   Saturday, oh yes!

If Vash lived in So. Cal over the past 2 mos, I do believe he'd be sitting in ice cubes with fans. So I drew the little sketch. With color it was too much data for fanart, so the black and white ink sketch is in fanart, and I'll put the colored sketch here.

I met my really nice neighbor this morning, and the sky is cool, so we took a walk. How wonderfully delicious to breath in air, that smells fresh, with pine (it grows in the canyon).! When its been humid, even the air smelled funny. But all that was nothing compared to the dust storms that PANDA posted about and showed a picture of! Yikes, now that is truly scary weather. But today is a day I can get somethings done, maybe finally make the choice about change to my ISP, start slowly organizing things, and maybe a treat of some chai, and sketching down at Borders or Barnes and Nobles. I have been searching for the image of donut peaches, I hope I did not erase it. One year, I am going to give Big M the shock of a lifetime and get organised! But today, I'll sow grass seed, have crab salad with my neighbor Peggy, and maybe go window shopping. Oh, yeah, and replace the pot I burned cooking corn! How embarrassing!

But-- tonite I will sleep well without the humidity!

A good weekend, for wonderful friends! Maybe, if you have a minute, take off your shoes, and walk in cool clover. If anyone spots a 4 leaf clover, take a picture (with your eyes at least) and savor the luck all day!

Never Burn Corn on the Cob !
Sometimes, work gets too hectic, and when Big M is away, the home chores and all just piles up! Last night , after stopping at the market, doing laundry, I settled in the big comfy chair with Patlabor the Movie, and decided to cook the fresh corn on the cob .... well, er, I fell asleep and was awakened by smoke alarms, and a pretty strange smell! Oh yes, not only did the corn kernels burn, but I managed to burn the cob as well! What an awful smell! I'm surprised the parrots did not make more of a ruckus! Well, tonite--- not even chancing the microwave because it has been a long day... the birds will be happy because I have some wonderful sweet fruit....

Including one that should be Vash's favorite.. it is called a "donut peach"-- I will add the picture tomorrow to prove it does exist.

The humidity is supposed to break this weekend-- not a moment too soon for me.

I hope to make some changes to my site. Dark Kiba is helping to give me some HTML pointers, and I have gotten great advice from Panda and Kitsune Tsuki.. You all have really been taking on a daunting task!

Thanks for the great suggestions on anime movies! They are wonderful when I have standby duty and can watch a story from start to finish.

What kinds of pets do people have? Does anyone else have a parrot? The little goose at work had been hissing and charging people, now he tries to follow people, and get in their cars! Almost as if the goose is saying "Hey, I'm really cute! Take me home". The goose still hangs with the ducks-- I think he has a slight identity problem!

A gentle good evening for wonderful friends. Maybe tonite, take a little time and gaze at the night sky... perhaps you may see a shooting star, or find the North Star, something to hook your hat to, and remind yourself of something that remains a constant.

   It Don't Come Easy!
Whew! The humidity is killing me! I know, spoiled living in So. Cali-- where it is quite nice and dry... but this feels like when I used to live back East---Maryland, New Jersey, and upstate New York. Upstate New York is beautiful, rolling hills, apple orchards.... it was fun to pick the apples, and get fresh made cider in the fall. Here, the fresh corn and giant strawberries are really tasty! Yup, did get to Mr. Manaserros" little truck farm stand. He has small plots of land scattered around, and each little plot has 2 different crops-- including vidalia onions, corn , zucchini-- its really great because I am a shameful gardner-- well, someday I'll be able to grow something other than crabgrass and weeds!

Did you ever feel like a pawn in a chess game? This picture was taken in Boca Raton FL when I went to a conference. There was an almost lifesize chess game, next to the croquet field. Pretty neat to look at! What's been something unusual that you all have seen on a vacation?

Well, time to head to a cooler area---I can't seem to get the house cool enough, so I'm going to use the standby room at work tonite. It gets cool, so I guess I can't really complain about standby duty in the summer (but I sure don't like weekend duty! This month I don't have any, and no weekends next month! Hooray!)

Here's a little charicature drawn of me when I went to AX-- I think its pretty funny. Have any of you had a charicature done?

Check out the fanart on CAPRICE 's myO site!

well, I'm going to go watch Patlabor 2 the movie again tonite. The 3 Patlabor movies and Cowboy Bebop the Movie are favorites for me--- and the Trigun series, natch! What are some good anime movies people have seen? Would love to discover more movies! Wish you all a good evening, sweet dreams and pleasant days!

Where does all the junk come from ?
Housework, BAH! I move stuff out, only to discover, overnight things seemed to have doubled! The paperwork junk is the worst! Whenever I shred something, usually I find I need it later, and it is irreplaceable! One day I will catch up with everything. But, I decided, since there is so much to do (Big M is away for 4 wks again) I took yesterday, and just stayed in my cool room, and watched anime on the DVD player, did a little knitting. I only have a 6" wide strip to complete (90" long) then I sew the panels together for a gift for Charley. I want to get a big fluffy down pillow (he really liked that when we all went to New Orleans)

What are your "unfavorite" chores to do (that you wish would do themselves) ? I don't mind the laundry cause I can do other things at the same time, but general housework gobbles up all the time I have!

Well, tomorrow will be busy. At least all the bills have been done and some photos that Big M took got into an album. He is an incredible photographer--he used film, the lenses on his camera weigh a ton! I'll get some of the pictures scanned and up. An early night for me. I did a little sketch of Vash and Wolfwood as "kitties"-- the kitty style has been done by others, but whoever started that, I think it is very cool. So, it is not my invention, but the sketch is original, I guess kind of like the chibi style is not original but people create their own chibi versions.

Have a good night, with wonderful dreams!

Hello to TheMouse, and metal inuyasha !

Can anyone guess what these odd looking things are?

Just Another Day
Well, last night was Standby-- a little excitement when I couldn't find the Summoner (pager)... fell between the seats of the car. I guess I'll have to get a big chain for it. Had to replace the cell phone, it busted ( just 2 months short of being able to get a new one for free!) Frankly, an example of planned obsolescence (making sure things bust so you keep replacing them!) Grrr! Oh, well so tried to watch my anime discs, fell asleep real early, and now have to repair that disc-- skipping like crazy.

How do you know when you are getting older.. when you get excited about getting a new vacuum cleaner! But I want to organize the house , get new floors in the kitchen, get the rugs professionally cleaned. Big M is on another trip, and I have my work cut out for me. Hope I can have a little barbeque with my neighbors, they are so nice. If I get to the little truck farm, I think I'll get some fresh corn, and strawberries! Well, time to get ready for the day. If only my little Merryl doll could type and do reports for me- can dream, can't I?

What kind of things make you happy in addition to manga and anime? Somehow, I think everyone has gotten a big grin from unexpected things... hugs to you all. Please stop by and say hello to Panda!

Feeling a little devilish...

Thought I'd share the day with Gary Larson... one of my favorite comic writers. If I had a little more energy.. the heat has mellowed down things-- the demand is there, but it is hard to get frantic without energy (LOL).

Oh, the prior picture of a guy holding a bat on his shoulder is supposed to be Lil Slugger from Paranoia Agent. Does anyone have any suggestions of some good anime movies?

With the recent flights I've been taking (and almost no portable electronics), novels have been coming with me. I just finished King of Torts by Grisham, and it is really good. If you like courtroom drama, you might enjoy this one. What are you reading now? Funny thing, when the TV is on, I always seem aware of the exact time, and passage of time. Almost as if the TV was measuring strips of time and then dispensing them. When it is quiet, and I am doing something (clean, knit, etc) sometimes I feel like I can pull the emergency cord on the runaway train called my life, and slow it to a comfortable reasonable pace just briefly. Taking a drive in the countryside does that nicely. But the heat has been a curveball-- sleep seems the perfect refuge.

I hope you all have a wonderful day-- find a pond, and a tree to sit under, enjoy the coolness, and the ducks that might come!

Be Kind to your Web Footed Friends
Yup-- an old silly song my Mom used to sing-- Be kind to your webfooted friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother...We have had another brood of ducklings on the pond... and now 2 huge great white egrets have been perching in the willow tree at work, making a racket. Could there be baby egrets on the way sooN? The temperatures here are wicked hot (over a hundred) with humidity... I feel like I'm going to melt. No energy to do anything, still haven't made a decision about cable VS DSL (still on dial up). And the cell phone busted! Well, if it can't be repaired, guess I'll get a camera phone. Lately I've been making a little wish list of things to save up for. The extra hours I got at work apparently are temporary-- and may be decreased soon (NUTS!) Well, back to the proverbial drawing board. My hand and back have been conspiring to drive me crazy-- well, all I can do there is lay down in a funky position during free time and watch anime.
(anime is good for everything!) Which animes have you all been watching-- still going through the DVD of Paranoia Agent-- very different!

And now-- a dogpile of ducklings!

Thanks for suggestions on lemonade, I will continue searching and if I get an interesting one, I will post it here. Big huggles to you all, you are wonderful friends!

Lemonade! My kingdom for lemonade...
Obviously, we are all probably quite parched, and in need of very good lemonade, Does anyone have a good recipe for lemonade? I have yet to go through all the pictures from the wedding, to make a CD for my sister in law and brother in law. Big M and I also got some wonderful nature shots as we were in Rockland Co of New York, with picturesque little towns , nestled on hiils an d riverbanks, bursting with flowers and little critters.

Still have some more AX photos and Disneyland pictures to share-- here is Vash and Legato, and California Adventure at night:

Speaking of critters, here are pictures of the little knit critters I found, which is in my giant To-do list....

Stay cool and take care! You are all wonderful friends!

De Plane!
We went to my nephew's wedding, and WOW-- it was huge! And was the kind of celebration I would imagine royalty would have. My nephew is very sweet, and so is his new bride... they are starry eyed when they look at each other, and despite raucous celebration, you can see that they don't notice anyone else in the room. That is so beautiful. Once I make the CD for my sister in law, we took some photos of flowers that were so beautiful. I really must a flower identification book.

As usual, planes and Mamma don't mix, my flight was delayed 2 hours, and then the shuttle driver from the airport got lost , ending up locked behind the gate of some little community for about an hour! No commedy writer could have dreamt this up! Will be back again later to get around to sites!

Some birds from out and about:
A hummingbird in our tree---

And a bird, sitting on the short pole in front of the firehouse on Dream Street-- wonder if he is sounding the alarm?

The Quiet Inside
A very big thanks to friends giving me their wisdom on cable, DSL. Guess I'll put the sherlock holmes hat atop my shorter spikes, while I thoughtfully clamp down on my bubble pipe and think. With the humidity, I guess my brain is dial up too, but with a constant busy signal!

When I try to post inbetween phone ringing, and interruptions, all it becomes is a while. Right now, early eveining, it is cool outside, and it feels good to have gotten everything completed for the day. Inside the house, most of the time my schedule is my own... sometimes it is fun just to poke around things that I haven't played with or explored for a while. WHEEE! Shopping in my own house. Still knit, sitting in a big chair. I feel some tension just flow out my feet with the rythmic click of the needles, almost lulling me to sleep. Blanket number 6 -- a special for Charlies who moved to a new place.. Hope he enjoys it.

Well, want to add in some more pictures from AX 2005 and Disneu 50th:

Sorry the pics are small, My mistake trying to rush them in .
I hope to get 1 more chance to get more pictures from the laser show.It was crowded , and I wanted to concentrate on the show. Definitely worth it. It takes some time to set up for night photos... still easier wit h dital than manual.

May the silver stars pin a blanket of kindness on our world, so well can awaken to a little bit better tomorrow. Love and peace!Catch you tomorrow (I'll get a big cup of coffee before posting)
