Still Trying to Figure it Out

Still trying to figure out HTML-- I am brand new using the style sheets. It's funny, that the little HTML that I learned, became obsolete! That's the pace of the world.

I always take the change out of my pockets at night, and put the quarters and dimes in a jar, and the pennies and nickels in another. This is the penny and nickel jar...sometimes people like to guess how many objects are in a jar when there is a picture , so if you wish try to guess how much is in there. I'll post how much there was tomorrow. Hmm... I hear the Peanut Gallery asking "What's the point, Mamma Vash?" Well, it's spare change that adds up quickly, and is a reminder that we can help out others sometimes easier than we think. Just a thought today, to send something to charity for the hurricane victims, it so easily could have happened to any of us. You'll start the day feeling very good, by giving the price of the morning cup of coffee as a donation... now that's warming up the day for 2 people!

Two candles in the window for hurricane victims. Yami Loni wherever you are, I am hoping you are far from where the storms where.

Love and Peace for my wonderful friends. May your pockets be full of warm thoughts from friends, and may your hearts be brimming over from love you receive! ::HUGGLES::

Site Under Construction

Well, guess I'll try to change the background color of the post section-- don't know if it will work. I was on standby last night-- no calls, but I couldn't sleep all night. Bleah-- and then to come in for a long day at work. Oh, well.. in the larger view of the world, a small item.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone living near Mississippi an dNew Orleans, any where the storm had crossed.I'm going to look if anyone is collecting for the storm victims. Even if it's the price of a cup of coffee, it is still some help. I hope my friends , especially Yami Loni are all safe and dry.

A good day to everyone, and look for the rainbow!

Love and Peace!

So Many Toys, and Not Enough Time

Yup, so many toys to try and master... I have had them for a while, but haven't fully learned how to use them.. I mean the cellphone (I learned how to retrieve voice mail last year after Panda showed me how.. otherwise messages just got lost. I pretty much used the cell phone as "Outgoing Calls" only!::blush::, just figured out how to put the laptop table together (I've gotten real tired of sitting on the floor in the den, and using the footstool of the chair as the table). Now I just put Photoshop elements on the computer, and have to figure out how to use it to just rotate or resize pictures-- I don't photoshop nature photographs, I am used to using a manual camera.

BigM always tells me -- "Just read the manuals".. When you get something new (like a cell phone or other electronic stuff) how do you learn to master it? Do you read the manual, just plunge in a press random buttons, or ask someone who has the same gadget how it works? I must confess, I plunge in and kind of mess around with it... one day I will learn. If I had not met Panda, I guess I would still wonder about voicemail, and messages!

Well, time to wander off to Border's and have a chai. It will be a long work week (I'm on standby tomorrow night--- ) wishing a peaceful night to wonderful friends. Hope I get some pictures posted today.... will try to get one up later!

Love and Peace!

Didja Ever Wonder ?

Sometimes, silly questions just pop into my mind, especially in the early morning. Anyone have thoughts on:

1. Where do ducks go to sleep at night?

2. Why are the yellow pages in
the phone book yellow, why not pink?

The weekend is here, YAY! I'm fnishing the blanket I will take to Charly (Daddy O) when I visit. "Dad" was what we called my father in law, and Daddy-O and Daddy is what I always called my father. What do you call your father? "charley" is a nickname, because he has called me "Number One Son" since I was a kid-- only problem-- I'm a girl! So I tease him, and call him Charley, short for Charly Chan. I grew up loving the Charly Chan mysteries that I used to watch with my family. Does your family have nicknames?

Well, today promises again to be hot, so I think my background is appropriate. For anyone who has not come to my site before, yes I have drawn all my backgrounds. I hope anyone in the Southeast is dry and safe from hurricanes! An ice cream kind of day for my wonderful friends!

Where did it go

Yikes! I guess they aren't kidding about watching where you type HTML code and stuff-- I Tried to change just the color of post background and the site dissapeared! Had the urge to dive under my desk! Sigh, yes it don't come to easy to me! Well, I will keep plugging, and with some help from DarkKiba, I hope I can make some changes. Later will share some pictures of the kapok tree flowers-- they are so large and heavy, when they fall off the tree, they actually make a soft plop sound!

Hope I don't make my site dissappear again!

A Summer Cold is a Different Kind of Animal
Yup, it used to be the ad for Contac-- but colds in the summer are a bother. Just icky enough so if the weather gives me a break, don't really feel like going outside. But I try to go out , even if briefly. There is something about looking for wildflowers, and birds and critters that brings a pause to all the noise and bother of everyday life.

Yesterday, grumbling with my cold, I dragged myself out to do brief errands. I was flustered, wishing the errands would do themselves, just felt so washed out. Then I saw a big red tailed hawk! It just glided around on a current, not moving a bit, but sailing and circling on thermals! We used to have lots of red tailed until the West Nile Virus killed a lot a year ago. But now they are returning! I wished I had the camera at that moment!

We used to have a goshawk that used to land on my balcony.. the bird seemed fascinated to see my television through the window. Funny to think of a hawk watching Trigun and Bebop with me ! Haven't seen the goshawk, but I hope he shows up again this fall.

Well, right now the only bird I am seeking is a chicken.. for soup that is! Have a great day, good friends! Watch out for bugs!

And silly jokes...like the old:
"when is a door not a door?
When its ajar! (who uses that phrase: "ajar" ? Not too common.)

Love and Peace, biscotti and donuts!

If you look closely, there's a little butterfly on the flower.

Anime Night !
Ah, get the popcorn, its Anime Night -- lots of series to watch on CN on Saturday night! I wish Megas XLR was on, that was really funny. I thought a giant robot in Jersey City was a hysterical premise. I put a new "everday anime" Trigun sketch in my fan art.... if anyone sees it, what comment do you think Wolfwood should be making? Today I feel kinda sleepy, I feel like I let my brain take a walk.

Do you have any fears you feel are a bit unusual...When I knit, I cannot stop on the 13TH row, it feels if I put the work down on row 13, something will go wrong.

Do you wear a piece of jewelry all the time? I have 3 anklets with little silver bells on my left ankle... the clerks always laugh and tell me they can hear me coming a long way away! I enjoy the little tinkle sound they make....

Well, right now heTV room is filled with color-- the sunset is beautiful, and shows though the back window. The walls are white, so they have a subtle hint of colour this time of day. A gentle good evening to good friends.

   Worms Have Teeth !
Yesterday was one of those days, the one we say are "for the birds!"
When I heard the news yesterday morning, and they talked about a worm that was seeking out big networks, I looked at my bed and thought it might be better to get in and stay there! I got to work, in about an hour, people were flying around, screaming pull out the network cord. Luckilly, we have these "dumb" machines called Winterms that everyone usually curses-- no hard drive, slow as molasses. They saved the day! By the end of the day , the only happy person was the guy who has a coffee stand here. By days end, he sold out!

What is everyone doing for Labor Day? Any special plans coming up? I'll be going to visit Charly, and in 2 days I hope to finish the last piece of the blanket, then I sew the 5 pieces together. This one has taken a year, because I have not worked as consistently as on the others.
In October, I will get to see the King Tut exhibit! A good friend from work got tickets! I love going to museums....one of my favorites is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. And the Dali Museum. What places do you all like to go to? Any favorite artists? Dali was a flambuouyant character, with a really unique style. Seeing his paintings up close is something-- some of them are 15 feet wide or better!

Well, time to warm up for some more piping hot paperwork! I would rather have a donut!

Love and peace!

   The Dog Ate It...
When I was a kid, the best excuse for homework dissappearing was "The dog ate my homework!" I just wrote a post, and then POOF--don't know what I did, it was gone! Guess that is just a little of the computer mojo everyone is getting! Or more probable, just Mamma hitting the wrong key again! At least the heat is down a bit.

Does anyone keep a favorite trinket, or plushie near the computer? I have a little Merryl doll, and keep it near the computer, along with some small toys== a favorite is a little mechanical wind up turtle a friend gave me.... wind it up, and the turtle sways while it walks, and his little tail spins around in the back.

I just got a small Spike figure... I guess that is a little odd to add with Merryl. I do have a little Wolfwood and Vash figure--- I think I will get the Legato miniature figure, and Midvalley the Hornfreak! Well, the weather is cool tonite, so I will hop into bed early.... its been a long day. I guess if any more typing is to be done, I'll let Merryl do it! Sweet dreams to wonderful friends....

Sending you all a canyon sunset, like I can see from my bedroom window. Hello DarkKiba where every you are this evening!

Love, and peace, and biscotti!

HTML-- It just don't come easy (for me)
Well, Sunday evening.. but it was so good to have the weekend. i AM experimenting with the site, so its changing, maybe looking strange at times. A big thanks to Dark Kiba for lots of helpful hints! And everyone else who has offered tips. This weekends treat was getting hooked up through T Mobile-- I fall asleep when i sit in the house for a long time. Also , this connection is really fast! Wow! Breaking the speed of dial up, how liberating! Hot tuna!!!!

Well, in early September, I will go visit Charly (my dad) which will be fun. No drawing today-- my hand is kind of wracked up.
But, some photos... I did find the donut peach and it will be up later.

A wonderful evening to good friends! Panda, watch out for that dust! Kitsune, hope you had a fun weekend! Caprice, hope all is well. I will get around to sites a little later. Hugs to you!

Found this when BigM and I took a walk back East with our cameras around a garden.....

Love and Peace!

OK, here is the donut peach (it is really called that, and by the way, they are delicious white peaches!)
