Burger King With Alex...and Diana!
Start: 3:05 PM CST
Hey guys! Yup yup, I know I haven't posted, and I should've, ya know? But lately, as I've told you earlier, I only get one hour of computer time. (If I'm lucky, two hours.)
Sunday Night
Argh...in the night, we had to do the whole rosary, but it was SO SLOW because my brother and sister didn't know how to pray it right... Oy.
Yesterday/Monday
Hmm...if only I could remember the finer details of the morning... Right. Forgot what I did in the morning, of course! (ARGH!)
Let's think...oh right! I woke up around 10-11 AM, and my mom had just finished making lunch. Beef with peppers along with rice, of course! So Diana was with me and we ate together with Ricky and mom. I wanted to have a nice conversation with my family today (but my mom always ruins it somehow), and Diana talked about her funny online chats, while I talked about wanting to go see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I don't remember HOW or WHY, but my mom started talking about Saddam Hussein, and how he was this rich, powerful man, but used his power for not good things, and yeah... And something about the army, that they drink their own urine to survive if they have no water. (She's always bringing stuff like this up. First of all, I'm EATING. I don't wanna hear of drinking urine! Second of all, why can't we have a nice chat? Whenever we talk with my mother, she always brings negative things up. I wonder if this is why hardly anyone likes her...) So LONG after I finished my lunch, I cleaned up, but my mom forced Diana and me down into the seats again and continued on with her lecture. (She tells the same lecture a couple times a day, and it usually lasts a 15-45 minutes? I'm not exaggerating here.)
I remembered that we all wanted to get on the computer, but in order for us to get on the computer, we had to pray the "Hail Mary" prayer correctly in Vietnamese three times. Last time, my sister and brother struggled to pray the whole rosary, so yeah... (I said it the most correct, Diana being second, and Ricky, getting a bunch of words mixed up, putting him last.) I thought since I said it the most correctly, I would get to go on the computer first, but no! She made us draw numbers written on sheets of paper and balled up. (What was the point of saying the prayer correctly then? I mean, I'm okay with praying, but what did it have to do with the computer...?) We all grabbed one paper, and I got number 1! Diana got 2, and Ricky got 3. I'd say that was a pretty fair pick. (Since it corresponded with how well we did with our prayers. XP)
So I got on the computer, and talked with Alex! (On Sunday, I had planned that we would go to Burger King together!) I had a confusing chat with Melinda, Nickkie, and Sue. We were gonna go to McDonalds because Nickkie's brother usually passed the street where Burger King was. We wanted her to go, and we even said we'd go to McDonalds instead. But she wouldn't go. Melinda wanted to come, but she needed to go pick up her brother's girlfriend from the airport.
So that left me with Alex...and Diana! (I forgot to mention Diana a TON of times. XP)
So my mom was...at my neighbor's house and I called her to tell her we were going. (It took me a few tries, but she was always busy. She called me back a bit later.) I also tried to call Alex's, but it was also busy... Ugh.
Diana and I set off biking to Alex's house! When we reached the street leading towards the highway, I then realized that one of the hand breaks of the bike was messed up! So I tried to fix it, but it broken even more. (So I had to rely on the left hand brake, even though from force of habit I used the right.) My sister was biking so SLOW. She was leading...for a while. (I had to stop abruptly because she was so slow! It's like a car going...20 miles an hour, and the car in front of it is going...5 miles and hour. When that slow car stops, the car behind it has to stop ABRUPTLY. It makes this screeching sound, and it hurts. -_-;;)
Also, in one corner, we passed by a group of four black kids, and they saw Diana and me biking, and they started saying things like, "Ching chong..." and "Wahh.... Waahh..." ("Wahh..." is a "karate" sound.) Basically, they were making "Chinese" sounds and laughing at us. (Gah, racist people here.)
So we waited by the school, and Alex came soon! YAY! We biked off into the Eaglewood area, going straight, and switching the person who was leader, OVER AND OVER. (Confusing! We had to do that because Diana was so especially slow. XP) Alex kept going on the grass, and I had to stop my bike abruptly because at one point of time, my sister was leading, and she stopped. -_-;;
But we can't blame my sister for being so slow. This is the second time she's biked so far. Alex and I have been doing this every 2 days for the past month now. (Except this was the first time I went biking with Alex for TWO WEEKS! That was the week of July 4th.)
So we took a turn...somewhere and kept heading until we reached Beechnut. The sidewalks on that street were blocked by numerous garbage cans, multi-parking cars in one driving, and sometimes no sidewalk at all!
About this time Alex realized she didn't bring a chain or lock!!! WAH! We were doomed... -_-;;
We took the safe way, turning right after reaching the gas station, and going in swiggles. We stopped by Dollar General, to buy a chain and lock. Unfortunately, they only sold locks. (And what good is a lock if you can't lock something with it?) Diana came in with me, although I told her to stay with Alex. I went and talked with Alex. We talked about our plans to keep safe our bikes, like tying them all together with rope, or asking the people who worked at Burger King REALLY NICELY if we could leave them inside. (Diana was inside buying a fruit drink.) After having a drink, we biked on. We reached a really cool-looking lighted place, like light beaming down and making the light look as if it went through a window blind... (There was also a lot of graffiti, with gangs marking their territories. But what did I know? I saw them, but had no idea what they meant. XP) Alex took pictures of them! (She's an aspiring photographer! She was interested in them, but said she had weird tastes in pictures. XP Also, when we met up at the school, she took pictures of clouds. She took TONS of pictures of the clouds. I have to say, though, summer clouds are so beautiful... Like...a deep blue fading down to a sky blue, and hidden above large white clouds, its pure white color piercing against a deep blue sky... Eh, I'm such a poet. XP)
So we headed over to Burger King. Now this was the HARD part. Where to put our bikes! Some guy left his biked chained to a tree, but what to do with ours? We were gonna ask if we put them in, but everyone was too shy. Alex and Diana did go in, but they didn't ask. We were gonna leave them there too. Then Alex thought of tying the bikes together with the rope from her camera holder. We tied it in TONS of knots, so yeah. XP
We were still afraid that someone could undo them. Oh yeah! A group of three boys (I think one Asian, one Hispanic, and one black) brought their bike with them, but left it by the front door.
I asked the manager of the Burger King if we could put our bikes somewhere, like in the playground area. He said he wished he didn't. (I think he added we could arrested for that?!) But he did say we could leave it by the window and watch it.
So yeah...going back to the bikes. We saw the owner of the bike who had locked it to a tree! It was an employee (Asian, higher high school?), and I was about to ask to borrow his lock, but I changed my mind.
So we went in, happy that we got that over, ordered, and ate.
Ah, that made me SOO happy to get that whole thing over! While I was eating with Diana and Alex, we had such funny little talks. I also learned that Alex and me HATE pickles, but somehow, our brothers like to eat them so much. (Her brother drinks the pickle juice... EWW.)
We just talked about random things. Like this! Alex said that she loved pink SO MUCH when she was little, but hates it now. I said Diana liked pink A TON too! For example, one time when Diana was little, she was sick, and my mom was trying to give her medicine (a green or purple color, can't remember), but Diana said, "No, I want to drink the PINK medicine!" (She was pointing to a bottle of Pepto-Bismol.)
OH MY GOSH. After I told Alex this, we kept laughing on for minutes! She even had to climb to the next booth seat and laugh herself out... XP (At this time, Diana was playing with Alex's camouflage M*A*S*H cap... ^^;;)
We made some kind of circle (Diana said it was a triangle!) and we prayed "Ohmm..." in mock. XP Alex said, "If we had four people, it would be a square!" I added, "If we had SEVENTEEN people, it would be a septdecigon!" (They were confused the minute I said "septdecigon".)
A septdecagon (I actually said it wrong when I was in BK. It's "deca", not "deci".) is a 17-sided polygon. Well, I'm pretty it is. Either that, or a 70-sided polygon. XP
Diana started using big words by then, and I got pretty confused... @_@
When I was watching the bikes, I said, "AGH! That bird is trying to steal our bikes!" (Alex and Diana ACTUALLY turned around. XP)
Oh yeah...one time while I was talking, Diana and Alex weren't listening to me, they were watching a fly on its back trying to get up! XP @_@!
Umm...and then Alex told us a story about a day when she was eighth grade when she hooked her friend's fox tail keychain to her back and walked around school with that. People laughed at her, and one guy, in the lunch line, asked her what it is. She replied, "It's my tail!" (Everyone started laughing... XP)
Also, she was telling us how people think she's so quiet. (Not true!) It's like me and Diana too! We talk A LOT, but not when we don't have to. Especially school! School, I hardly talk, since I don't have most of my friends in my classes, so yeah... No one to talk to sometimes.
Gah! Burger King probably makes so much money in the summer! Tons of kids come here during the summer! Let's see...
There was us, of three people.
There was that earlier group with three people. (One Asian, one Hispanic, one black.)
There was that group with three blacks.
There was that group with three Hispanics.
Hehe, everyone travels in pairs of threes. (I don't mean to sound racist when I state their race. I just try to be detailed... ^^;;)
But then when we left, four black kids came in. The "three group" chain had been broken. XP
Oh yeah! When I first came in, I thought I recognized one of the people in the group, and I waved "hello!" But when I looked closely, it wasn't him! (GAH! I hate when that happens! When you think you see someone you know, say "hello", until you realize it's not them. -_-;;)
So yeah. We got pretty full after a while and headed out to leave. Alex kicked the door to open it. o_O;; (It was a glass door, and four black kids, all wearing yellow shirts, blue jeans--some were shorts were by the door when she kicked it, and I think they took it offensely. ^^;;)
Ahhh...I sounded old when I said this, but I added, "Now, does anyone have to go before we leave?" (Then we started discussing how our parents and brothers always use weird words. Like: "I have to go tinkle." or "I have to go make a poopy." JUST SAY "RESTROOM"!!!)
So we started biking off. We stopped by that graffiti-sprayed area again, and she took pictures of me posing with Diana. We played around in there for a bit. Diana said it looked like an underground subway! (Yeah, it did!) She said it looked like the train station where Harry Potter went to get to Hogwarts Express. (9 and 3/4s, was it? To show it, at the end, she took her bike and tried to bike across a SOLID brick wall! OH MY GOSH! XP Of course, she crashed. XP)
There was an archway by there, and I said it looked like the portal from Spirited Away, when they were going through the tunnel to reach that amusement park. Alex ran through it! ^^;;
Ah, to Alex, this has been a "magical adventure"! Haha, in a way, it has been. XP
We biked all the way home to Alex's house, then we stopped by Nickkie's home, chewed some gum, and talked. (We didn't bother to get Nickkie out, we just sat in the front of her house.) Her mom came home holding a little kid and waving to us. XP
Well, the sun was setting pretty low, and we headed our separate ways. (Alex said she would stop by the playground before going home.)
Until...Diana told me Alex forgot her hat! So we started biking towards her house pretty fast! Of course, I didn't see a glimpse of Alex at the house. Diana was biking so slow, but I had to get Alex...
I reached her house and knocked on the door, but they already saw me before I even knocked on the door. (Also, I heard yelling...well, not yelling, but an argument before they opened the door.) It was Alex's mom, and Alex hadn't come home yet. (She still believed Alex was with Sue and Nickkie! XP)
I saw Alex biking through the street of her house, and told her that she left her hat there. She said it was okay, and she would go look for it tomorrow.
So Diana and I biked home. I wanted to go back to look for Alex's hat (the camo M*A*S*H one that Diana was playing with), but I had to go home before nightfall, and I didn't trust Diana biking by herself. Also, my mom might've been angry.
OH! On the way Diana and I were biking home, we passed the park close by Alex's house. A little black kid screamed out (probably to his mom?), "THAT BOY HAD SEVEN GIRLS WITH HIM!!!" (My expression: o_O??? If you know by now, most of my friends are girls, and I have only passed by that park with the most people of 4???)
So we biked home. I prayed (yes, I prayed!) that Alex's hat would stay there until she got back to Burger King and got it. Then I took a shower.
Oh, you're probably wondering why we went to BK by bike. Well, we were bored, Alex promised she'd bike to BK before she left to go to her vacation. Oh yeah! Her vacation. She's going to Pennsylvania and Virginia Wednesday, so it might be the last time we get to hang out...
After showering, my mom told me to go water the grass. After watering the grass, I found my mom snooping around in my room! o_O! (What the...?!) She was looking through my manga books, trying to see if there was "bad" stuff in there. -_-;; (I had Ark Angels, Alice 19th, and Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden out. GAH. FY:GK was...inappropriate, I think. -_-;;) She was also snooping around my anime/manga drawings, and reading stuff I wrote down in my notebook to remind myself what to do each day! (ARGH!!! INVASION OF PRIVACY!!!)
She also saw Memoirs of a Geisha on my bed. I had been reading it earlier, but didn't bother putting it up. -_-;; She said An Suc's older sister came by (along with 10 other people!) to look around the house. (My mom is always giving tours of the house to people, and that includes my EVERYONE'S ROOM, including my sister--who doesn't clean, and my room.) My mom said that An Suc's older sister (she was in her late 20s, early 30s) said I was smart to read that book, but that book gives people "wrong" thoughts. (Okay, so it's a perverted book. I don't care about that! It's a really sad book!) So I tried to explain to my mom the STORY of Memoirs of a Geisha as to why I read it.
This is the way I explained it to my mom. This is not a very good sypnosis, so go find a better one! XP
Chiyo and Satsu were two children of a poor fisherman in Japan. Their mother was always sick. One day, their mother died, and their father had sold them off because he couldn't take care of them anymore. Chiyo and Satsu were sold to an okiya (where geishas worked--I didn't know how to say this in Vietnamese, so I said "a place where girls go to learn dancing, arts, etc.")
After that, we came down and prayed. After praying, I wanted to show Ricky a glitch I knew about in Pokemon, but he deleted ALL HIS DATA on his Red (originally mines), Blue, and Yellow! WAH! *screams*
We went upstairs and all three of us played Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. After that, I headed to sleep. I didn't really sleep though. I stayed up all night in bed reading Memoirs of a Geisha. It was something about that book that pulled me in. I was about 3/4s done with the book. (Spoiler: I was in the part when Japan was in WWII, the Depression.) I found it sad, but I still wanted to read on.
It's a pretty great book. So sad too. I heard that the movie is different from the book, so I need to see what the movie's all about...
I finished the book around...2 AM in the morning, and went to sleep.
Today
I woke up around...10-11 AM? My sister wanted to use the computer, so she took the key that she had kept from yesterday, unlocked the room, and used the computer.
I went to go take a bath, and after that, I went to go use the computer. But it started storming really bad, and my mom told me to turn off the computer. I came downstairs and saw my brother was cooking pasta and my mom making winter gourd soup. Umm...my brother wanted me to make the sauce, so I did. But when he ate it, he said it had a chalky taste. (Yeah, it kind did... ^^;;)
Um, after we had finished eating, my brother started to yell "I'm BORED!!!" My mom HATES hearing that phrase. She told Ricky to go outside, make some friends, or do something. He could do anything, but he just wanted to stay home.
My sister was on the computer... I asked her to get off, and she angrily did. She went to bed after that.
I chatted with Lac-Hong, who I hadn't seen in forever! She's still in Dallas. (Today was the longest chat I had with her.)
Trangie came back to P.A. from Houston yesterday!
And Alex!!! Oh! Remember that camo cap she lost? Well, she biked REALLY QUICKLY that same day to Burger King and found her cap under the table, wedged between a seat! (She almost got in trouble, and hoped that no one realized she came back with the hat.) She went to go look when they did their recycling thing...
I'm sad. Alex is going to Pennsylvania and Virginia tomorrow! She won't be back until a few weeks later! WAH!!!!!!!!! She wanted me to come, and that I could stowaway in her luggage. MUAHAHAHA! (Too bad I can't!)
My sister and mom went grocery shopping. I'll talk to you guys later! Bye!
So long a post. XP
