A Summer Cold is a Different Kind of Animal
Yup, it used to be the ad for Contac-- but colds in the summer are a bother. Just icky enough so if the weather gives me a break, don't really feel like going outside. But I try to go out , even if briefly. There is something about looking for wildflowers, and birds and critters that brings a pause to all the noise and bother of everyday life.

Yesterday, grumbling with my cold, I dragged myself out to do brief errands. I was flustered, wishing the errands would do themselves, just felt so washed out. Then I saw a big red tailed hawk! It just glided around on a current, not moving a bit, but sailing and circling on thermals! We used to have lots of red tailed until the West Nile Virus killed a lot a year ago. But now they are returning! I wished I had the camera at that moment!

We used to have a goshawk that used to land on my balcony.. the bird seemed fascinated to see my television through the window. Funny to think of a hawk watching Trigun and Bebop with me ! Haven't seen the goshawk, but I hope he shows up again this fall.

Well, right now the only bird I am seeking is a chicken.. for soup that is! Have a great day, good friends! Watch out for bugs!

And silly jokes...like the old:
"when is a door not a door?
When its ajar! (who uses that phrase: "ajar" ? Not too common.)

Love and Peace, biscotti and donuts!

If you look closely, there's a little butterfly on the flower.
