The Big Spring Clean
Well, this is the annual attempt at the big spring cleanup. I guess each year the house gets a little closer to organized. I have been doing little bits here and there, but with a glimmer of sunshine, it seemed time for a major change is here. Several trips to Goodwill helped me to get to the floor of the home office-- so much stuff in such a small room. I still use milk crates for bookshelves there , but they are bowed with age. But each year the clutter has always won in the home office. So far, I have busted the shredder twice clearing things out from an old business I had previously to try and make up for part time hours, and the Goodwill man knows my car from a distance. Tomato is always "stuffed"/ when Panda and John came to AX 2004, they rode in Tomato a short distance, but were bopped by skeins of yarn, and Panda laughed as I cleared out enough yarn to make a blanket, along with books, new pots, and the oddest things one could imagine. I guess if I were trapped in a blizzard, I would at least be quite warm with all the yarn ! I would like to have some things moved around to set up a better place for the computer, and real wooden shelves for the things I need (like art materials and manga!) This year Mamma is gonna beat the clutter back, even if I have to do it with my long aged spaghetti spoon! We have been really lucky, no leaks, no mudslides (though the muddy backyard sucked the shoes off my feet). So looks like many weekends will be spoken for--- if anyone were to bet who would win, Mamma or the office clutter, I think I'd bet on the clutter! Right now I guess I am too tempted to go out and take pictures. The wildflowers in the desert will bloom a month early, and will be a virtual riot of colour!

The ducks at work are always a riot...I took this picture to remember to take a deep breathe and pace myself with a big task:

Many hugs to good friends-- enjoy the weekend, and hope that the weather is treating you kindly.
