My Best Christmas Present
Big M is home ! He was a bit delayed, but his being back is my Chrostmas present. He came in late last night, so we openned presents this morning. I got a little weather station! It has a little transmitter, so Ican get wind speed, humidity , etc on a monitor inside my house (for outside conditions). Big M loved the camera stuff, and will be taking pictures later this week. He loves film, I will try to scan some pictures on my site, but I don't think it will do full justice.

How did everyone's Christmas go? What was the best part of Christmas for you?

I'll visit sites later.

Love to my friends here! Hello there Ozy J, KitsuneTsuki,Panda, And Caprice, Kamiya sagi, Midnight Rose. And Color Me Evil, I'm going to see if my new weather station also gives the temps in Celsius ! And to Sciros Darkblade, hope you are keeping warm in Canada!

Love and Peace!

Magical Night
Christmas Eve is such a special night. As a kid, I would always try to stay up past midnight, and never quite making it. I remember each year hoping for snow, watching "It's a Wonderful Life" and the 1951 black and white version of "A Chirstmas Carol", and hearing the old tale of how animals could speak at midnight on Christmas Eve. Little did I know I would have a talking pet, my parrots! Tonight they are both excited, as Big M is coming home! I got each a little toy, and it will be fun to be together. My new neighbor Peggy had invited me and Big M to dinner which is very gracious, but a cold will preclude that (sharing is wonderful, as long as it does not include germs!)

I have drawn a crossover anime sketch of Ruroni Kenshin and Vash trying to stay up to midnight on Christmas Eve. Hope you enjoy it.

Merry Christmas to you all, with all the love and peace your heart can hold

Where;s the Chicken Soup ?
Short post today... the cold has become a nuisance. Did not get much done, but we have gotten the garbage disposal fixed. I hope everyone is enjoying preparing for holidays. Tomorrow I'll be wrapping the presents for Big M, and of course more work on the house. (just have to do things slowly today) and go to bed early. I hate when I get a fever, because I get tired.

How many of you got affected by the snows? Big M went to Chicago, and the cold must be mean there! He laughs telling me it is not the Artic, he does not need sled dogs, etc. We'll see.

I drew a picture of Vash as a Mall Rat with rollerblades. He'd be seriously dangerous with them.

Well, I hope you all are having fun and get a smile preparing to celebrate. May your dreams be realized! Love and peace--- guess I should hustle before Vash steals my nice big down pillows!

Kuroneko: MAMMA, look out! The feathers might start flying!

Jet and Vash: Shhhh! Quiet there , cat!

Kuroneko: MAMMA! MAMMA! ::mumble::

thumping echoes through the house-- guess its time everyone had some fun! Pillow fights with these pillows would be awesome!

It's Beginning to Look Up
This week has been in the middle level of Rut and Doldrums. I have felt tired, and back is a problem (the weather changed again) but a little better than before. But still it felt like the Wagon is Draggin' and the blues were moving in. Well, something new has been added. A new neighbor moved in . As I tried to shuffle through my errands, (no way Jose I could run), I decided to stop and get a little fruit basket as a welcome! gift. We did that back East, doesn't seem popular in Cali but I felt it might be nice. My new neighbor is very friendly, and it turns out she works in the same field I do, likes art and computing, and her husband is in the scientific field (sort of like Big M, but different field). It just felt really special to meet a new friend who lives next door. That hasn't happened since I was in high school! I finished and loaded up another Vash picture-- hope you enjoy it.

One of the strange things about being married, and passing the 20;s are the kinds of Christmas gifts one gets or gives. Big M loves photography-- not digital, but film. So I finally got the special effect filter, and some fun film for him to take pictures. Well, while he has been on a long business trip, the garbage disposal broke! Just quit! So when he comes home, he'll have 4 gifts: boxed set of I, Claudius-- star filter--- film-- and a garbage disposal with a big red bow!

The funniest "gift" that Big M got was for an anniversary. It was the first time he had to take a very long business trip . It was more than a month. I came home from Night Patrol and noted the bathroom floor was damp. I cleaned it and wondered why that was. I turned the water valve in the bathroom off. Several hours later, dampness again. It turned out there was a major problem with the toilet! I had to have the plumbers come and replace the toilet,,, and this is quite a big job, including having the bathroom floor torn up! And this happened on our anniversary!
(after he had left for the trip)
When job was completed, I made the biggest bow, put it on top of the toilet tank-- when he came home, he rolled laughing.

Life is full of surprises at Mamma's house!

Well, now to get some cold medicine, ice for my wrist, and heating pad for my back! Now, where did that 4 leaf clover go?

Wishing my friends the special peace and hope that the holidays bring, and a little prayer that all us human critters can get along and stop fighting. The candle's in the window for my wish.

Under Construction
I've tried to change somethings on my site, but my avi changes by itself, some pictures dissapear from posts that have come up prior. Looks like a wobbly chip so something a little today. No rants today, mood is a little better, but not my back, but at least my leg isn't weak today. Not much else new right now.

Again , thank you to friends, your being there is important to me.

Happy holidays to one and all! I'll be around to visit sites a little later... not sure what mood the puter is in. (I hope this is not Chester's evil twin...)

Vash (anxious look on face, looking left and right)--What's going on? The computer starting to be strange... oh NO! (covers head with surgical masks and sprays Lysol everywhere)

Mamma: What are you doing, Vash?

Vash: The 'puter is acting strange--- I'm taking precautions cuz if it has a virus, I dont want to catch it!

See you a little later! And do watch out for beans! LOL

Hmmmph
Back is killing me, and my right leg got a bit weak from sciatica. I wanted to work on my house, but again that is on hold. If I stay around the house, I know I will be unpleasant, so I'll see if I can get out a little. Bad hand and wrist, now leg buckling---- I think even Vash's cheerfulness would dim a bit. Right now, myself, I am angry because it would be a little better had someone done their job!

your scary vash
You are scary vash. Not saying your ugly and
frighten little kids on on the street ,but you
are so damn itense and dangerous it's down
right scary! No one knows what you'll pull
next.
RATE THIS QUIZ

What Kind of Vash are you today? a trigun quiz
brought to you by QuizillaSo, even Vash gets funky! (actually once he gets ticked off, he has a nasty little temper! It just takes a lot) The above is true today--- so this Vash will hide today, hopefully sleep the anger away. Last night the pain and anger were intolerable--making sleep quite difficult.. I did not want to take action, so I took paper and markers and scribbled as hard as I could . That helped, then I tried using MS paint. That helped too. Art really is a good release. Too bad it has done nothing for the pain.

I'm going to call my friend who owns the knitting shop I like== the booklet with the knitted little dolls apparently has a companion volume of knit animals. I would like to look at that.

Any one have suggestions on manga, or current movies in the theatre----

Well, I'm going to heat up some compresses and get some aspirin.

I get a lot of help from my friends. Special thank yous to Panda, KitsuneTsuki, Yami Loni, OzymandiusJones, KamiyaUsagi,Capricce, Yamichan, ColorMe Evil and Midnight Rose for being around when I'm not in the best of moods. Thank you, because your friendship and bright attitudes help. A very ver big thanks to KitsuneTsuki!

   Beans! WARNING ::MAJOR RANT !!
Well, everying is episodically going wrong! I guess that is something I seem to trully share with Vash-- lousy luck! I guess most people know what a "bean counter" is, but if not-- a bean counter is paperwork pusher, who cares more about facts and figures, especially cutting costs to make himeself look terrific to the Big Boss, than human life. One of our "advisors" (program director) fits in this category. I had injured my back at work, and need continuing treatment. I had to have paperwork done by Bean Lady (I call her other names which I will not repeat here). She blew off filling out a one page for me, but did not tell anyone, just plain ignored it! 2 months later when I needed treatment, I could not get it. I should have left work as I was in a great deal of pain, but Mamma does care about her clients and stayed. Stormed down to Give Bean Lady another copy (mind you , she had delayed filling this out for 2 months.) She then said to me "I don't know what to do with this !" Wow, what an Einstein ! I told her it should be completed by end of day, and gave her the names of 2 people who could help her. I dont
know if she completed it, and she is due to go on vacation for a month/ She has been a pain in my side for a long time. Even though it is the weekend , it is hard to put this cake topping item out of my head. I need my friends here. I went to dinner with a friend, and we both could not stop thinking about what she had done to both of us....... That's pretty sad. So my friends, it you are bad, in your next life the Bean Lady will appear! (as the worst nightmare the Universe could hold)

Vash: I know you and I are pacifists, but I'm stumped about what to do

loud noises coming from the closet

Vash: OH, I took the liberty of locking the closet door-- Wolfwood and Jet have called in the cavalry.

Kuroneko__ Oh, brother, Monday might as well be July 4th because I think some fireworks are gonna fly!

Ein: woof!

I've updated my avatar, as Bean Lady makes my hair stand up and salute///// and since I wear my hair in spikes, so should Mamma. Well , enough of stress and destruction of bliss. This is not the season for that. I will go and make some biscotti, and maybe do some knitting. First, I think I will look for new anime or manga. And for the sake of the season, I will try to separate the Bean Lady's actions from her persona-- but sciatica is very painful, and makes it difficult to get about.

Any suggestions for new anime or manga/

ENJOY THE SEASON--- watch Megas XLR tonite,,, its pretty funny. Maybe its time for some good soup, doing anything in the house will have to wait until the sciatica remits a little.

PS The avi wouldn't load, and it wouldn't load in the post either! Vash== where's the X^%& 4 leaf clover !

Steal That Gift
Today was the department Christmas party. Our department is small, so we have the party at work during lunch. Our annual tradition is to buy a small gift, wrap it up, and place it on the table. Before lunch , everyone gets a number. After lunch , we take a present out of the grab bag and unwrap it. If you like what someone else got, you can "steal" the present for yourself, and the person you stole it from picks one from the grab bag. I brought a mechanical parrot that swings around his perch, flaps his wings and sings. But there is a second button where the bird repeats back the previous 30 seconds of sound. People laughed when it sang, but when the person who got it found the second button, most people were in hysterics! I got one for my 2 teammates earlier. I am happy to say the parrot was one of the gifts that got "stolen" (the other 2 were gift certificates for See's Candy and Cold Stone Creamery Ice cream)

A friend of mind makes silver jewerly and I bought 2 ankle bracelets with little temple bells. I love it! I wear 2 ankle bracelets on each leg-- temple bells and hearts on the other side.

Regarding Adult Swim, I guess most folks are not fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force--- I wish they would add another anime too! Cartoon Network is getting some competition! The on demand Anime Network is in several states, and free anime is also offered! Yay-- I saw Chrono Crusade-- quite kawaii, and several episodes of Saiyuki! I bought a portable DVD players for those episodes of night patrol where I am really tired and want my anime! (Mamma is sometimes worse than Vash at foot stomping and whining--- and I hate Night Patrol! Oh, well, there are probably worse things than being on standby-- but not many!)
Vash (popping his head out of bottom filing cabinet draw) Is it safe to come out?

Kuroneko (pops out of second filing draw) No! The night has just begun, and Mamma's been called twice!

Vash: I gotta get to a safe house (takes off running to the gas station because there are a few hours remaining in free donut Monday)

Well, we can all stand proud and tall to be among the ranks of the rabid otaku! My spikes are beginning to droop, and so I am so I will try to lay down a bit. Pray the phone doesn't ring!

we all will meet at the Dreamland Ball, where we can boogie til dawn. Love and peace, beloved friends!

Hidden Otaku
old saying: The thing that I lost and miss the most is my mind! I have just been trudging through the days, not inspired to sketch, or do anything. I am so happy for the creative things people do. Check out greetings by Kitsune Tsuki and Yami Loni, and their art. And stories by OzymandiousJones (wallpapers too). Folks and friends, when creativity takes a nap, what do you do to "jump start" the machine?

Today was a long trip to the dentist-- my dentist is a cool guy, but well, I'm a wimp! He has always done the local anaesthesia well, so I shouldn't be a scairdy cat, but I am. Today was the major appointment to fix the busted tooth-- it was saved, but 3 h worth of work... and after a while, my feets just have to run. Luckilly, I brought a manga with me. The dentist looked and smiled. He states that he liked Mad Magazine, but thoght the manga was cool. Our local pharmacist I discovered was a secret otaku when I had to get antibiotics. Same one of our computer repair folks. It makes me happy to note they are a little older... sometimes I feel like I sneak my manga in to read at lunch.... then again I have always done things a bit footloose, but because I always work hard, I sometimes "get away with that" (like the little toys in the office) Clients say it makes the place a little more homey.... I like working with people, but I despise paperwork, because much of it is redundant! Yuck !

I saw our gas station put up this sign , and imagined Vash staying up late Sunday to be the first through the door on Mondays
Cartoon Networks schedule has changed, and I note there is 1 hr of Aqua Teen Hunger Force... I don't like that... I don't care for the program , and I wonder what you all think!

Glad for DVD! Time to swim among all my pillows. Will be thinking of holidays , and hoping my friends are enjoying the preparations and days leading to the event.

wishing you all the calm peaceful sleep that being snuggled in bed, with soothing warmth around you brngs while the winds blow or rain falls outside, not touching your slumber.

Love and peace!

Songs for the Soul
I read the most moving poem I can reacll here on myOtaku. It's about soldiers at Christmas-- Shinobi-Force1 entitled A Christmas Poem for Our Soldiers It really touched my heart. Please check it out ! It must be so difficult to be away in foreign land and surrounded by uncertainty and danger. I hope all the soldier, marines, sailors, all military folk can come home soon, and I put a candle in the window for all of them. Thank you so much, Shinobi-Force1 !You've created a song for the soul!

I wish for my friends to hear the music of the Celestial Sphere, so they can dance with happiness tonite!
