Another Trip
Doesn't take long to have to shift into high gear fast. (at work) I know I go too fast when reports get misplaced, I leave my lunch home, etc. Well, around here that's basically business as usual.

I want to thank everyone for all the encouragement and kindness. You all have been the candle in the darkness.

Next week I'll be going to a conference. The nice thing is it is totally casual-- shorts etc-- no business suits. And I will be meeting up with some colleagues from a long time ago! (over a decade....) So they have not seen the spikey hair do. That will be good for some laughter. My biologic daddy (nicknamed Charley though his name is Sam) is moving in July, so I am trying to finish a blanket for him, and send him a decadent big down pillow for the new apt. I want to spoil him while I can. Big M is away. The conference is in Boca Raton, FL. Vash wants a coconut, because Kenshin promised to open it correctly. It will be a good break as I have not been able to attend for the past 5 years. Must find my big hat!

Big HUGS to all-- will be adding some pictures later!

Step by Step
I feel like I am moving in slow motion, and still feel a bit stunned. I have been trying to re-start knitting blankets for the homeless program. It helps me to feel a bit of usefulness. The persimmons are still small but growing-- they look like little green tomatoes. I will try to take a picture. Thank you all so much for your concerns. I will try to get around to sites through the day. Yep, back to work for Mamma, and the parrots are back in the house too. But even they have been a little quiet.

Love to friends, and thanks. Please do say hello to Panda--she has a lot to contend with right now, but is a really neat lady!

Sadness

I know this picture has been posted before, but it kinda fits. My father in law became ill. I helped to care for him for 5 years. He passed away last week. He was 91. He had a wonderful sense of humour. Like Vash, I have an extremely hard time with loss. So I thought re-posting the geranium would be appropriate. Hugs to friends, because you all have given more to me than you know! I will be back again...

......
We have had several family issues appear, so I will probably continue to be away for a few days. You are great friends, and I probably should have noted this sooner! But someone once reminded me, Life is what happens while we are busy making plans! (hugs)

Survived the Week!
If I typed any faster at work, I swear my fingers would be smoking! Looks like another peek a boo day with clouds. Gah! so tired by the weekend! Corrections-- the parrot does not like trolls (Big M is high on precision). Ran around the back yard trying to get a picture of a humming bird-- I swear he's teasing. Perches on a branch briefly, flies off as soon as I get him in focus! I don't know what yesterdays flowers are, wish I did. Well, wishing my friends a fruitful weekend (forgot to load the pics yesterday!)

Clouds
Well, a little bit more rain, and the freeways began to flood. I swear in part, after living in California, I think I have become partly solar powered. Strange thing is I am no fan of the heat. Our persimmon tree is showing the beginnings of fruit, and the poor peach tree has only 1 peach. The backyard looks as disorganised as my home "office". BigM makes a face when I call it that, muttering something about it looks like something else. Maybe I should shame myself and show a picture of it, but actually, it is so bad, I dont think I would dare (and this is partially re-organised!). Slowly I am re-starting to knit to make my blankets. I am now on blanket #5. I will try to take pictures.
Getting organised is hard for me, as most time is spent at work . Hoping I can work back to fulltime eventually.

May your day be "fruitful" today..
you are wonderful friends. And may you all bask in the warmth of friends and family.

All or None
Seems like many routine days, then everything is shuffled all at once. I'll be going away in May to a conference in Florida (I have missed that one for the past 2 years due to obligations) It will be good to meet up with some long time colleagues. I did get a picture of the geranium, and as a Trigun fanatic, I will post that here.
It's also been quite a switch adjusting to changed hours after 11 years. Now I think just shy 7h from full time. The baby ducks on the pond are growing fast. I only was able to get 1 pic but here it is:
Sorry I've been away , but there have also been some difficult things that right now I would prefer not to elaborate. Big M and I are doing well and he is in So Cal this week which is really good.

Hugs to friends, I will get to sites a little later. Love you all!

T. G. I. F
sigh.. another work day. Whatever schedule I get, it is fried in 1 hour. Sometimes, I feel like Houdini magically finding more than 24 hours in a day. But groan, now there is much catch up chores to do! And the parrots have been screaming lately! I have to charge up the camera batteries-- but I found a huge geranium bush (Vash wants a picture!) And saw the baby ducks! They dissappear in moderate grash, but when they swim near the fountain they are pulled by the water. Sometimes they bounce around like popcorn balls! Hope we dont get rain when the bateries get charged.. we are 1.1 " away from an all time record! Well, if the extra hours last long enough, I ca hire someone to steam the carpets (they look bad! doesn't help that the hall entrance is through the garage!). Well, 2 more odd pictures:

The back strikes again
Just when I thought my back was starting to settle, we had rain, and well, I had to miss work on Monday. But I have returned. Our ducks at work have had babies! But they stay well hidden. Meanwhile, the big ducks show up in unexpected places--- and ran at me in groups of 3. Not everyone gets mugged by ducks! Seems we have wily weather for a bit, but the hills are already starting to get brown , as they do every summer. I will try to get around to visit.
