Yay!
I just added two things I colored last night on the computer. I've never done coloring on a computer before. It's kinda fun! I don't have photoshop though. It's called Microsoft Picture it! Publishing. It's okay, but everything takes a REALLY long time. I can't do a whole lot with it either. It's kinda of hard to figure out certain things.

Plus, I have to color with the mouse. That means drawing all my lines over and everything, with, a mouse. It's hard. And you can't just fill something, you have to completely color it in. And it's like markers, once you go over something once it's darker the next time you go over it. That's really annoying because you have to get it right the first time! Grr. And you can only undo one stroke, that's it. Otherwise you have to start that section all over. Grr again.

Still, I do like it, despite all the annoyances. And each of my two pics only too me about an hour and a half to two hours. Considering all the problems I don't think that's bad. So, I don't care if people like them or not, I'm happy and kinda proud of myself...especially for doing it all with a mouse.

Other people must have some kind of drawing tablet or something...right? Because it's not easy to do it the way I did. I should do some research.

Anyway, done with the rant. just happy.

   Fushigi Yuugi!!!!
Oh my gosh I love it! I started the series umm.....a few days ago, and I'm on episode 49. I probably shouldn't have gone through it so fast. It's good to slow down and enjoy it, but it's SO addicting!!!! I can't even help it. I can't just watch one episode. I have to watch like 6 or 7 at a time. I'm not getting anything done because I'm obsessed with what's happening next. Maybe if every SINGLE episode didn't end on a total cliff hanger!

I have to take a break now, but I'm only 3 episodes away from the final. I have to finish it tomorrow. Man, I thought I liked Sailor Moon, but this is better. I have to tie them for my favorites, because I've liked sailor moon since I was young, but I knew this was going to be a serious favorite at about the 5th episode or so. It just keeps getting better.

Sigh....okay, enough of the rant. I just had to get it out. I'm in love with this show!

Chii or Chi?
Which is it? I'm not sure. The episode titles say "chii" but so many people put up their pics as "chi". I heard someone say that the manga says it's Chi. Which one is right?

Chii
I just submitted my first Chii! I'm excited because she's really fun to draw. I hope I did alright with her. I know there are some mistakes in it, but I'm still learning.

I think I'm going to add links to the pictures I talk about in my posts. That way people will know which ones to go see if they read this. I'll have to edit this when she is posted.

I really like the show so far, well, except the fact that Hideki's a giant perv. Although it is funny that he's always so worried that everyone's going to think that he is...but he really is a perv! I just finished the 4th episode. It's great. Panties....panties...panties.... I laughed so hard. I can't wait to see more.

just added another pic
While I was here sick in bed I drew a pic that's sort of supposed to be my bosses daughter Haley. I made her a little older though. She's only 4 right now. But she has these cute little ringlets.

I know I know, I said I was going to practice with different head positions, but this popped into my head and I wanted to do it. I right hand came out fine, and didn't take me long, but the left one....I guess it's okay, but man, I had such a hard time with it.

I also had a hard time with the sitting position. It ended up looking more like she's up on her knees rather than almost sitting on her feet. I should have made the angle steeper...oh well. Live and learn.

I love the tree though! I wasn't even going to add a background and then I changed my mind. I've never done a tree like this before. It has all these spikey poofball leaves. I think it's adorable! Okay, that's enough for now...gotta go to bed.

Ah-choo!
Yep, sick. I'll be in bed for a while, so I better get to drawing. I just submitted my next one. She's not the greatest, but I like her. I just randomly drew her while I was on my break. I wasn't paying that much attention, so I drew her a little crooked and one eye is bigger than the other. I don't know though, there's something about her face that I like.

I really need to experiment with more positions, hands, and hairstyles. I'll try and work on that while I'm in bed. I need to do a face that's not centered. Maybe like an over the shoulder or something. I'll figure it out later. Right now, it's bedtime.

   my first fairy
I did it! My very first fairy. I have pictures in my head of all sorts of different ones, and they're a lot more complex than this little one. I just know I'm not skilled enough to attempt them yet. So this was my first try.

I actually did hands too! And they look like hands! Although the right one.....me and that right one got in a fight last night. I probably redrew that about 60 times. I tried all kinds of different positions, but no matter what I did it always ended up looking like a claw. Grr. That last position I tried actually worked.

Also, I wasn't going to color her very much. She was going to be minimally shaded at first, but then her hair cried out, "make me dark purple!" And her wings kept saying, "Color me more!" So now I have gone from a simple little fairy, to a technicolor one. Oh well, I still think she's cute.

I'm only bummed because I started her so far to the edge of my sketchbook that I ran out of room. If I had known I was going to draw something I actually liked I would have put her in the middle. I just figured that since she's my first one she'd be aweful and I wouldn't color her or post her. Oh well.

   I'm really happy!
I just submitted my next drawing. I'm actually really proud of this little sketch. I'm aweful at drawing bodies. I can usually only draw them in a standing position. I wanted to make Usagi an angel sitting with her head down and hugging her knees. Well, I'm not so good at hands, so she's hugging her legs under her knees. I copped out of the hands this time.

I tried to make her hair kind of frazzled. I also used dark lines, harsher angles, and simple shading to contrast her body to the wings. I wanted them to look soft and feathery. They sort of came out like what I wanted, but I've never done wings before.

I really wanted it to envoke a certain emotion. It's hard to do that! I wanted her to seem sad, lonely, tired, and peaceful all at the same time. She doesn't look really sad in her face, but maybe the position of her body shows that she's sad. I'll have to keep practicing, but I've never made a body that's looked like what it's supposed to before.

Also, I didn't even use a reference picture. I thought I needed one to draw anime, because i'm so new at it, but I just thought of this one in my head and sat down and drew it! Hopefully I'll just keep getting better.

   Submitted my first drawing
I haven't drawn anything in years. I used to sketch people, either from models or photos. It's always been really hard for me to draw things that aren't lifelike. So this is going to be a challenge for me. I finished my first sailor moon picture. Well the pencil drawing at least. I'm happy with it, but I forgot that the scanner flips the picture around. so it's backwards, and it doesn't look quite right to me anymore. Also, it looks way better in my book than on my computer. Why is that?

I was really mad too, because I did it in pencil and my scanner wouldn't pick it up. So I had to trace it in pen. Well, then I messed up some of the lines, had to use white out....it was a mess. So now I have a wobbly lined picture of Usagi. Oh well, I still like it.

I can't wait to color it, but I only have colored pencils and markers. Oh, and crayons....that's right, crayola all the way. I don't have anything fancy, and I especially don't have photoshop, which would be really cool. I love shading, and I think that's what I'm best at. There are so many cool effects in photoshop. I know I would have a ball. Oh well, this is it for now.

I just hope it doesn't get totally shot down for being bad. There's definitely some things I need to work on, but this was my first pic in such a long time. I've never really done anime before, but I love sailor moon. Wait, I guess I take that back. I think I drew the scouts one time when I was like 11, but who knows where they are now. They were probably extremely cheesy too. Well, hopefully I'll get better from here. I'll have to wait and see what people think.
