The Story of the Moon Festival
Once upon a time, in a time of nine suns, there was a man that was an archer. He was very skilled and could shoot very far. One day, the nine suns got very close to the world. If nothing the suns weren't stop, they would destroy the world. The archer took his arrows and headed toward the suns' path. He shot eight suns, and only one remained. A few years later, the man got married. He lived a happy life. As he got older, he was afraid that he would soon die. One day, a goddess appeared to him and gave him a potion. She explained, "When you are about to die, drink this potion and you will become immortal." Then man took the potion and the goddess left. The wife was in the other room listening. She envyed her husband, and wanted to live forever too. One day, on a dark night with the full moon out, while the archer was sleeping, the wife stole the potion and drank it. She felt nothing, so she went outside. Suddenly, the wife felting herself lifting. She was floating. The archer heard something, and went outside. Went he got out, he saw his wife floating towards the moon. He tried to save her by grabbing her, but she drifted far away to reach. The goddess reappeared to him and told that his wife had drunken the potion. The wife became a frog and became part of the moon. When you look at the full moon, look to see if you see a frog.
The Story of the Moon Cake
A long time ago in China, there was a Civil War. The king was imprisoned. One night, a woman baked a cake and put a message in it. It told of when they will attack the invaders. The date was the eighth moon of the fifteenth sun. (In other words, the eighth month of the fifteenth day.) When the king got the message, they attacked on the night of the same date on the message.
Those were nice stories, eh? Yes, I did type these. By memory and hand. I might not get the whole story right, but this is how I remember it. Well, I'm going to eat my Moon Cake. Bye! ^^
