Got Da Duty!
A beautiful fall weekend, air is cool, and there are actually a few leaves turning color. It's a holiday weekend too! Should be out with the camera--- but as a friend says: "Got Da Duty"-- work the weekend. Sometimes I get lucky, but this time, looks like I'll be working all 3 days. Worked all day today, and already got calls to go in tomorrow. I so do not like to work holidays or weekends-- 12 days in a row, and I am tired. Yesterday I was doing the routine errands (chanting-- "No phone calls, no phone calls") and the last was to get gas. After I pumped the gas, the drivers side door would not open. Oh no! I climbed through the passengers side-- a real challenge since the seat is full of everything I need to bring to the second office! I had to take the car to the dealer-- the lock froze up-- it was lucky for me that they could fix it. GAAAAH! Cars drive me crazy!

I appreciate everyone's thoughts on vinyl records and stereos-- sometimes thing change so rapidly, we can easily forget just what life was like before new technology. Do you remember going to record stores to buy tapes/records/CDs? I do-- there was a huge store (and it was also a big chain) called Tower Records. They had a huge store on Sunset Blvd-- it had a brilliant huge sign that shown brightly, like a beacon. Well, it is going out of business. How about remembering where you used to hang out before Starbucks? Funny, coffeehouses were the place where the beatniks used to go. OK-- I do not remember the beatniks clearly. My mother used to think of them as the Wild People, yet that was a costume we would wear for Halloween-- tigh black pants, long colorful tunic, and a beret... talk about time coming round in circles!

But one thing that I am glad to experience is anime! The more I look at the art, the more I think that the simplicity of the style makes it quite beautiful.... and the stories can be so intricate ! I am watching Full Metal Alchemist episodes I missed first time around, and I am really loving this wonderful story! Do you watch your favorite anime over again. I still love listening to the music of Bebop, and yes I still get a laugh of the first disc of Trigun.

Well, the phone is ringing-- what will it be -- Telemarketer, or more work (please be a telemarketer!) An early fall picture for wonderful friends:

May the weekend be as crisp and sweet as an apple, just picked from the tree!
