TOOOT!
Yup, the noon time whistle.! Break out the lunch pails, while you straddle the girder to have your sandwich. Oh, that's right, I live in a small windowless box.
Oops! So far today is going at a reasonable pace, so that I can spend most of it with people, rather than paper! That's good. This morning as I filled the parrots' bowls with seeds, I heard BUMP! BUMP! BAM!. The parrots were scrambling around the cages sqawking loudly! Not usual (that's for when I arrive home , or Big M comes home from a long business trip). Then BUMP! rumble! BAM! We had a tembloy, small earthquake. Nothing fell, nothing broke. When I lived in Cucamonga (yes, that is a real town, now called Rancho Cucamonga) there were some small faults under the town, so temblors there -- very small ones, were actually frequent enough. But the canyon is about 40 miles away from a fault. I don't think the Richter scale reading was more than a 4. I'll check and add it later. So. Cal is pretty well prepared--- many bridges and highways have been retrofitted with extra earthquake proofing. The building I work in is only 5 stories, and it sits on huge rubber bushings, so the shaking is not felt much when it happens, and little damage.

Just one of the oddities in California.

How is everyone surviving all the storms, snow and ice! What's the weather doing in everyone's local area?

Well, guess I'll finish that sandwich now. The only high object to fall off is my little office chair.

A wonderful day to my friends! You're posts, stories and art really do make my day better.

Day 5 of the Year
Yami Loni is back ! Yayfulness! Check out her art, its really very good! Its a quiet day, and I'll get to see a new Yu Gi Oh episode. One day I would like to get a DVD recorder because I too often fall asleep during movies. I think I will do a few sketches of the guys in different period fashion. Yesterday was Vash as a hippie (some how that does seem to fit)Well, I couldn't resist drawing Wolfwood in a disco suit! That is part of a sketch-- i'll finish that other part later.

For Ozy J, I'm looking for pictures of zoot suits and ganster suits of the 30's. One of the search engines should have it. Kitsune Tsuki--- hope that your cold is better! I loved the microbes! WOOT!

Well, still not going out much except to work. Guess I'll pick up my knitting again. Here are 2 pics of the blankets I made and gave to the homeless program. Working on number 4 right now, and putting the finishing on #3.

Catch you all a little later.

Back to the Salt Mines
Well, we shuffled off back to wor today, not quite ready to rejoin the rat race. Let's just say that the work cafeteria's version of chicken soup is waving a chicken feather over a bucket of dishwater.... AAACK! Oh, well, its hard to wrecked pre=packaged orange juice. If paperwork were gold, woot! I would be a rich bird indeed!

Funny , how routine seems to put a padlock on creativity, but I can't blame it all on routine, the virus keeps chasing me.

Check out KitsuneTsuki -- her pictures of Kohaku cosplay are hysterical! You are in for a treat (post of 01/04/05). If I am incoherent, please excuse, brain cells do not thrive in excess heat!

I was thinking about all the strange fashions through the decades...Zoot suits and flappers (20's), poodle skirts and bobby sox and saddle shoes (50's), and the bellbottoms, peasant shirts and other assorted things (oh yes, love beads!) of the late 60's. All rather strange things indeed. My fevered brain thinks-- How did these things come about? Well, like how did reality TV happen? No one knows, only the shadow.

Thank you to my friends who have been rooting for the cold to cease. Chicken soup, orange juice and plain stubborness will hopefully get the job done. I drew a pic of Vash as a hippie--- wonder how Wolfwood would like in a Saturday Night Disco suit!

This year will be better than last, and that's because of friends like you ! Have a great day!

Thanks for the Suggestions
Thank you for suggestions on getting some motivation and energy! Still fighting the cold and fever==fevers make me very sleepy. I got a little portable CD player, hoping the music will help relax, and get energized. Couldn't go to work today, felt sick. I'll try to get a little more rest. The rain is back again, with thunder. Oh, well.

Please give a little something to charity for the tsunami victims. And if it is a monetary hardship, do something nice for someone. Perhaps if we show more kindness to people, well, maybe the Earth can be a better place to live.

I'm continuing to knit--- I am going to post a picture of me with the new long poncho with a buttoned neckline. I designed it and made it. Had to take the neck apart about 3 times !Oh, and I added another Vash sketch with an eggstra strange theme!

And now for something special::

HAPPY
BIRTHADAY
PANDA !
Please visit her site or send her an e card. She's a great friend!

I'll sign off for now, and visit the sites of my wonderful friends, you all have kind hearts!

Housework and bills, !
Well, time to clear up the aftermath of my 5 days off. I should do the right thing, and start doing the bills, housework, but afterall, shouldn't time off be for fun? Decisions, Decisions! I don't know if you all have this problem, but I think of sooo many answers to : How should I spend this time ? the day is over before I do anything. I guess maybe that's because I feel guilty sometimes doing fun things. You know, eat your lima beans before dessert. Study before reading the comics! Someday I'll find that balance.

Does anyone have suggestions to balance just plain fun and getting things done?

well , here's a little quiz I did-- try it out, let me know what you think----

You are a fortune cookie!
You are a fortune cookie!
Take What cookie are you ! today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.

You are a special cookie, with a mission. Although quite tasty, you are wanted for the message you contain inside. You may be on the quiet side, but you are full of wisdom!

Well, the rain has finally stopped! One thing I know I will do is put the weather station up! (monitors outdoor temp and barometer) Maybe I'll get the wind speed and rain gauge for my birthday!

Honk !
Rang in the New Year with a honk of my nose! The perpetual (so it seems) continues to ride! There were some great anime films last night: Patlabor, Vampire Hunter D, and another one that was a pretty good mystery . Interesting to watch a novel turned into anime-- very good quality art!

For those who guessed, the butt was indeed a rhino. I have 2 animal pictures I'd like to share:

I think today I'm just going to go back to bed, make some soup, and watch TV. Everyone, have a good day. For all my friends, may this be the start of the best year you ever had! Cheers ! (holds up tea and crackers)

Love and peace!

This is a bird with a definite "attitude problem" !

Here it Comes
Well, ready or not folks, here it comes. New Years Eve! Big M is off on another project, heading out to the Midwest. So its me and the infamous parrots!

It's raining pretty intensely in So. Cal. Alas, the weather center is in the box still, because there has not been enough break in the rain! Who said in never rains in California!

I imagine folks are getting ready for the New Year---- me, its the all night movie fest and PJ's (yes, a real party animal, LOL) Actually, right now there's a flash flood warning out, so I will stay put for a bit.

Big M and I went to the zoo yesterday. We didn't know that massive construction was going on, so many of my favorite animals were in another location (kangaroos, gorillas--) but we did get to see the chimps. I used my new digital camera. One thing must be understood, I am FAMOUS for butt shots~ I take so long to get ready, by the time I trip the shutter, the critter has turned around, and I have a perfect picture of the butt! Big M has kidded me that I could publish a photo book called--- (The End of Everything or The Animal Butt Atlas) Well, I will post 2 of my End of Everything shots-- see if you can guess the animal. The prize? Pride in your knowledge!

On a more serious note friends, how ever you celebrate tonite, have a designated driver, use a taxi, or just stay put. I want all my friends to be here in 2005 so we all can have fun.

Love and Peace! (biscotti and donuts!)

Ring in the New
It's coming up to that time-- ring in the new, and ring out the old. I have found something new---Red Tea. It's called Honeybush Tea--- sweet, and no acidy taste. Doens't need sugar. Its from African Red Tea company , and I think it will make great iced tea when summer comes (which in So. Cal is faster than we think)

Today is a day off, so some time for movies, and spending time with BigM. Still have the cold, and get easily sleepy. We have been having some big rain so, the weather station is still in the box. I will be visiting sites a little later! I want to post some pictures that BigM took recently while in the midwest---

(all pictures copyright 2004 MJS)

I wish a beautiful evening to my friends here on myO!~

Make Next Year very happy, please have a designated driver, or call a taxi, or stay over, but don't drink and drive! Besides, you can still celebrate with coffee, tea, milk or soda and its just as fun.!

Back in the Saddle Again
Well space buckaroos, its like this-- getting back to work 2 days after Christmas seems a bit strange. I', accustomed to more time, but it did not work that way this year. This morning I awoke to torrential downpours of rain, making getting to work a bit of a challenge! Californians do not "do rain" very well. Heck, theres lots of spin outs on freeways when its dry. With the holiday, luckilly at 6A , few people are on the road!

I still have the cold, so I go to sleep quite early. What is frustrating to me, faling asleep on movies and not seeing the ending. Guess my body needs the sleep.

What are plans for New Years Eve? We are going to stay home, because the roads get so dangerous... A little warning with love, Don't drink and drive---please stay alive!

sometime this week , I'm going to try out the new camera-- doesn't have a name yes. Its digital, but I have more control like an SLR.

Well, back to the ol routine! Love you all!

For some interesting music, check out the Moody Blues/ (oldie but goodie)
