I keep being surprised by how many people don't know that using fanart that isn't yours in e-cards or wallpapers is NOT allowed. Adam even posted it on the main page back in April. It says it directly on the submission page for wallpapers.

It's making my job a bit of a pain, especially when so many of the most popular e-cards and wallpapers are breaking the rules.

I've been working on my tablet lately, and it finally clicked. I know how to use it pretty well now. I suddenly realized, "Hey.... this is a lot like oil painting."

And it is, only somehow easier and faster, once you're used to it.

So I worked on this picture last night for a couple of hours, and I'm really liking the way it looks so far. Here's a little preview:



I've still got to finish most of her body, and do some fix up, but I'm really quite pleased with how it's going.

What can I say? Work's been alright. I haven't gotten as many hours as I might like, but that could be because I'm new.

I've been writing a little more lately. Someday they should start a fanfiction section here. That would be pretty interesting. theOtaku would become just this huge conglomerate site of everything anime. It's almost there already, especially with that whole cosplay section now.

Fanfiction might be a little much for them to take on though, what with all the work that goes into making sure the material isn't too adult, or plagiarized, or such. I mean, with a picture you just glance at it, and you can tell, but with stories you have to read, sometimes several chapters worth, to find the offensive material.

But I'd be quite happy to be a moderator if they ever DID start a fanfiction section.

Whee! FInally, a Bleach hub! And I think I can say, I'm at least partially responsible for it, especially because of the way he worded the announcement. I just emailed them a few days ago, saying that I'd really appreciate having a Bleach hub, and I wasn't sure why they didn't have one already, because it was getting to be pretty popular. And then I said I had counted over 35 Bleach wallpapers in the miscellaneous anime section, and that's more than 2/3 of the animes that have hubs have.

Anyways... I just started my new job, waitressing at a sushi restaurant. It's hard work, and since I've been training the past two days, it's been really looooong hours. Thankfully, I don't have double shifts again all week. My legs hurt so bad by the end of the day.

But otherwise, I enjoy the work. I know three people that work there- two from school, and one I've known for FOREVER, (a childhood friend) and everyone else seems pretty nice. I have fun up until an hour or two before closing, by which time I'm really tired and my feet are killing me.

I haven't begun working for tips yet, but I hear you make pretty good money. Which is understandable, because sushi can be pretty expensive.

So I'm busy, and having fun. Sort of. I mean, it is work.

But the point is, I'm not sitting around the house all day all summer, which is good, and I'm not stuck working for my dad again, which is even better.

I feel I must explain something. When looking through my wallpapers/greetings/etc., it's quite obvious which I've made on my laptop, and which I've made on my desktop. On my laptop, for some reason, colors always look differently than they do on every other computer, and so when I post things and look at them later on my desktop, the once subdued colors are garishly bright and often... off.

So if the colors seem a little strange on some of my works, that's why. For instance, my Sesshoumaru/Rin wallpaper looked a nice soft blue on my laptop, and didn't even have a hint of purple in it. Looking at it on here, it's very purple.

This is especially obvious on the things made from manga pictures, because then I choose all the colors.

I get really angry sometimes about the color differences, because sometimes it can really ruin it. Anyways, just felt a need to explain it. And so I apologize for the sometimes hideous color schemes, but I don't always have access to my desktop to check things before I post.
