I'm home!
Mom's listening to Mongolian overtone singers.
Tour log and photos!
Guten morgen! I’m on a plane to Frankfurt Germany. From there we go to Paris, so bonjour as well!
We had a bit of stupidity in the Detroit airport. Anita was ridiculously late. It turned out her mom who had avoiding traffic advice got stuck in traffic. Chicago style pizza from the airport is magically delicious
We got off the plane and I absolutely hated myself for wearing long pants. OMG BLASMPHEMY it was hot! We flew to Paris and met Orane, our most awesome tour guide, as well as the Headlys and the group of German students from Virginia and went to ze hotel. Thank goodness I was able to change into one of my skirts.
We met in the lobby and got metro tickets to go to Pere Lachaise. That turned out...interesting, to say the least. Mom and I got lost on the metro. Mrs. Blaz thought we were going the wrong way, and had us get off, then realized we were going the right way, got on, and accidentally left us. We got on the next one, and met Orane, who gave us directions. Mom nearly flipped out, but we got to Pere Lachaise in the end. That cemetery is gorgeous. Once we found everyone else, we went to the St. Michele fountain for our meeting place. We walked to Notre Dame, which was amazing and gorgeous. There was a Joan of Arc statue that amazed me. I then bought French manga at a bookstore. Now I’m eating dinner.
Mom and I had to skip seeing the Sacre Coeur to go to sleep. The next day a tour bus took us around Paris. Then we had free time while a bunch of other people went to Versailles. During free time we followed Mr. and Mrs. Blaz to go eat crepes. There were a ton of street performers, all of which were really good. My favorites were the people singing 80’s music, including Under the Bridge by the RHCP, and the Mongolian overtone singers. We bought the Mongolians’ CD as well. We then went to a mall because Mrs. Blaz wanted to look for baby clothes, and I found a really cute shirt.
Once free time was over, we went into the Louvre. They had ancient Egyptian stuff, which was way cooler than the Mona Lisa, even though the Mona Lisa was amazing. The Winged Nike was my favorite statue, and I fell in love with the painting of The Young Martyr. The stuff I’d never heard of was gorgeous too. Louvre=amazing.
After the Louvre, we had a craptacular cruise down the Seine. It was crappy because I couldn’t understand a word of what was happening, and I had a shitty seat, so I couldn’t’ take pictures. The people on the sides weren’t even taking pictures. It was so gay. Once we got off the bitch, we went up the Eiffel Tower. As in, all the way up. It was gorgeous up there. It was like the view on the Sears Tower, only in France. Unfortunately, we were horribly late in getting down to the rest of the group. I did get a good sparkly Eiffel Tower picture though <3. We are currently on a train to Strasbourg.
Here I am dying in a hot restaurant. We are in Strasbourg now. The cathedral here is beautiful. We took a walking tour, which was awesome. “What the hell is this barbecue with marshmallows? What the hell is this SOCCER?!” Pate de fruits and sorbet are yummy. We bought a Swiss army knife for dad, and postcards. Oh, and this restaurant sucks.
Today we went to Colmar and the Maginot Line. Colmar had an anime store called the Baka Neko. I got gashapon from a machine outside of it while passing, and went back later. Colmar was beautiful. We saw a house that had details painted on. I bought blood orange Orangina at the Monoprix, which is like a French K-mart. The Maginot Line was boring, and the ride there was Hell due to the heat.
Back in Strasbourg, we ate at the same restaurant, which was actually good and not death. We walked along the river, and saw baby swans. So cute! Mystery meat is funny.
We are in Heidelberg! the town is beautiful, and I adore the castle. I went to a medicine museum and bought a dragon, as well as cough drops for daddy. My dragon is named Fausty. I like sauer kraut. I got gifts for people, and tomorrow is Rothenberg!
Rothenberg was awesome. We walked inside the city walls. I bought a short sword that I love to death. I also got other things like Hans the bear. We went to a torture museum, and a church with a drop of Jesus's blood. That night I had a beer and watched football with the actual foot!
Today is my birthday. I’m on the plane home. An amazing choir sang to me, and the flight attendants gave me gifts and cake. Luff!
