . I have also been working on my blankets, but the skeins of yarn are all over.... eventually I would like to have an arts/crafts area in the garage to keep everything together. Someday I will get there. But right now, I am just having a good old fashioned pout!

Next weekend I fly to Tampa, Fl where my sister and Daddy O live. It will probably be too cool to go out on the speedboat, but I would love to go to the beach to collect shells. I love shells, and love going to the shore to look for unbroken shells. Can't do that on the Pacific beaches-- the big waves smash them to bits! But I love the colors and patterns, and remember when my Daddy O found a little guidebook to seashells... whenever I found something other just plain old white clam shells (even calico clams make me do a happy dance.) I get excited.(that tells you I;m a former Jersey girl-- I don't know any other region that calls the beaches "Shore points". What do you call it -- the beach or the shore? I truly love walking at the shore, or meadows, finding new birds and plants. I look forward to getting time off when all big chores are done and go the wild bird sanctuary.. and hopefully get to see white pelicans. Well, today I'll just get the knitting needles, and see if I can finish the blanket for Charly!

I hope that something sparkles for good friends this weekend. Maybe I should treat myself to manga or perhaps Full Metal Alchemist DVD. Enjoy!

New Background
Well, the sketch of the whole crew of the Bebop at Disneyland is finished-- the sketch takes a lot of bytes, so I am using it as a background. This came to me when my friend and I were at AX and it was also Disneylands 50th..and I had met up with Panda, Novapup and TheMouse-- this sketch is for them with fond thoughts. It was really fun to meet people you write to and blog with !

The speech is done-- I started out tongue tied, but it got done. I like doing questions and answers better-- I always have so much information on hand, but it is so hard to organize it into an interesting talk-- How bad was it? Well, when you see peoples heads beginning to bob, and then hear some snoring, you know there's a bit of a problem. But now that it is done, I have a very good reason for a reward for me... we did not get to the movies last Thursday, so we are going this Thursday, and going out to dinner! I am on standby for 4 days, (Thursday through Sunday) so a big night out on Thursday makes up for losing the weekend (Besides, most of the weekends has been battling crabby grass!)

Its been cool out here in LaLa Land ! (that's what one friend calls California) and I am really enjoying the fall. what's your favorite season? I like the fall-- I easily get very hot, and work close to the desert, so summers can get pretty intense! I'll get around later to visit sites.

Enjoy your day-- don't forget to share some of your sunbeams with others! Love and Peace (and biscotti!)

My Brain is a Random Generator!
Have you ever had the experience of your brain going into neutral (for instance when faced with numbing tasks, like pulling crab grass and sowing grass seed?) That and sitting in traffic jams set my brain to Neutral-- and random thoughts come up (like-- what would happen if everyone in the Northern hemisphere jumped at the same time), and sometimes this includes Everyday Anime-- where anime characters would have to face the boredom of everyday life... like Vash faces the "challenge" of dealing with crabby grass (could he pull up another plant if faced with fines if he didn't), or a thought that Panda brought up (which I think is a hoot!!)-- Vicious must face the awful chore of cleaning the bird cage! ( Hey, I have parrots, and that one always brings out the rock-paper-scissor challenge!)

Has anyone watched Zatch Bell? What do you think? Slowly I think I am beginning to get hooked on this anime series, I think Zatch's voice is very cute.

What about BoBoBo bo BoBo (somehow It hink I got this wrong)? Another very Crazy series! But I admit, I laugh, the graphics are colorful (yes, I am a patsy for color!)

Another reason for random thoughts, tomorrow I have to do some public speaking! One time I had to give a speech. It was raining, and the rain caused all my notes to smear. I don't like public speaking, and felt my heart pounding and racing.. when I was beginning to speak a loud crack of thunder struck BOOM! And not a sound came out of my mouth for a few minutes. I am not fond of that task, so I always have to prepare a lot, even for a small no biggie thing. Yes, public speaking and spiders are on Mamma's NTG list (Not Too Good!)

What's on your NTG list?

What anime or manga are you following? I am waiting for the nest Trigun Maximum-- due this month-- more about Vash and Knives early years...

Enjoy the day, I hope some of it is spent with good friends! Another picture of a wildflower I found in back of Borders....
