Murphy Lives!
I doon't know if anyone is familiar with Murphy's Law--"If anything can go wrong , it will do so , at the most inopportune moment, and in the worst possible direction"... and then there is the famous addition " and Murphy was an optimist !" I will post the picture of the coat tomorrow-- yes it was finished on time. But the temperature dropped real low in Chicago-- it was -11F when I landed there -- and then there was the wind. My glasses literally frosted over and froze! It was very difficult to go anywhere for most of the weekend. It was even cold in the apartment I stayed in as the winds made the walls cold, and the heat just couldn't seem to keep up. But , even spending time indoors, and going for drives in the country was good. I got to take some pictures. At a small lake, the severe low temperature literally froze the water out of the air, so there was a beautiful fog-- I took the picture but have not down loaded it yet. The planes were delayed (even coming into LA)--one the way back I was kicked and bumped by a child next to me (having nightmares I think)... the shuttle from the airport got lost! It's pretty bad that you have to give the driver directions at Midnight---

And the last huzzah was when I tried to leave for work this AM-- the garage door got stuck. We have an openner, which no longer seems to function correctly, and I think the track where the door fits got bent. It took me 15 minutes to try to pull the door down because it stuck so bad. But for all the silly things that went wrong, I still enjoyed myself. Saw some beautiful sights, and faced the challenge of photography in extreme temperatures. I used to live in Michigan, and remember when we had to tape the film cartridges under our arms so they wouldn't get brittle and shatter!

So how the did President's Weekend go? Did you all have it off? I hope the weekend went really good for you all-- you are special friends.

Love and peace! (and toffee biscotti)
