Gloriously No Obligations!
It always struggle with guilt that I am not taking take of business-- the house, organizing things, etc. I seem to always feel like the To Do list looks over my shoulder when I try to steal a little "fuN" time. Well, today I decided to say "Nuts! I'll blow the WHOLE day, and do whatever my fancy is, and just let the pressure go. Have fun doodling around, then get back to business. I took my camera and off I went....I'm still resizing them, but all the things I saw! The crazy weather with rain, now into the 80's has confused the trees and flowers, so about half of them popped open in January! (It's usually a little later). But it made for some interesting photos.

And I found a soda siphon-- to make club soda. I have some flavored syrups, and sometimes like to have Mounds flavored soda (coconut and chocolate sugarless syrups with club soda, mmm. And Kiwi flavour, or lime). When I get real busy at work, sometimes I am still working and the cafeteria closes, and I forgot to bring water or soda. This was when working late, I can at least make a little treat to keep going. I guess the best thing to do would go and take some computer classes---then I might be able to make report generators that would really help. And I want to master this little beast.
Herbie is behaving himself again. Thank you so much, Kitsune Tsuki ! I defragged like you suggested, ran the virus program a second time, and looked for updates.. found one. Herbie is running like he should. I sketched a little, and began to settle down a bit. Hopefully, I will hit the ground running tomorrow. this weekend is the dreaded Night Patrol, and some of the trainees have been slow responding, leaving it to the OF Brigade! (Old Fart) Some snicker, and sometimes state that they don't think we can handle it.. well I've been doing that for....forever, and am much faster and able to handle some weird situations that surprises our new folks . I just resent that it cuts into other things I have to do,especially weekends. But at least this week I had fun with my camera (good thing about digital is no cost for the film, I am still learning!)

Seeing the early buds ready to pop open reminded me of the hope of new beginnings in Nature. Storms, earthquakes, mudslides, and after a few days of sun, Gaea shows perseverance, and signs of hope that perhaps a season of comfort is on the way.

For my friends who are not feeling well, I hold up a cup of chicken soup and offer a toast of Kampai! I am almost infamous for getting colds, well today I smiled as I found a drive up window where I can get chicken soup ! As cold#2 is still here, this is handy! (No cooking facilities for lunch)

Together, somehow we will get there. You folks are the best!

Big M took a picture of a swan in the wild, so I will add it here. Enjoy!

Those rank among the most frustrating words.. like when you are really thirsty, put coins in a beverage machine only to have all the buttons light up "empty". LOL! Yesterday I tried to post and get to sites but all Herbie (the computer) would do is flash up CANNOT FIND SERVER! most of the times I tried to access anything.

Does anyone have some magical incantations for a naughty computer? Oh, well, using a different one for right now,but no scanner access. I'll look at Herbie tonite. Gotta learn more about 'puters, net, HTML. (enough to not hide under the bed when strange messages appear).

The first computer I had was a Mac. A very striaghtforward machine--- the first thing I managed to do was put the operating system in the trash can , then I turned it off! The next time I used it, when it beeped, I rolled under the table! Big M howled laughed stating, the thing is plastic and wires-- that he doubted seriously it would blow up. Then my famous retort (used usually when I am scared):HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT !

I'll be coming around to visit sites today!

I wish my friends in the midwest and east where out here--its 80 today! Tomorrow isa day off-- should get the house done, but maybe I'll also take some pictures during the day.

::hands cups of tea and cocoa, yes with marshmallows:: to friends, hoping that this makes for a sweeter day!

BIOHAZARD

Friday, the work day was short and sweet! EVERYTHING complete by 4:30! And pay day to boot! WHEE! And it was not raining! Time for serious shopping! 2 pairs of jeans-- one is bell bottoms! (excuse me, flares) and a butterfly sleeved shirt. New PJs, and an anime movie called Memories, which is 3 short stories, an dthe music CD from it by Yoko Kanno. Of course I decided it was so appropriate to get the Merryl figure-- complete with desk and typewriter! LOL My heroine, she can jump large piles of paperwork in a single bound!...err, wrong comic. After all the shopping, I stopped for a treat. Old fashioned cherry coke!

Well I hurried home with my treasures, and did not even hit traffic! So, of course I woke up this morning with a fever and cold! I feel like a Biohazard! I guess that its time for some Chickarina soup again!

Put up a little original anime sketch of rain girl. Hope you all like it!

Wishing double happiness to all my wonderful friends (that this life and the afterlife are both wonderful).!

Heya!
Late post today...really exhausted!(took a brief nap before posting) Lots of stuff at work to do.. look out! It's a paper avalanche! Oh no! My buds Angel and Hope wandered into my office at the end of the day. All of hair was somewhat tousseled, and the 3 Musketeers looked like they had been in another fracas. Another marathon meeting! But fear not, because Bean Boss is still on vacation. There is hope for Team TRip! I am still sore, but less so. Maybe I will stop grinding my teeth... Though I am not on Night Patrol, I was too tired to drive home-- an early start without the drive will be better. Luckilly , I have a little DVD player, and of course anime DVD disks in the car. Which anime do I watch tonite...fooled you--- Cowboy Bebop! I love the episode where the little dog Ein first appears. Hope has 2 little doggies that look like Ein. They are too cute.

Well, if only Tomato could fly like Swordfish II, I wouldn't have to be concerned about traffic back ups!

Thank you for your comments about the last pic. It was drawn with several people in mind. Sometimes I wish I could hand a little basket of fun things or goodies through the screen..People have reached out and touched me during some rough times, I hope I can in some way pass that on

OK-- a really bad joke:
Knock knock...
Who's there...
Tangerine

Knock knock...
Who's there...
Tangerine

Knock knock...
Who's there...
Orange...
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say tangerine!

I'll be round to sites tomorrow (work didn;t finish until 8 pm, and I just could not drive after 12 hours!) Hopefully, tomorrow will be short and sweet.

Watch the stars tonite, and see the ballet!

So much to do, so little time
Today is distraction city. I've got a couple of projects going simultaneously, and it just seems hard to be focused. No biggie issues. After another appointment with the dentist, I was sore, so I decided to drive and listen to music. It was so nice driving in the sunshine, past the regional parks. I found a new anime store, and got to talk to Panda (check out her site and articles! She rocks!) Its been cold here but then warmed up briefly close to 70. Whaaa?

I want to re-organize the house. It gets hard to keep up everything, Big M goes on a lot of trips, and I have lots of commitments. One year I will get organized. Well , another night to retire early and watch TV as I feel pretty sore. Another day, another dollar--- but that;s tomorrow. Time to cuddle up in my comforter as the night time temps slide downward. And tonite the skies are clear, I can see the stars once again.

Love and peace! My friends, you are always on my mind.

I drew another little picture, for my friends who have been home, or not feeling well, or feeling down. Hope the little pic gives a smile.

How long can I Tread Water
Wow, you all must be kind of tired to the water and weather reports, but there has not been much else recently. Today the sun peeked out a bit YAY! But when I drove back to the canyon, it started raining again. I live in Orange Co. and the canyons with the mudslides where in Ventura Co and LA County (a little further north, but enough to make a difference).

Last time I went to Anime Club, they had a Merryl figurine, complete with suitcase, cape and typewriter! Its about 4" tall so I can stand it next to the monitor at work (being only in my line of site). I think I will get it my next trip (maybe when the avalanche of reports comes in, then there will be something to make me laugh at that , rather than grind my teeth). Sorry I didn't get around to many sites today...

Got home tonite at 8PM --- just wanted to leave a little note we are OK, just a bit soggy. More dental work (revisions from the fractured tooth... see what damage paperwork causes~ LOL!)

Catch you all on the other side of starshine! Love and peace to my friends. Time to sleep.. perchance to dream......

Noah, pick up the Phone !
Still raining! Yesterday was a record breaker for So. Cal-- 3.5" of rain in 24 hrs! The backyard is a mushy marsh. Now some of the stranger things are occurring, like sinkholes! However, the weather seems to be crazy and severe everywhere!Gaiea must be having tantrums! If anyone knows where the legendary ark builder is, tell him fax me the blueprints for an ark.!

The bigger parrot, Ramana B. Bird however is used to the rain now. She is coming out of her house to enjoy a walnut. She is capable of cracking them open herself. That is something to watch:

When Ramana was younger, she used to kick and fumble half of the shell and it seemed to be the best toy around. Now she is older, and a more "sohpisticated lady". She tries to reach the fireplace mantel to chew on the wood! She likes a challenge !

Check out the Otaku Boards-- some interesting discussions in Otaku Lounge.

For those folks returning to college or starting college, I wonder what you all are majoring in? I majored in biology (that's when the wheel was invented!)

Also, some suggestions regarding my avatar--- which do you like better-- new mamma vash, or the earlier one of mamma with a bun? I'm going to look in the HTLM book to see how a poll is constructed and then repost both avi's. Gives me something new to learn.!

Depending on where you live, stay warm, stay dry, take your umbrella and galoshes, and a good coat. Though the weather is stormy, my friends make this a good day indeed.!

Calling Noah

Day 4 of raining....my backyard is beginning to get very marshy. It's a bit different to have so much rain for so many days in a row. Today was doing bills, and trying to knit a little. A quiet weekend. The solarium in the kitchen started to leak a little.. so when the rain stops its plastic tarp and caulking gun (the leak appears to be low) My kitchen has a solarium, that is glass from 2 feet above the floor to the ceiling, and a glass ceiling. Generally we have had no problems with leaks during the rains, but after 10 years and exceptional rain, I found some water today. This is what I see outside the solarium:

Sheets of water washing down the solarium walls!

The tapping of the rain has been lulling me to sleep so not much has been done this weekend. I have a feeling tomorrow will be really busy. No pictures tonite, just a bit to sleepy/lazy.

Wishing a beautiful week to all my friends!

Saturdays!
Today is Saturday! After waking up, I heard the rain, lighly tapping on the window. It's almost hypnotic. Although it was morning, even the parrots were asleep. I did the right thing, turned over, dove into my big fluffy pillow and snoozed. Tomorrow seems like the right time to clean the house, do the bills, etc. We have been having a lot of rain, but it is intermittent now, and somehow I can justify more sleep time because the rain is present.

Really do not need an excuse to sleep in. I have to laugh when I hear really lame excuses (like the dog ate my homework)---they are pretty funny! What is the funniest excuse you have used, or someone used on you!

Well, hoping all my friends are enjoying their Saturday, and that the weekend is a good one. Time to just relax and watch a movie!

I finished a Vash pic-- a little more serious tone .

Enjoy the day!

Well, I'll be a Monkey's Uncle!
That's a really old phrase, and has nothing to do with what is happening really, except that I have a cute photograph from my trip to the zoo....

And for bird lovers, here is a photo of birds of paradise (flowers):

It seems everyone is getting some wild weather... I wonder what has stirred up the recent wild storms. Hope everyone is feeling OK, and is snug and safe! Check out KitsuneTsuki's story in her post of 1/5... its really good. I enjoy reading good poetry and stories.. lots of talent here.

Back at work, its been a fairly quiet week, which is good. Middle of the road is good. I'm sorry for boring you all, but sometimes that is good for me.

What are your favorite animes, or favorite characters?I guess it is fairly obvious that Vash is my favorite, but I also like Jet Black--- a real Renaissance man, literate, compassionate, and he cooks too! An interesting blend.. and also Ein and Ed of Bebop because they are so funny.

Well, I'll say bye for now--- 2 candles in the window to wish my friends to be safe and healthy, and for a piece of happiness to come to you, sometime tomorrow, and the day after that!
