Pet Peeve
I hate people who try to hard so much. It’s like, what the fuck? Are you trying to impress someone? When you pretend or act like something, or someone, then you smack of being false. People who call themselves gothic, punk, preppy just all smack of trying to be in that group so hard. It’s like, when did people just stop acting like themselves to please other people.
I’d rather get weird looks while singing spice girls at a bus stop with my friends, talk about whips and chains, listen to every type of music out there and wear what I think is cool, then ever try to be someone or something I’m not. I’d never be happy and people have to learn that, learning to fit in, even if it’s by trying to “stand out” as something you tend to blend in. Being gothic doesn’t bring you looks because you look scary or depressed, it brings you looks because you are trying so hard to wear the uniform of being something, black hair, make up, tee-shirts of bands you have never even seen in concert * another pet peeve* and spike bracelets is not standing out because thousands of other teens think that that fashion is the “it” thing to do and now, millions of you are walking around like clones, wearing the same clothes, talking the same, listening to all the same music, shunning people for being different when you claim that’s why being gothic is so cool in the first place. It’s a bunch of garbage to me. Stand out, enjoy being you and don’t say gothic is you because it’s not. It’s cool to like black, rock out to Manson and even concert tee-shirts ( if you’ve gone to the concert!!) but it’s the trying, don’t try to be something you’re not. Just a little advice for all you younglings out there, take care of yourself.
