The New Computer has been Named!

::tosses confetti:: Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions! Selecting through the ideas was a challenge, but here is the announcement: say hello to Herbert T. Brooklyn! He is known as Herbie for short. His distinguishing characteristic has been reliability which is great, but the box is as heavy as part of a black hole. LOL

I found a manga kit from Deleter with the pens, and toning sheets for background. The book has some fun ideas. I was surprised to see how strange combinations of media are used to make pictures like markers, pastels, and spray on glue (from the book How to Draw Manga, Original Colored Drawing).

Well, on the days necessities-- catch the picture on Panda's site-- a Panda with a big birthday cake!! Absolutely adorable!

I'll be visiting a little later. And wish my friends a happy and light spirit, and time to just take a look to find something new, maybe that was just around the corner.

Love and peace !

Ghosties, and Pirates, and Parrots
Halloween is often a hoot with my parrots. The big bird, who is the quiet one, has been the star on Halloween. One year she imitated the moaning heard during the theme song of Mystery on PBS and scared a little one, whose father came back to my house to glomp me. He screamed for me to turn off the spooky tape. I told him I couldn't because the tape was actually my parrot deciding to join in on the fun. This angry fellow then screamed
"Parrot! Who the $%^& has a parrot here in Detroit!" I told him walk around into my backyard and look through the window. The bird looked at him, then let out the worst wail of the night! The man took off running! Life with parrots gets interesting !

Well, added a picture of Lil Vash for Halloween in fan art. I've enjoyed seeing many folks art with some unique styles and beautiful pieces. I hope that everyone can enjoy and have fun today! I'll try and find a special photo for my special friends....Love and Peace!

Don't forget~ Election Day approaches....read your local ballot issues because these touch us all closely!

Come Saturday Morning......
Well, the weekend has arrived, chock full of ARGH cleaning chores. During the week, its impossible to get anything done. Clutter seems to sneak out of closets and other hiding places, and VOILA jump on tables etc. as soon as Saturday arrives. There just never seems to be enough time to just simply do what I want on the spur of the moment. I am getting allergic to the word "Obligation"///// Today all I wanted to do was finish knitting another poncho (blue, and a bit fancier for when i visit my family), but so many silly little things popped up that it wan't til after sundown, I recalled I had not had dinner...

Vash: Where is all the cheese>
Mamma: What?
Vash: There must be a lot of chesse somewhere around here because I'm up to my eyeballs in your whines~ you should have put the sign up!

I guess it proves the saying that life is what really happens, when you're busy making plans. I hope the weekend is a good one for you all. Happy Halloween~
(may none of my friends here get rocks in their treat bag like poor ole Charlie Brown~_ I have added the chibi close up of myself and my buds to fan art..

Button Up Your Overcoat...

Well, the flu season is approaching, and after a heavy rain like we had, lots of folks are coming down with colds and such. I went to the store to stock the cupboard with my favorite comfort soup, Chickarina (the Italian chicken soup with meatballs). One of my co-workers had thought I made that up. No, sir! I'm posting a scan of the label..it's the real deal!

Last night was great fun== we had tortilla soup, enchiladas, and relaxed after a real long day---I'm doing a revision of Mamma Vash bringing soup to the world to make tee shirts for my group. When I showed them the half finished sketch, they howled. Should be fun.

Today will be a brief post-- got home late, horrible traffic snarls, had to sit it out at the mall for a while, because I get antsy after sitting on the highway for half an hour, going no whete. Very tired, long day, lots of papers flying everywhere. I have added another Lil Vash picture to fan art, hope you get a smile. Well, going to start upstairs, grab my plushie, and head for dreamland. Catch you all tomorrow. Just 1 day until Halloween! Love, peace and biscotti to my wonderful friends== Ein and I will say goodnight!

dayTRiPping or TGI GNO
Jumping bureaucrats! This subject looks like it should be alphabet soup.! At work, they organize groups of people into teams: Team Tiger, and Team TRiP are 2. My buds and I are Team TRiP--- it's a name we can twist abound and have fun with when we are a bit tired, but the name came to us, we did not make it up! Anyway, it is continuing to snow paper here, so I'm adding a picture of Team TRip in my post as "the Bernadelli girls"/ This is our monthly dinner out-- we send a cryptic e-mail "TGI GNO" (Thank God Its Girls' Night Out). Whoever's birthday it is, we take them to dinner, and try to do something special. When it was my birthday, the waiters tired balloons in my hair! We all had a good laugh, and it has helped good friendships grow! During the Presidential debates, we had a little party, I told them I would bring something appropriate, so I brought a can of Poppycock!

Looks like many friends are having some creative streaks! The art , poems, stories--- without something beautiful, a day can turn to a drudge! At dinner, with Team TRip-- I'll raise a glass for you all here! (the selection.. Root Beer!)

What Season is it Now ?

There seem to be only 2 seasons in So. Cal-- brown and wet. This year we're having about a week of what I remembered as autumn weather== needing to wear a sweater, and cooler nights where it was nice to snuggle under a comforter. With the windows open just a crack, I smell the night air, with faint odors of fireplaces in use, and the distant moan of a train whistle, complaining about trudging into the night. Nights are often times I get my second wind, its quiet, and I have time to sort through all of the days random thuoghts, and observe the world . That's when hopefully some creative juices can flow!

It's raining now, gently, and the soft tapping is helping me untwist my muscles after a very long day// finished the paper work at 7:30 pm (and started at 7:00 am today) But it is DONE! Eventhough it is Night Patrol again, I had to stop and get myself a reward. I got Big O on DVD. I had to hold back because I also found R/O/D the TV! The art in ROD is detailed, and stylish! Check it out..Tech TV channel and Cartoon Network.

With the mix of warm weather , and rains, we have been having fog in the morning, and it is so dark when I have to take off for work. That's why the picture of the palms in the fog!

Thankies so much for all the suggestions for names for the computer! Terrific ideas! The new one so far is doing what it should, not demonstrating any particular characteristic. I've written down the suggestions, and will mull this over.

I feel pretty lucky, I've met some terrific people here, a very talented bunch too. I enjoy reading your posts, and having the opportunity to share thoughts, jokes, sketches. Now, at least travelling through cyperspace will be a lot more efficient, and easier. I hope I can be as good a friend as you have been to me. Huggles !

Love and peace....

Vash: And don't forget the donuts!

New Day Dawning
Here I come, not quite sure of how the day will go. Ice is needed for sure, because today I feel stiff. No damage, just a bit sore from Chester's last bite. There have been some great suggestions for the Masked Machine's name-- will keep mulling them over and take more suggestions.

OMG! The home office does look quite the disaster!

There are these incredible trees that grow in front of where I work, and in the canyon, some folks have planted them as decoration. A must have for any lover of plushies-- the kapok tree! No kidding, they have huge flowers that are so heavy , when they fall from the tree, you can hear them go "plop" when they hit the ground. Then a large green pod develops that eventually bursts open , revealing a huge wad of white fluffy kapok stuffing! Now all I need is a tree that grows the plush fur, and I'm in business. Enjoy the photo!

   Chester's Revenge
It has been quite a story, Chester and me. It started as a hum drum affair, then began to get quite strange. After I loaded the Wolfwood pic on fan art, there was terrible and strange loud noises coming from Chester, as if it really was about to bite. There's still data on the hard drive-- a crash now and POOF. I told myself I was going to look at a new machine, and get ideas. The loud sounds made my spikes pop out at crazy angles--- next thing I knew, this large and incredibly heavy box was in the car.

But Chester did not give up without a fight. The Nameless Machine was much heavier than I thought, when I got it out of the box, into the office, several boxes of Zip drives for Chester slid off the desk, and on my bare toes! Hooked up the new machine and POP the monitor died (Ok, now you know-- Mamma is cheap!) Back to the electronics shop, home with a new monitor. Removing the old one from the hutch, the cord caught the shelf, which flew out and hit Mamma in the shin. With a yowl, I was knocked off my feet and fell down luckilly in a chair. The shelf started a chain reaction so the office looks like the ending of "an incident" involving Vash --- or as Merryl would say, an adventure in risk management gone bad. The office has always been cluttered, now it's a disaster! Medic-- Mamma needs ice, and lots of it.

However, when all is said and done, I can actually type a post in under an Hour! (THATS WHAT LIFE WITH CHESTER WAS LIKE!). Actually I felt very bad in retiring the maching. I will keep it, and hope to learn a lot more about hardware with it, after the data is downloaded. Well, how about a hand for a machine that has inspired some good jokes, and a little art?

The big dilemma is: What do I call the new computer, which sits quietly and does its job? HELP!!! Please leave suggestions for me --Kamiya Usagi had provided Chester's name. Should that name be used? I appreciate any advice.

Well, as I limp off to bed, I wish to send warm thoughts and gratitude to all my friends. The world is a rough place, no doubt , but friends are a warm and snug harbor from the storms.

Chester's Day of Reckoning is Coming!

Chester the computer has been more and more erratic--- slowing down, making grinding noises--sounding as if there were a factory inside. There speeding along as if nothing were a foot. I have added Wolfwood to my fan art and 2 solutions to the dilemna of dealing with Chester.

We have had a couple of days of rain and cooler weather, so I am trying to finish a multicolour poncho I started earlier. It's a fancier wool for Thanksgiving when my whole famiiy will be getting together. We will be travelling to New Orleans for Turkey day. WOOT! I have never been there, and I love jazz-- hoping I get to go to a jazz club-- my sister and I both like music lots!
Check out some of the great poetry that people are writing here. There's so much talent, it is inspiring.

Vash: "Time to get the donuts--- and go to get my boot fixed! (Chester took a bite out of it!)

Have some chores to do, so will have to say toodles! Love, peace, hope for my wonderful friends here at myO!
