Megacon
Just got back from Megacon today. It was fun. I went with my three best friends, and we got a hotel and stayed in Orlando all weekend for this. It was three days, friday through sunday, though we spent the majority of the time there on Saturday. When we went Friday, there wasn't much there yet and I was dead tired, having gotten less than two hours of sleep (and that not even consecutive) and having driven all the way to Orlando, (about two and half hours) and having to deal with the stress of driving on the interstate for the first time, so we ended up leaving after only two or three hours. It was also because we had neglected to eat before we got there, and once we did there wasn't anything there but five dollar hot dogs and nine dollar salads, and once we left the parking lot we'd have to pay another five dollars to get back in, so we just gave up and left.

Saturday was much better, and we stayed most of the day. We ended up watching an AMV contest and a cosplay contest. The AMV contest was terribly judged, with far too many Hellsing ones (not any of which were all that good) and really poor choices for the "Best Comedy" (wasn't funny at all) and "Best of Show" (was just plain dumb.)

We didn't sit through all of the cosplay contest, but it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we couldn't get up close enough to get good pictures, which was kind of sad, since they had so many cool costumes.

There were so many cosplayer- my favorite was a Kakashi. He dyed and spiked his hair (instead of a wig) and it looked REALLY good, and when I asked him for a picture, he whipped out that book Kakashi's always reading and posed with it. It was so cute. XD

Two of my friends became obsessed with a Kenshin cosplayer, and so we ended up stalking him all weekend. At first it was just coincindence- we kept seeing him around, but he was always alone and looked sad, and I said he looked like a wanderer, and that somehow became something cute and endearing and we went out of our way to find him.

He had purple contacts and the typical Kenshin clothes on Friday, and then he had his hair down and gold contacts in Saturday, so he became Battousai. We ended up getting several pictures of him... not all taken when he was aware of it >.>

Today my friend finally resolved to talk to him, but he ended up having a friend with him, and he wasn't even dressed up as Kenshin anymore. It was kind of sad. Finally, right before we were leaving, we ended up sitting next to him at an "Iron Cosplay Competition" (as in "Iron Chef"- had ot make a costume in a set amount of time) and as we left, my friend said "Goodbye, very sexy Kenshin," and ran. It was pretty funny.

Other than stalking Kenshin and buying stuff, we didn't really do that much. We didn't cosplay- we just bought those stupid hats (I had a Puchuu from Excel Saga) and wore those around, even though they looked pretty stupid.

But it was fun. The only drawback is now I have two midterm critiques in my art classes, and I'm not really ready for them. Sigh...

Oh, and here's me in that god-awful puchuu hat.
