A Let Down
"- I like iTunes 7." --Adam

That there is what Adam says about iTunes 7. I got it hoping it would give me some of the cooler firmware upgrades for my iPod, like the Search ability available on the 5.2G iPod Video and 2G Nanos. But it didn't. It gave me the Gapless playback and the nifty block in the middle of the screen if scrolling quickly to find something. Those I wanted as well, but the lack of the search feature is a let down on iPod and iTunes.

Anothe letdown with iTunes 7 is that the "CoverFlow" display mode DOESN'T WORK! It shows me an error saying that iTunes can't access my album art, even after I downloaded it through iTunes itself. It should know where it put them! But it says it can't nab them for that nifty mode. MAJOR LET DOWN! That was the whole reason I clicked the "Yes" button on the upgrade query window that appeared today when I started iTunes. I wanted that mode. It was so awesome looking. I'm thinking about trying to send some sort of feedback or support ticket or something to Apple, since it seems there is no support on their site for it thus far.

Well, other than burn an hour watching a previously webcasted Apple Product Introduction with Steve Jobs, update the software on my PC and my iPod, and post this, I haven't done much. But I'm tired. I'm not supposed to be tired at 1:35 AM! That's not normal for me on a weekend/day off.

As you've probably guessed, I have Friday off. Friday is the Homecoming game and dance at my school, but I'm not going to either. Last year just ruined any thoughts of going this year. That and who would I go with? I don't have a girlfriend, and, frankly, don't desire to have another one for a while. And I'm not about to just go alone. What's more, I have no dressy clothes to wear besides what I wear to church on the rare occasion we actually go.

Meh. I'm tired. I'll probably tinker a bit with PHP or just HTML or something, then go to bed, so...

EDIT: I found out why the CoverFlow thing wasn't working based on my own conclusions. Normally, iTunes 6 used Hardware Graphics Acceleration (HGA) to display the album art for the Get Info window. We use PSP9 frequently, and it locks up if the HGA is on at all. It was turned off! iTunes likes to eat at your VPU, so keep the HGA on if you're using CoverFlow in iTunes 7!
