Taking one Step at a Time
Boo-yah! I did the new assignment on Wednesday! It was actually kind of interesting. More than that, when anxious I kept going forward. I have been looking to increase my hours for a long time. It's nice to add something different. But it's nicer to be able to say Yes, I can for a change. This weekend I hope I can spend some time with photography. My friend and I had dinner together to celebrate the longer week. Hope to start drawing again, even small doodles. Here's something I found growing wild just around my corner. Hoping everyone has a great weekend.

Sometimes worry is the bogeyman---what we haven't tried and fret about can be grow to be the worst monster imagined. Sometimes, once we try, we find the monster is only a little cricket. Friends help us through it... when we get scared, just remembering someone's warm smile can bring hope and courage. Just ask Mamma, the Cowardly Lion!

Asleep Again
Well, the weekend was beautiful from what I saw from the bedroom window. So many plans, next thing I knew, asleep again. Even a good movie could not keep me fully awake. Guess working all the late nights caught up with me ! I even fell asleep with a good manga in my hands. Guess I could get a job as 1)matress tester or 2)statue of sleeping person. Well, time for work. This is when I start new duties each Wednesday. A little nervous, but I think this can be good.

Plans always change
Somehow, I make big plans to review, and go places (to pick up new texts for review), clean house and they make very good sense and seem reasonable the day before, but when the day arrives, it takes so long to wake up, that I find those plans seem too big that day. Time for getting in the sun again, maybe taking my stuff to the park.
3 robins landed in my yard. I'm told that is good luck. And I spend so much time away from the parrots... well, I'll try to do a little reading here. Funny thing, the big bird Ramana starts hollering when I read. She wants attention. Believe me, an Amazon can really zing a walnut at you! We'll just play it by ear.

The Lessons of Flowers
The anime Trigun emphasizes sympols flowers stands for, particularly geranium for determination and courage. Well, looking at some of the odder things growing around So Cali, one doesn't need a symbol book.

This one snagged me literally. I smiled and thought, it tells me life is sweet and thorny. We choose which to dwell on--looking hard enough, there can be something good we may find later.

The next pic is called a bottlebrush, because the flower gets long, like it has the purpose to clean up bottles. It was a surprise to find this, just growing along the walk way. And tells me , though the hills are browning, and flower season is waning, don't be in too much of a hurry to overlook surprises.

It's starting to warm up outside, and denim is a bit warm. So , I'll take my cues from nature, enjoy some tea or soda, and kick off my shoes. And finish reading one of my manga/ It's OK to take a break, and just have some fun . And I think that's the biggest lesson learned from my short walk today. I'll see what else is around tomorrow, when I go to the bookstore, and work at some "serious" stuff. But not today-- enjoy my friends what you find around you, those seem to be the most special and gifted instructors I have met. I hope your lives are brightened by Nature, and that your friendship is returned at least double!

Strange places
Everyday when I drive into work, I pass this hill that looks like it belongs in the Stone Age. With all the other scenes of So Cali, it looks like something from a time warp, so I want to share it:

Computers are begining to seem like aliens that have minds of their own also. My home and work computers do things that seem to baffle me at times. I need to learn a little more (actually a lot more) but at least I am becoming curious, and reading a little about our canned programs, and trying do understand how to use them better... it gets a little tiring working until 8 or 9 at night. Besides, it feels like cobwebs are forming between my ears. This weekend is free, so I will try to take some short walks with my camera. I'll be starting to do new things at work on Wednesdays I havent done for a while, so time to fire up the brain, and get in the swing of learning things again. Time to get out of my rut. BigM has been very tired, all the travelling. How he could do that, and then spend most free hours on the work computer is beyond me. Well, time to try and learn some things, which is both exciting and a bit scary. This weekend will be looking for things with the camera close to home, reviewing, and reading the manga I've saved. Now I can savor the stories. I found Cowboy Bebop:Outlaw Star---like the new story (don't like how Spike is drawn, but the story is a unique turn) and Trigun Max 4 has some really cool turns. So I guess now is time to get brain in gear, and look for new and different things. And to watch out...the young ducks at work nearly ganged up on me looking for food! How many people almost get mugged by ducks? Now there's something that Monty Python could probably have a ball with!

Been Aching
Been in bed for 4 days, and not finding a single comfortable position, so I have been away from the computer. Going back to work tomorrow. Spent a little time putting away BigM's pictures and negatives-- he's really good. I have been getting addicted to YuGuOh, then during the last several days not on in the afternoons, so I play my DVD (yep, Trigun and Bebop) Visit sites tomorrow, would you believe I have night patrol! Hope it is quiet! Love you all, but my arms don't reach from upstairs! Take care!

Just Hanging Out
Last dental appointment! Then, did nothing the rest of the day. It bothers my hand to sketch,so I decided this is a good time for do nothing day. Big M is in the Netherlands, and my back hasn't fully quieted. on 4/20 my hours will increase, so I have to find a way to do the increased work without aggravating my hand too much. But the new work will be different, and could stimulate my brain a bit. Haven't read Trigun Max 4 yet... still saving it up. Well, here come the DVDs tonite again. Saw the original Ghost in the Shell movie... Well, not much else today. Hope your spring days are warm and kind!

JUST A FREE DAY..

Showers Bring Flowers!
The walking trail is filled with tall wildflowers...I'll let some pictures do the talking...

Well, forgot to set the clock ahead, but I got up and took some pictures as the sun helps to adjust to time changes. It has been odd to see the California poppy crowded out by different wildflowers. Soon, as temperatures rise, all turns brown, but for a brief moment, there is a wild glorious burst of colour! Though it fades, once you've seen this, it remains a long time in memory. Just wanted to share with my friends.... hope all the colds, and aches feel a bit better, and soon fade, or at least become bearable. As it is the weekend, I'll try to finish some chore (like linishing stitching up blanket #4, and other odd tasks) HUGGLES! to wonderful friends who are as perenial as the skies!

Come Saturday Morning
A very old song, but a favorite. Today I did nothing but lay down and watch anime. Sometimes, I "watch" by turning over and just listening. My poor disks are getting worn out-- Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop, the Movie, and Amadeus. I love Tom Hulces giggle, and yes, I love classical music as well as Yoko Kanno. It used to drive BigM crazy-- before anime-- Amadeus every night to go to sleep. He was secretly glad when the tape broke. Then a good friend gave me another Amadeus tape as a gift. He has since surrendered. At least with anime, there is some more variety. Do you all find a favorite song or DVD is played very often? Well, looks like the rains here have stopped for a while. Tomorrow, I should get up and do some photography. Today was Vegetable day....sometimes I need that. as they say, tomorrow is another day! Bills, more house tasks, and gearing up for more hours during the week (I'll start that in 2 weeks) and doing technical look ups can wait after photography. I even slept through getting my hair cut-- it is now without shape, just kinda messy. Hopefully, I will get the buttercups to post for you. Hugs for wonderful friends...

Too Easy to Fool
I am too gullible for my own good--so April fool day my jaw drops open all day and I say Wow I didn't know that to almost everything! The worst today was someone told me that the county I live in was rebelling against daylight savings, so not to change my clock. I was so happy! (I hate losing that hour of sleep) By the end of the day, everyone was laughing... so one co-worker told me it was April fool. She didn't have the heart to break my state of ecstasy. Oh, well. I guess that is another trait you could say I share with Vash...my body gets older, but sometimes I continue to see the world like a child...until all of our phones went out! That was real. At least it was the end of the day. Big M is in San Diego, and ready to go out taking pictures. I can't mount them fast enough! Thank heavens for digital! Tomorrow, I will photograph the buttercups on the walking trail. Tonite, its anime, and peanut butter and jelly. I haven't had that for so long! Hope you all had a fun Apr 1! ( I really wish the clock thing were true! That was a good one!) And the weekend means I can stretch out/// still a bit of a back flare, but back to work. Hugs for terrific friends!
