Gone with the Wind
Big M is off again tomorrow. And with the new company, he totes a notebook and I hear him tapping for hours. And I thought I had a paperwork mountain. We saw some very cool movies-- one about a supersonic plane developed in Canada in the 1950's and subsequent surprising actions. It was really good. He is off again tomorrow to San Diego, then in a few days to the Netherlands. I worry a bit when he travels, but Suitcase Man doesn't seem to fret about much. I seem to do the fretting for both of us! A week sounds so long, and poof it is over so quick! I'll have to get a picture of the buttercups before they get mowed, but my back got me again on Tuesday. The parrots try to keep me company, but I get frustrated with it! That recently is seeming to be my favorite word. Well, I got a copy of Trigun Max 4...I almost feel like I'm saving it up! Been trying to catch Yu Gi Oh, and enjoying that! I want more Megas XLR!

The one constant lately has been the egret. He flies in at 7AM and then leaves at 5pm. I wonder if he has to use a punch clock? He looks so regal, I got a few pictures, and will try to post one.

HUGS to my wonderful friends! I'll try to get around to sites (when the Internet isn't in use... glad I have a cell phone. Poor Big M is on the machine for hours...)

The Persistent Peach Tree

Our little peach tree burst into blossoms. This is quite a feat for a little tree invaded by vines, and overshadowed by our neighbor's huge pine tree. My back and hand limit how much of the offenders I could cut back. I felt sure we would have no blossoms. The tree is only 4 feet tall, and it seemed most of the branches were dead. On a sunny Easter morning, out pop several blossoms. Several hummingbirds swarmed about, including a rare somewhat orange colored hummer (most are olive). Another Easter surprise from Nature, and a lesson.

When outside things encroach and steal your sunshine, hang in there. You may not get everything you hoped for, but may be surprised by what does happen. Those blossoms are few, but from the hummingbirds actions, they must be very fragrant. The picture is of one of the peach blossoms.

Good friends are the sunshine of life, that break through clouds, vines, and any other interruptions. Hugs to you , I'm glad you are there.

BigM's Little Helper

Ah, home again! Spent the last 3 days in the standby room rather than drive home. BigM is travelling, weather was unpredictable, working very late to complete the all essential paperwork. The way paperwork has been influencing life recently, I feel like I should make some kind of shrine to it, and burn incense! Tonite I'm home, and took a minute from The Big Clean to put away photos and negatives. Big M travels a lot and had taken some awesome pictures. I want to surprise him with another album. Well, I found pictures of him and Dr. Who, our little troublemaking parrot. Dr. Who loves pockets, and tries to help out BigM (he would snap and nip me ! He finally stopped that 2 years ago.) He is a total attention seeker. It is weird he loves to make kissing noises (think about that-- parrots don't have lips!) I took the picture when BigM was doing taxes, and Dr. Who decided to help with the calculations! It feels great to be home, watch the parrots, sort through pictures, and quaff a root beer without a straw! Mucho thanks, Yami Loni for the idea of National Do Nothing Day! Any suggestions when it should be celebrated?

BigM will be here on Monday. For a week, then off again. I would lose it if I had to travel as much as he does. I've been taking DVD's when I use the stand by room..the movie Ghost in the Shell is really good. The art styles in anime , and variety of characters is amazing... even when I see it multiple times, I find another new piece. This will be a weekend to breathe, unwind. Maybe I could teach the parrot to type. Between that and my Merryl doll, wow-- I could use the time say, maybe to explore a timewarp...
Vash:huh?
Jet: I think she means enter a wormhole
Kuroneko:Just as long as the sunny spot is left for me to bask in....

So many thanks to friends who visitied and supported me recently...HUGS and the happiest of Eastertimes to you! You have brought out the rebirth of spring with kindness and humour....you know it will return to you all multiplied. Happy Spring!

National Do Nothing Day
Sorry been away...weekend Night Patrol was bad, getting called every couple of hours, going in both Saturday and Sunday, and the rest of the week, my butt was kicked by the schedule. I really like Yami Loni's idea-- there should be a national do nothing-- where phones don't ring, there's no mail, and anyone trying to add obligations to your free day is exiled to an overbusy office for life! BigM is travelling, and the phone has been ringing late nights. The rains are intermittent, but hit so hard when I was on the freeway I almost couldn't see. I screamed at BigM yesterday (dental work and mandatory work meeting was the last straw). That was not right. Like the upside down duck picture I had, I forgot to breathe. I also forgot to keep looking forward, and duck when the stuff hits the fan! I stamped my feet (even the parrots where not impressed) when I had to go into the mandatory meeting.. so I grabbed some anime DVD, remembered to stop and look at the buttercups-- almost 3 feet high. With today's rain, they will be like Jack's beanstalk. But seeing large patches covering the mountains, appearing almost overnight is awesome. They leave so quickly. And really, when I let go, bad things go away faster. I prefer to hold on to things that make me smile, or feel warm. Happy Spring to friends! Try to celebrate where you can! Now, if I can get a straw in my mouth with the novocaine still strong and not dribble all over, this will be an accomplishment!

But, at least this Sunday, I will be able to nibble a bit of chocolate!

The Best Made Plans...
Well, I figured with a day off, I could get a lot of house stuff done, but somehow whenever I plan to do chores, something comes up. Another dental appointment (one to go), then other things pop up. I was disappointed I could not finish what I planned, but that seems to be the norm. What I want is to get the obligations finished, to be able to sit and enjoy a peaceful moment, without "gotta do". The one line to do list helps. Maybe I am looking for the impossible, but one day I'm gonna sit in my kitchen, with some tea or cocoa, watch the birds and say to myself "And I don't have to do anything else today".

So if you find yourself in a peaceful moment, savor it-- And I wish my friends many of these!

Questions asked, question answered
Conneryalexis had an interesting post-- ask any 4 questions, but then answer them also. I asked what time period would you live in, would you change how you lived your life, what animal would you be, and if you could know the future, would you want to. I am hesitant about changes, and don't wait well, and worry about things I know are coming up so I would not want to know the future. And I think knowing the future would rob me of surprises.
I would not want to change the time I lived in, and for the most part would not change the way I lived. I guess that I could lose a lot of good things, like friends, my spouse. I do want to get more organized and making small changes will get me there.
But anime and art allow me to take a break from the serious side of things, to see beauty and the magic of imagination!
.

Well, another day.. here the night sky is clear, and the moon is a bright cresent. Stars are just beginning to glow. My friends, take a break, put today behind, and take a glimpse of the night sky. Enjoy the show! And the candle is in the window to send warmth and good wishes, for friendship is a lifeline that helps get us through. Huggles!

.....
Been busy, then last night my back went out. (fell over a rug a few years ago) so just a quickie to say I'm here. Day time TV is bleh! Big M is going from one trip to another... that's really hard on him, I worry. Trying to focus my mind. Thank the Universe for friends !

Trudging
My mind is definitely moving faster than I can! I can see what needs to be done (especially at the house) but I guess I underestimated how long it takes to get over the dental stuff. I feel like a turtle, so slowly I move, I could be mistaken for a rock! I have missed anime for about 3 days (fallen asleep or obligations). It will feel good to get big things out of the way (especially dental-- ) When most things are looking like a wave that's going to wipe me out, I try to step outside and find a new blossom or something that surprises me and helps me to continue on. I've been trying to make one line to do list-- listing the essential thing to get done that day, and say anything else is gravy. And have to remind myself that "no" and "sorry, but it gets done tomorrow" ARE part of the vocabulary.

But the warm hearts of friends are reality too, and its important , especially when things are a bit tough to remember they are always there!

And though you may not hear them all the time, when you anticipate a wave of overwhelming fear, stop to remember them. They will give you strength and courage. And like a turtle, one moves steadilly forward. HUGS!

Another Day in La-La Land
Just when I thought I was used to the oddness of So Cal, things get even odder! Protests in Venice Beach, strange court trials... well never a dull moment. More dentistry, except this round really hurt! Bless Conneryalexis for the tips about Oreo pudding! I have about 5 ways to make rice now. A new anime store openned, but it is as far as the other store. But it has Yoko Kanno CD and I found a new one. And the selection and quantities of DVD is great. Our ducks are quacking me up-- they chase each other into thick ivy (that's also where they hide in heavy rains). I've been getting opportunities to see Yu Gi Oh on TV, which is cool. A friend got tickets to the King Tut exhibit in October in L. A. That will be exciting! The Trigun animanga vol 1 is out, but I am still waiting for Trigun Max vol 4. Big M is travelling a lot-- he says he feels he's living out of a suitcase !

Well. here are the commando docks hiding in the ivy!
