Start: 9:37 PM CST
I had the most CONFUSING Christmas ever. Let me tell you why.
Saturday
I was woken up by my dad, and my mom said we had to go around cleaning the whole house, trying to get ready for Christmas.
In the computer room, I was cleaning the food crumbs and dust off the computer, and I tried cleaning the mousepad. I saw this string coming off, and I pulled it. What happened? A chunk of mousepad came off! (I just destroyed an antique mousepad... *cries*)
Sunday/Christmas Eve
I went to church around 11:30 PM, at Vu's church! I tried looking for Vu, but he wasn't there...
We went to go eat at CiCi's Pizza, but I told everyone to rush, so I could go Christmas shopping. I wanted to stop by Bogard Village so I could go to that Sanrio-like store to buy stuffed animals for my friend's Christmas presents! We never did, so this is what happened...
Well, first, we stopped by Mercado, which is a flea market close by. And it means "store" in Spanish! Ahh...I thought it would suck, but it was so cool inside! All this stuff I couldn't find in regular stores! And there was even a store that sold katanas! (Only 18+ people could buy them.)
There was a sign by the store. It said:
"We are not responsible for you being stupid!"
That was funny.
And I found this controller that has 1,000+ old NES video games on it. Ahhh... And another store that sold wind chimes, and...ARGH! I can't go on! But we couldn't find our parents for a while...and they called my phone, and we went outside.
I wanted to buy something, but my sister wouldn't let me. GRR.
We stopped by Viet Hoa, where my dad said for us to stop.
But I got curious. I saw a jewelry store, and me and my sister started looking around.
I picked out two things for Alaina, and one for Melanie. Diana, on the other hand, picked out three jade bracelets/necklaces for herself.
When I went to the cashier, it rang up: $99. I was so surprised, but I still paid the price, too embarrassed to say "no".
So I went into the grocery store where my parents were shopping, and they got REAL MAD. My dad came first and started yelling about how cheap the jewelry was. But the cashier kept yelling that it was real jade, and such. My dad wanted to return it, but all he yelled about was that the jewelry was cheap... (He kept saying that she charged us a ton of money and how he could go to another store and buy the same thing for $2... OY.) The cashier (a woman) got real sad...
I went to go outside, and my dad, in a fit of rage and fury, grabbed the bag full of jewelry and stomped on it. I grabbed it as quickly as I could. (Too late: They were broken now.)
Now my mom tried. AHHH...still didn't work! Now they started yelling...in Chinese.
My mom and dad kept saying that we were little and that we didn't know how to use money. That cashier woman said that her son was 9 years old and that he had more sense than us. (They were yelling at each other in Mandarin Chinese...)
And then her husband got involved. And then my mom got the police involved. The policeman couldn't help either. He said that it was her store, and she could do whatever she want.
But the woman...she covered her "no return" sign behind a lot of things. And the policeman said that next time, she should move her signs to a more seeable area.
So we left... My parents were so angry, and they were yelling at us...
$99 wasted on jewelry, and then my dad stomped on it until it broke.
But when I got home, I found out only 2 of the 6 pieces of jewelry were broken! (Both things I got for Alaina were broken...but none of Diana's was broken. Hah, she got the expensive stuff.)
My stuff: $33
My sister's stuff: $66
She never looks at the price. (I had the money. But for my sister? I had to pay FOR HER.
Now I'm too scared to go into that store! (And I liked that store!!!)
Her husband still wants us to shop there though. I hope they can forgive my parents... *sniffs* And me. (I know I did nothing to them, but they might be angry at me.)
Ahh...we had to do chores. Scrub the top-floor bathrooms clean. (And there are two...) Toilet, sink, bathtub, floor, etc.
After that, we went to our Christmas Eve mass...
We went to Ngoi Loi Nhap The, and the church was SO CROWDED!!! I found Dianna, and she helped me and Diana dig through the crowd... We stood on the right side of the church...and then she left us.
Church was so peaceful. There was this little Nativity scene, with Mary, Jesus, and these little kids dressed as angels. There was one girl who went up to sign "What Child Is This?" It was so cute! But I could hear lots of Vietnamese people talking amongst themselves while she was doing this. (How mean!)
Well...after church, I went to go say hi/bye to everyone and wish them a Merry Christmas. I said it to Dianna, Dalena, Anne (Dianna's and Dalena's eldest sister), John, and there were so many people, I can't remember!
It was...11 PM by then. I had a root beer, then stayed up until 2 AM on the computer. Then I went to sleep.
Monday/Christmas Day
Ahh...we went to church around 10:30 AM, but we were so rushed! My mom said we were going to church around 7 PM, but my dad said there wasn't any church then.
So we rushed off to church! (I brought my scarfie: I haven't worn this since Lubbock, three/four weeks ago!)
Umm...so then my parents start driving to EVERY Vietnamese church in Houston!!! ARGHH!!! My parents believe that if you stopped at every Vietnamese church on Christmas in Houston and prayed there, then your wish will come true.
So we stopped at:
St. Justin Martyr (We went to church in the morning here.)
Ngoi Loi Nhap The (My usual church!!! SO EMPTY...)
Notre Dame
By now, we had gone for sandwiches. And then we started driving towards North Houston!
Then we went to:
Lo Duc
La Vang
But for La Vang, the doors were locked, so we couldn't come in.
Next was such a strange place. It was a very small church, built only to fit...maybe 100 people? But it was so beautiful...
The church was made of a sand-colored brick, and there was a very beautiful garden, with a square (it's actually a circle) with a statue in the middle. I think it was St. Francis of Assisi.
There weren't much people there...except the priest and a young man. (Poor priest. Alone on Christmas Day...)
After praying, Diana, Ricky, and I went outside, to find two black dogs with gold/orange eyes. They were so pretty. But so cold. And lonely. There was a girl and a guy dog. The girl one was trying to chew on a piece of bone covered in ants. It was so sad...
But we had to leave...
Now to another part of Houston! We went to the church that we went to the Crawfish/Spring Festival last April... But I don't know the name.
We prayed outside since the doors were lock. (And it was past sunset by this time.) A woman (the only car there) parked and walked to the chapel (in the far back) and asked when church started. But we didn't know. And there was probably no church then anyways.
We went to go order at Sonic... I had the fries. No salt. Then we listened to music on the radio...and circled the city...
We stopped by the airport to pick up our uncle!
At first, I was signing and talking to my sister at the same time. (I was real excited. Why? Because I wanted to hear people speak foreign languages!!!)
So I walked around with my sister, and we sat by the edge, and we looked at pictures on my phone, and then she took my scarf and pretended she was a penguin!!! *laughs* (My scarf is black on one side, and on the other side, it's a white/ivory.)
There were also two Middle Eastern kids (about our age) walking around, waiting for someone too.
I tried looking around for gift shops...but the only one opened was the one I went to when we first came into that area of the airport. They were selling Texas-themed stuff. Shirts, keychains, etc. Well, it was Christmas, so I would understand.
And then...our uncle came! Like...an hour later?!
Ahh...but there was another woman who came to pick him up! (Kinda like a escort/taxi driver.)
Ooh...my uncle's a player. (EWWW...)
While we were waiting outside, there was a young...Vietnamese (I dunno, but he was Asian) guy that asked my dad if he had a lighter. My dad didn't smoke, but a chaffeur, a tall, bald, white man in a black leather jacket was waiting by a black car. (Why does that feel so clichèd?)
But we drove ALL the way to Hobby Airport (about an hour away?) for NOTHING... GWAHHH!!!
I spent the rest of the night on the computer. OH! Diana and I left our computers on since church, and we were both on MapleStory. It said:
"You have played MapleStory for 11 hours(s). We suggest you quit playing."
Or something like that.
But we left it for 11 HOURS!!! OH MY GOSH...
Tuesday/Today
I was woken up by my cell phone. One of my dad's friends calling me. (He gave me his old cell phone number.)
Umm...my dad wanted me to go to the mailbox (a block away) and mail some letters. OH! That reminded me! I had to mail Melanie/Trangie's gift! So my dad helped me break into my parent's closet (when my mom's not home, no one's allowed inside) and helped me get a card, an envelope, and he even got a stamp!
Well...I wrote her letter, stuck the present in (not telling you what it is!!! She KNOWS my website...) and delivered it.
Hope it doesn't get lost!
And all day, I stayed home and played on my laptop...
Around...2-3 PM, my parents drove our uncle from Vietnam home and his lady friend from yesterday. They talked, watched TV, and then had dinner.
I came down for dinner, and my dad wanted me to talk to my uncle. Problem was, my uncle ONLY spoke Vietnamese, and I'm too shy to speak Vietnamese with adults.
So I ate...and heard my dad and uncle talk about stuff from Vietnam...
My sister came down to eat too.
Oh! Vu's coming to my party. And OH!!! ALAINA CAN COME!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My parents, plus my uncle and his girlfriend went to Moon Cafe. (Hey, wasn't my mom screaming a few weeks ago about how it was a stupid place because it was strip club?)
WEIRD...
Anyways, they're not home right now.
I should do laundry.
And post up my new theme. (I did, but it turned out UGLY, so I'm re-doing it!)
Merry Christmas to all!!!!
