So many wise and kind firends, Thank you!
Well, I have taken some time to think, and I can talk about this now. Big M was transferred to Chicago area a little bit ago. He continues to frequently fly for business. There had been no opennings for my job. Then 2 positions openned--and this created such awful mixed feelings. I love California, but I'm part time , and boss issues. I felt pressure to re-locate, and didn't like that either. Had a long talk with Big M that made me feel very free in the choices to make. I feel now that this is a decision I am completely free to make... so I will wait to see what is offered, and take it from there. The pressure is gone, and now real possibilities for change have openned (rather than hoping boss will make changes) but I can take or leave it of my own thoughts. That puts me in charge, which I never saw-- So now, I feel like conflicting chains have broken. And all of you have really helped me with very insightful comments. I think letting things sit for a bit, and thinking about what everyone has said has allowed me to take another viewpoint on this. One thing I am very glad of is the Net, it allows me to still have contact with my friends wherever I go -- all I need is a computer (

Yensid A major point! Do I feel it was thrust on me, or do I have a choice? I think that helped me a lot to re-thunk the situation! And you are very good at helping people out!

Milkycat It's always good to hear from you! I am going to try getting back to DA a little more.... I had too many fog banks in my head to do much of anything.
