Optional Characters
As any fan of the Final Fantasy VII series knows, Vincent was one of two optional characters in the original game.
Not too long ago they release Dirge of Cerberus- Final Fantasy VII, set two years after the movie Final Fantasy VII Advent children and three years after the original Final Fantasy VII game. Dirge of Cerberus focuses on Vincent and his mysterious past.
It seems kind of odd that they would make a game for an optional character. So I'm wondering if they'll make a game for Yuffie, the other optional character from the original Final Fantasy VII. Yuffie is my favorite character from Final Fantasy VII and I'd love to see her in her own game.

Dragon Ball Z
i don't know if it's just me, but dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 1 and 2 somewhat suck. especially when compared to dragon ball z budokai 1, 2, and 3. i know they've included quite a number of characters in tenkaichi 2, but something about the gameplay just doesn't seem to good. i've played all five of the games, and at times it feels like i'm just playing the same game over and over again. don't get me wrong, i love the anime series, but it just seems like there's not much originality with the budokai game series.

"hey auntie, it me cye. i have something i need to talk to you about." i said.
"so what's so urgent that you call this late at night?" she replied.
"stranage things are happening in the game 'the world'. the statue that had once stood in the cathedral has returned after a leave of absence." i explained.
i proceded to explain what had happened.
"well, even though it's a new game, bits of the old game were pliced with a new game." she said
"so it wasn't made totally from scratch?" i asked. "what does it have to do with what happened anyways?"
"well, since data had been used from the old game, somethings got carried into it- for example the catherdral. apparently minor things weren't the only things brought over. morgana was the name of a program- an a.i. that was suppose to give birth to the ultimate a.i. named aura. morgana tried so hard to stop the birth of an a.i. that was to take her place. and that statue was a statue of aura. she was created by harald hoerwick. she was to be his daughter. the duaghter he always wanted to have with emma wielant, but was never able to since she never loved him back." helba said.
"and it was her poem, the epitaph of the twilight, that harald based fragment on, which later became 'the world'. didn't you mention aura a some years ago, when you told me more about the 'twilight' incident?" i said
"yes. it was morgana and her 'cursed wave' that was at the cause." she said
the dot hackers, as they were called by players, had fought off a group of monsters who were from the epitaph, and in the poem these monsters were known as the cursed wave. even though i was playing the game at the time, i only play a small role behind the scenes. so i never knew all of what was going on until afterwards. but it's been years and i had kinda forgotten about things.
as we talked a bit more, she mentioned to meet her in the game. she said she would email me the place to meet here.
"so you're to resurect helba?" i asked. "and what about the net slums?"
"it seems helba will be needed again." she said. "since my old area, the net slums, remained seperate from 'the world', it should hopefully still be in tact."
after that we hung up, and i went to sleep.

i was amazed that this girl new my name. she had looked just like the statue of girl that had once appeared here in 'the world r1'. two players in the world may have simular avatars, but no two players can use the same name with the same style of writing. in the world r1 and fragment i had used kanji, but in the world r2 i had use letters from the roman alphabet.
i had never met this girl, so i don't see how she could know my name unless cc corp. programmed her as part of a special event for which i was selected. but i had my doubts about it.
after she had turned into the statue, i was perplexed even more. she was the exact copy of the statue that had once been here. she was bound in chains like the one before. i heard her voice echo throughout the cathedral.
"beowulf, please.... save... me.. from.. morgana beta.."
"what the...?"
i was cut short as a beam of light flashed and shot striaght towards me. somehow i had passed out in the real world. when i came to, a message was on my screen. it said i had aquired the sword of the twilight and that i had learned the ability 'data drain.' i was even more confused than before.
i looked at this sword. the blade had a golden color to it. the hilt was silver. the handel was black. on the bottem of the handel was and azure colored gem. i knew it wasn't a legal weapon in the game. i was familiar with all the weapons. i found it very use to, since i was an adept rouge. this new sword was one designed for a blade brandier, a class that uses one handed swords. they were the replacements for the blade masters of the old world.
i tried asking what this sword was for and who was morgana beta, but i got no responce. i asked what this data drain was, but i got no responce. i tried to switch out swords, but i noticed the sword i had was gone. i relized that my sword must have been replaced by this new one. atleat it wasn't a rare sword.
i switched out to the gunge lance. it was a one of a kind weapon i won from clearing a special event called 'ragnarok'. the gunge lance it the lance of the norse god odin. i usually had a few diffent weapons on me just in case i needed them. and this was one of those times. i couldn't go around using an illeagal sword, especially not while i have no clue why i have it.
i left the area right away and logged off. i figured my aunt might know something. especially since she, too has played the world as the famous hacker named helba. now don't jump to conclusions. she wasn't out to ruin the game. infact she helped to save it. she was on of the people who helped the legendary heroes kite and black rose. she was an enemy of the cc corp moderators, but after the part she played, they kinda over looked her activities a bit.
i took of my fmd and turned off my computor. i went down stairs and called her up.
"hey auntie, it me cye. i have something i need to talk to you about." i said.

the doors had been knocked open by the ball of white light. out of curiousity i started to give chase. when i entered, the ball of light was already on the other side of the long service hall. it hovered over a railing and stopped above an alter. it was something that was impossible for an ordinary player to do. the program stops players from climbing over the railing, since that's part of the boundery. in the previous incarnation of the world, a statue of of a young girl stood on the alter. she was tied in chains that were attached to the walls to her left and right. but with the new incarnation, the statue was gone for some reason. and all that was left were a few pieces of chains on the floor.
as i watched the ball of light hover, it started to change. a transparant form of a girl appeared. she looked identical to the statue that once stood there. suddenly she spoke.
"Beowulf. help me.... please... you must stop her..."
suddenly she was replaced a statue in chains, the very statue that had once stood there.
"what the... how did she know my name? who is this 'her' that she spoke of." i said to myself.
i had no idea what was going on. how could she know my name. even though it was a name i had since fragment, named after the legendary warrior, i don't see how this mysterious girl could know my name. and how did that statue appear?

it was an ordinary afternoon. i had just gotten out of work. upon getting home i logged into "The World". i had a few messages from members in the guild that i'm in, The Twilight Knights. the mentioned rumors of some strong and possibly immortal monster. i would have laughed it off as impossible if i hadn't been playing since 'fragment'. over the years, i've seen some of these imortal monsters. but they were that way because of a bug- a bug that nearly caused a second event like 'pluto kiss'.
'pluto kiss' was a virus that cause all commercial activities that relied on the internet to cease around the world. the economy to a huge blow. governments, transportation, businesses, and financial institutions- all stopped working. data was corrupted and and released, trains collided, airplanes crashed. it was pretty much the appocolypse. and what made it worse was that millitary instiillations had been infected. and these places had nuclear weapons. life was we had known it might have been wiped out because of nuclear missles because of some ten year old. yes a ten year old. it was a kid from L.A. California that created the virus. Figures, nothing good seems to come from there.
but the incident that almost became a secon 'pluto kiss' was stopped by a group known as the dot hackers, lead by kite and black rose. rumors spread, but no one knows what truelly happened except the dot hackers and cc corp. all that remains are rumors, since cc corp. tried to cover up what happened.
i wrote sent replies saying that it would be best to contact cc corp. and let the debuggers handel it. it's not like any one in our guild could do anything about it. from what i heard, kite wasn't a debugger from cc corp., so whatever powers kite used were illeagal. depending on how long this has been going on, their might be coma victums like in the previous cases. and if that's the case, i'm sure there will be another cover up. but that's better than not dealling with the situation at all.
i logged onto the bulliten boards. i scaned through, and started to notice that a few people have mentioned these unbeatable monsters. some were wondering if it had to do with some event. i started to get curious about how big the situation was.
i then logged into 'the world'. i appeared in the domed area of mac anu, where the chaos gate was. mac anu was a city that appeared in the original game. when they rebuilt the game they decided to keep mac anu and still kept it on the delta server. but this mac anu look somewhat different from the orriginal, yet it was still familiar since it was still a town of water and canels. and like in the previous game, the chaos gate was the only way for players to warp between towns and fields.
i decided to warp to a mysterious field. it was a field that had a cathidral. it was the only field with a cathidral. oddly enough this same field- field name and cathidral- appeared in the orriginal game and could only be reached from mac anu. i always wondered why it appeared in 'the world r2'.
i had heard some strange things were going on at this field. you may wonder why i didn't have someone come with me, just in case. well, even though i'm in a guild, i'm a solo player. i've always been one, since fragment- the beta version of the world r1. i entered the words 'hidden, forbbiden, holy ground'.
i warped to the cathidral. there were no monsters. no treasure. the cathidral sat in the middle of the lake. the bridge that lead from the cathidral had stopped part way and didn't connect to the edge of the lake. just as soon as i materialized i saw a ball of white light fly toward the cathidral doors and into the cathidral. i was shooked at what i just saw.

Welcome to 'The World', the largest MMORPG in... well... the world. After the fire that destroyed part of CC Corp. and the data for 'The World', CC Corp. desided to rebuild from scratch. Because of that, many fans were angry that they weren't able to use the characters they put so much effort into. Many fans used this event to finally kick the habbit. So I may just be the only one left from the beta version of 'The World', better known as 'Fragment'. Upon the official release, 'Fragment' was renamed 'The World'. At the height of popularity it had over 22 million players. But now only around 15 million players are playing the new version, and while it's lost quite a number of players it's still the most popular online game out there. The new version has become known as "The World R2" and the old version was known as "The World R1" to differenciate between to two seperate games.
Like all those who stayed with "The World" and all the noob's, I had to start from scratch. And I've finally surpassed the limitations of my original character since players are allowed to climb to higher levels than in "The World R1". I chose the job called adept rouge. Adept rouges can be a tough job, but are worth it. After completing the appropriate quests, adept rouges will be able to use the weapons of all the other jobs. And while people say that adept rouges are 'jacks of all trades, and masters of none' and that they're weak. But in my opinion, adept rouges are the best jobs. No other jobs had access to a wipe variety of great weapons. And if a part need a paticular job to join, an adept rouge can fill in the gab easily since they have access to weapons from other jobs. well... that's concidering if they have the right job expansions, which allows them to equip another job's weapons. And these expansion are aquired from certain quests.
But enough about that.

humorous story
i heard this story on the radio.
an american airlines jet was grounded because someone lit a match. apparently you can bring matches on the jet, but you can't light them. the reason why this lady lit the match- her flatulence was so bad she lit the match to cover up the smell.
