Peaceful Moments
I was trying to think what made some moments so peaceful and enjoyable, and others so stressful (ohoh, the Peanut Gallery ran out of the room-- fearing lecture time ) No, not a lecture but simply a discovery-- expectations and those dangerous words:if only. Has anyone ever found the best movies they ever saw were the ones they knew little about and didn't have any expectations for? (sort of -- I'll see this movie, it will kill 2 hrs, but no other expectations). That's when I saw Star Wars, and Indiana Jones and was stunned. (because my expectations were low). Many times I find myself saying the weekend would be great IF ONLY I did not have to clean the house, ,do the bills, etc. Well, I think a little light bulb struggled to flicker on--- the obligations will never go away.... but everyone has them, the Universe does not single me out. There are unscheduled moments. Maybe drive a different route home. Stop and have a different flavor of soda when traffic is bad, and call friends to just say HI. If all I get is a brief moment, enjoy it for what it is.
I called a close friend who moved far away last night. It was like she never left. We could only talk 15 min, but it felt good to hear her voice because it was a really busy day. And I was dwelling how my weekends get "ruined" by obligations==IF ONLY they were all free time. Sorry to sound like a teacher, but I realized the brief, spur of the moment things are the special things I remember for a long time, and the long hours of routine get forgotten. (like 8 h of paperwork are forgotten after I find a new duck in the pond!) Just wanted to share with my friends here. You have been very cool, and special. Just want to share that too-- the comments, your art, and realizing you are here.
Panda, I wish warm springs for healing, Milkycat I wish infinite colours and bandwidth for your art, Yami Loni I wish good times with your special one and hope school is great, OzyJ I wish you a world of great music, Thrush I wish you many great bishies, Silver Falcon I wish you your own private race track and formula one car, Cutetanuki I wish you many new friends after your move.

I am glad for the friends I have met here. I'll be visitng sites a little later and putting finishing touches on th e"signs"-- coloring the warning signs. Have to go fix the garage door!
