The Peppercorns are Finally Here!

The peppercorns are here!
The peppercorns are here!!

Peppercorn trees grown here in So Cali-- usually planted as decorations , they can grow to well over 80 feet, like skyscrapers. A sure sign of fall is the brilliant yellow little flowers, that become these pink pods. If you open them, you can see the peppercorn forming inside. I've been watching the cycle of these trees for 13 years, and I never tire of their beauty. Take a minute to enjoy---

Looks like Mamma needs another box of round tuits! After I posted, we had a paperwork snowstorm, so another hiatus. I have returned. I want to thank anyone who visited. I really appreciated the comments and good thoughts after the whirlwind! I began to dream about paperwork in my sleep! GYAK!

Well, my co-workers and I did something different-- we have been snowed under SO bad with paperwork, that every spare moment the DO NOT INTERRUPT-- MEETING IN PROCESS signs when on the doors, and the rattling of keyboards was deafening as we tried to finish off the piles before the weekend. We did it! With sheepish smiles, we slunked out of the building. These are my two buds, Angie and Espie-- they are wonderful-- if it weren't for them, I'd be bald from pulling my hair out. We go out to dinner once a month, and that group has doubled. I made a sketch of us as the "Bernadelli Insurance Society girls"-- they jus cracked up and said they were beginning to feel that way-- the paperwork is supposed to be only a fraction of the job, but hey-- doesn't paperwork feed on itself!

I have made a greeting card with Vash recommending you all take 2 donuts and call back in the morning! I will be putting a larger version of it in fan art a little later (must go to Kinko's as Chester ate the scanner program!)

Pay Day!! Time to start looking for a new computer--- Chester, fear Mamma, and tremble-- she now has the down payment on a NEW comp MWAHAHA!

Vash (lip trembling)"Whaaa waa are you going to do to Chester, I mean was he that bad? He should be allowed to make a mistake...
Mamma: "like taking a bite out of your boots?"
Vash(steaming mad):"Chester would not have done that if you didn't glomp him with them!"(wiggles toe out of boot hole)
Wolfwood (cackling)"Shoulda done what I did-- hide your boots!"

I will be keeping Chester to learn how to do some basic hardware work, and practice really basic stuff that I probably never mastered. One day, I hope to actually be somewhat computer literate!

My friends here at MyO are really wonderful-- check out some great poetry, stories and art. I love you folks, and want to send you a big hug, and something special, because you have all taken time to share something of yourself with me:

   Anime----Take Me Away!
The birds and I are nice and dry. The rains have flooded So Cal, and we needed it. I had resigned myself to re-define the color of grass to brown--it has sprouted up and some of the seed I planted took. Oh, Grasshopper, too much joy! When the sun came out at work, the view from the 4th floor was breathtaking - palm trees and the duck pond, and yes the ducks have come out of hiding!
I had written down several ideas from a brief creative spell-- now is time for action. I drew my 2 co-workers and I as chibi-- think I'll dress them up as Bernadelli Insurance girls, cuz the paperwork (supposedly only a fraction of our jobs) makes it seem that must be our real employed. Also have a Wolfwood in process. the phone today is wringing off the hook, so I will have to pause and return later, especially to visit sites.
TO BE CONTINUED--

Puddle Ducks
Still raining, and the rain is pretty cold this morning. Did you ever fall asleep, kick off your covers, then wake up with stiff muscles? Sometimes, I do stuff like that, of course on the weeks busiest days! When I got to work, I felt like falling down laughing! There were all the ducks, sitting on the grass, out of the pond, under a tree! Either the lifeguard duck blew his whistle ("Quack, everybody outta the pond"), or being rugged Southern Cal ducks, they were busy hiding from the rain.
It's been one of those days where so many ideas swirled around, I just about felt dizzy---about new art, how to tame Chester a little, and other stuff-- faster and faster until POOF--all gone, and I was tired. I have a bunch of notes on all these projects, but it was real hard to turn off my thoughts. A creative flood happens every other blue moon! What's an earth mother to do!

Though we still have sprinkles, it brings back memories of being a kid, and on a rainy day a special treat was grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, and chicken soup. After that would be watching movies with my mother, or helping Dad in the workshop, painting a shuttle, or some little project. Feels nice to remember things like that.

Still knitting---blankey #3 done!

Well, Chester corrupted the scanner program, but either I will patch it, or Chester's replacement comes sooner than I anticipated!

Happy Puddle Duck day to all!

   Rainy Day
Today was a little different-- cloudy and rainy in Southern Cal-- the rain came down in buckets all night. Somehow the tapping helps me to sleep at night, but keeps me tired during the day. My brain is so foggy tonight , I will just keep this brief.

Love and Peace to my friends here! Catch you all on the other side of starshine...

   Beware of the Samurai Parrot
Our little conure, the intrepid little fellow who nested in my knitting (cashmere, luckilly only a swatch!) must either be a samurai, or demon! He is feisty-- 3 colours of green with a red splotch around his neck. He is called a cut-throat conure-- he is either charming, talks (when he wants) or makes loud kissing noises (such as if he sees a man and woman are close together , or letting me know he likes something (like a toy or food-- he kisses those items) He has openned his cage door, and when he gets out is either very stealthy, or flies smack into a window. His beak is incredibly sharp, and I have the scars to prove it! He is clever, and this seems to come out when I least expect it.. I have been working on a sketch of a samurai parrot, using him as my model. After about 2 mos , I finished the piece. He watches me sketching and when I finished last night, he looked at the picture, and made loud kisses. I guess he just wanted to let me know, he wants to be an anime star! I will try to get a photo of him up and the sketch is in my fan art. He also has a devilish little laugh---heh heh heh... so just wanted to share him with my friends. When my husband is on business trips, the 2 parrots are my companions.

Last night as I drove home from an exhausting work day, the sunset was so brilliant with turqoise, brilliant orange , neon pinks and purples tinting the palm trees and canyon ledges, it brought tears of joy to my eyes. That a tiring , difficult day could be wrapped up by Nature with such a spectacular show for no special reason, other than "just because ".

Sending my friends here canyon sunsets (and parrots) just because you are special ! Love and Peace!
This is a photo of my parrot, and yes, he's eating a bit of pizza here!

Hiccup !
Vash: Maaaammaaaa, Chester bit me!

Mamma:You know it can be a nasty machine! Here, a donut will take care of that bite.

Vash: Hmmm... Do you know something about where my boots have gone?

::walking with loud steps into Chester the Computer's room::
Mamma (singing): Strike any key when ready, huh Chester? ::swinging Vash's boots overhead::

WARNING!

Chester hiccuped, so couldn't get the peppercorns up! Then I hopped in Tomato, after listening to the commuter news, and avoiding 1 backup by choosing my alternate route.... it took 2 1/2 h to get to work! ::whine::....

Chester: Oh, no! People, you all better run, because it looks like Mamma and Vash are going to have a Whine Off! And folks, these guys are no amateurs! ::Peanut Gallery quicks sprints away with box of Krispy Kremes::

Vash (running after the Peanut Gallery at highest speed)-- Can't stay now, this is a real emergency! Why does everybody pick on me?

Well, being a little silly today because its Friday! I decided it was time to get a little treat for being good, and throwing grass seed at the lawn, doing half of the home office filing, cleaning the hallway, and finishing all the work paperwork after the 2 1/2h traffic jam (couldn't call it jelly, because nothing rolled!) I got another plushie---I love my Ein, and I found Shippo! It is so cute and pretty big. Could not decide between Shippo or Inuyasha. No Wolfwoods or Vashes to be seen , and even Kuroneko was sold out at Anime Club that week! But Shippo was just too adorable!

I hope that everyone has a great weekend-- the candle is in the window to send out Love and Peace, with warm feelings for my friends.

I'll get to visiting a little later this afternoon.

Everyday Anime
3 day weekends just go too fast! Especially when you work at breakneck speed to get ready, and then all the house chores to do. Well, I'm getting through some chores. Threw seed at my backyard which looks like dirt for grass after someone else raked the dirt (my back limits some things) A lot of time getting Chester operational --- I still need a newer and faster computer-- it would be nice to telecommute because long evening hours are not fun!.

Sometimes , in a traffic jam, to pass some time, I think what if anime characters had to contend with everday things--- like traffic jams, paying bills, etc. Sort of like, how would Inuyasha react if pulled over on the freeway for speeding? It sometimes can give me a smirk, because California traffic jams are infamous. Several years ago a friend, when stuck, just took of his shirt, climbed to the car roof, and had a sun bath , while people inside the car were nashing their teeth. (they were actually broken down on the road)-- I think that is the essence of calm!

I did get the peppercorn pod pictures, and will put them up tomorrow.

Love and Peace to my wonderful friends. Please stop by Panda's site and say hello.! A lot of posts show folks are getting colds and feeling crummy with change of seasons. Please do take care, drink fluids, have fruit and chicken soup does help. (my husband found an article about that in one of his scientific journals.)

To help with the virus season:

What's an Earthmother To Do ?
Vash: Mamma, time to get up---bills to pay, leaves to rake, house to clean, and pictures to take. Hey, I don't like the look in your eye--Later (runs out)

Yes, Mamma is ugly in the morning-- it's soooo hard to get up---sometimes its hard to get out of the house! But I am glad I have today off to get some housework done. Spent most of the weekend working on Chester! I have a new backgound, and submitted it as fanart (however, there it came out small as colour seems to do for me). If anyone submits colour art, any suggestions for a larger image?

Today I will get out of the house for the pepper tree pictures. And then some parsely for soup---one of my co-workers wasn't feeling good recently. So chicken soup , or Manicotti!

Wishes and warm fuzzies for Panda, long distance rainbows to Milkycat, a hello and hug to Ozy J and "the Jones clan-- Silver Falcon and Thrush", warm and dry weather for Yami Loni, Good fortune in moving to Cutetanuki, and love and peace to all my friends, you are all often in my thoughts.

Persimmons and Pepper Trees

It's often hard to know what season it is in southern California--I know we have come to fall when I see the persimmon tree-- the fruits are bright orange when ripe, and sweet as corn syrup! They look like little pumpkins hanging in a tree. Pepper trees get pink pods that will be peppercorns.

I have often referred to placing a candle (electric) in the window, to send love, concern, warmth to friends and relatives. I have a thought that the small light can carry a spirit to somehow convey those feelings. I have drawn that spirit and posted it in my fan art/ just wanted to share that.

Today was a little cooler, and I just kicked back, and knitted a bit. I still have to use the splint/brace on my left hand (yep, I'm a southpaw! Now semi-ambidextrous). I am being sent to see a hand surgeon which is scary. I do not want any surgery, but I have been told that a more thorough assessment can be done. It's a little upsetting-- about as much fun as Chester the Computer in a foul mood! (I am beginning to think it waits for the worst time to act up-- ) I love Kitsune Tsuke's thoughts of hypnotizing Chester--- Maybe if I poked this turtle of a machine..... Oh, well-- right now funds push me to a table of manuals to see what I can do to keep it running XD.

Well, I think some anime and popcorn (and an Italian soda) sounds good about now. Catch you all on the other side of starshine.!

Love and Peace to all!

Down for the Count
Another brief post-- both Chester and Mamma have been "off the network" for a few days. Chester is just continually slowing down despite virus checks, defragging disks. I have been having some back trouble (sciatic pain-) so actions were limited. Back at work today. Hope to get around to sites a little later. Thanks for your kind patience.
