The end of a wanton movie debauchery.
I have attempted to compile a list of the movies I have watched this holiday, and thus, in no particular order (except they've been grouped by language) I present to you a rather impressive list. Including a brief note about it in general.
Korean films
Volcano High -- Very crazy, very funny and gives whole new meaning to fighting in school.
My Sassy Girl -- Guy is owned by girl, however he demonstrates a certain sweetness. It was very popular about 3 years back.
French films
Yamakasi les samourais des temps modernes -- Acrobatic building climbing and such other gripping acrobatics. Cool, funny and boy do the French speak fast.
Note: the stars *** next to the title means I don't know the name in English or that I can't remember what it was or that it just wasn't translatable.
Chinese films
Infernal affairs 1 -- It's a game of "you don't know that I know that you know.." between the triads and HK policeforce. The last "I know you don't know" wins and gets to live ^_~ starring the likes of Andy Lau and a few other famous ones.
Infernal Affairs 2 -- A prequel to the first, how and why characters become moles/good/bad.
Infernal Affairs 3 -- The aftermath to the first and what becomes of a bad man desperate to be good.
Shaolin Soccer -- Classic Steven Chow where he combines Shaolin Kung Fu with soccer to win. Hillarity ensues.
Fight Back to School 2 -- Sequel to another classic Steven Chow. He's a cop that goes undercover back to school and obviously suffers some funny mishaps.
*Sesame Court Judge -- Another Steven Chow and more hilarity as he tries to be an uncorruptable court judge.
Lawyer, Lawyer -- Steven Chow plays a funny lawyer.
Lucky Guy -- Steven Chow (I told you people I liked this guy >_>) in a story of delicious egg tarts about guys lucky enough to get the girl. Also funny.
Dance a Dream -- Stars Andy Lau and a lot of yummay tango dancing. The joys of dancing and money.
2002 -- A Nicholas Tse and Steven Fung where they fight ghosts for the HK police. Excellent begining however is degraded by two terrible romance sub-plots.
***Ah ghost! -- Er.. horror movie about a ghost wanting revenge on a supposedly unfaithful man? It's.. interesting and has some funny bits.
Those Were the Days -- Poncy director is sent back in time for dissing the good ol' days of movie making and it's suppose to be funny. Amusing at best.
Comic King -- Two men passionate about drawing/writing manga. Quite funny and uses a real-life cutie (Nicholas Tse) to play a comic book character.
Japanese/Chinese
Love on a Diet -- A fatman called Fatso helps a fatlady to lose weight so she can face her old boyfriend, however they fall in love. Romantic comedy, what can I say?
English films
White Chicks -- Good God it was awful seeing two black men pose as two white girls. The make-up had me nauseated and the jokes were saddening.
A Knight's Tale -- Read last times two page post ~_~
Cat Woman -- Same thing as above. 'nuff said.
The Blue's Brothers -- Dan Akroyd does not act like Dan Akroyd because he's so young but boy is that movie funny and has a very grooving sound track
The Prince of Egypt -- Disney's take on the Moses story.. eh.. could've been worse.
Starsky and Hutch -- Excellently funny movie with Owen Wilson and ******. Puff Diddy played a rather funny role. A definite must see.
Andre -- I can't believe I watched a movie to do with a stupid seal and a stupid family. Midday tv on a weekday is not interesting!!
Species 2 -- *makes weird face* not saying what I saw.
Chocolat -- Deliciously included with a small part is Johnny Depp. If you love chocolate then then is a movie for you. Make sure to have chocolate whilst viewing ^_^
The Mummy Returns -- Amusing sequel to The Mummy; it's a good time waster.
Red Dragon -- Beautiful movie prequel to Silence of the Lambs with the charismatic Anthony Hopkins playing the infamous Hannibal Lector.
*groans*.. I've got movies coming out of my eyes 0_0 and tomorrow I'll be back at school and won't have time to watch any movies. Ironic isn't it? So who wants to have a movie marathon with me sometime? I guarantee there are more movies to watch if you bring a VCR player along as well because ours doesn't work.
14 days.
28 movies.
I am f***ing drained of imagination. |
