Welp, im posting it, weather you like it or not. here goes (send me feedback, please.)
Chapter I- Opened eyes
"The eclipse happened once every ten thousand years. The midnight sun is an eclipse at midnight that the sun appears over the moon for one hour exactly, and supercharging everyone in the entire world. This power, is more destructive than anyone person, object, or power in the entire universe. It is said that the midnight sun is even more powerful than the twin gods."
"Really?"
"We shall see."
A bright light awoke Vincent Hakumei from a long, painful sleep. It took a moment for him to remember..." Vance shivered.
It all happened when he was 9 years old. Seven years ago. Vance remembered all his life living in some kind of shield, protected. He wouldn't have said he was spoiled, no, but it was a barrier of other sorts. Vance had always been confused, as if looking at life through a glass wall. He remembered sometimes some other children would look at him funny, as if something was wrong. He knew now what it was.
Vance wasn't all human, in fact, he was only half. He never understood what else he was, something strange. It was as if a missing puzzle piece had been taken from his life, but Vance was well enough aware that was why he was shunned. When Vance was nine years old, 3 silver guards arrived at his house in the dark of midnight. The rest he could hardly remember in a blur...
The guards drawing their swords silently with the wisp on steel on steel. Vance's mother screaming and yelling to run, Vance hesitating and being whacked on the shoulder, running for the door yelling for his mother, reaching for the doorknob and a long strait blade running down his back, from the shoulder to the hip, and no more.
Vance ran up the stairs, across the catwalk, and jumped up on the top of the ancient, crumbling monastery he slept in last night, it was the closest thing he had to a home. To the north of him was the village of Glefer. Glefer wasn't the village he was born and raised in, quite the opposite in fact. Vance was born in Del'Haven, the imperial capital of the entire world. But how he had arrived was a bazaar mystery to Vance. At the time he had woken up from the night his mother was killed, he was on the very sanctuary he was now standing on.
It could be worse.
Vance thought quietly to himself.
Glefer was a small quaint little town that Vance got by on without to many funny looks. Unfortunately, Vance never wanted to see it again. It seemed sometimes he was followed all day, but when he turned around, there was no one there. He stumbled down the winding interior of the monastery and upon reaching the bottom, began his walk to the village.
Upon reaching the village, Vance began to feel the usual being watched presence. He veered of the main road into an alley and prepared himself to spin around and find his stocker. The presence drew closer, unaware of Vance's intentions. It grew closer.
Closer.
Closer.
Footsteps.
Clip.
Clop.
Clip.
Clop.
Vance could feel its breath on the back of his neck. He could hear its heart beat.
Vance jumped out to behind him and...
There was no one there. Vance relaxed a little bit. It seemed he had been letting his imagination running away with him.
Breath down the back of my neck? Please!
Vance chuckled to himself. He turned and was greeted by pure black eyes and a black grin.

Vance woke pretty tired. He tried to remember what had happened, he guessed that the last thing that had happened was that he knocked out, He wasn¡¯t quite sure why.
"Are you awake?" A voice called to him in a dreamy echo.
Vance sat up abruptly, and saw he was in a room well lit by candle fire. He was lying on the floor of what looked like a small room. A young girl with relatively long blond hair and blue eyes sat beside him on the floor. She smiled softly to Vance, seeing him awake. Vance was still seeing stars before his eyes, but he could see clear enough to see her.
Amazing! She's beautiful!
"Are you okay?"
Vance was confused. Why was he here with this girl? His head was throbbing from whence he passed out...
Wait! I don't remember passing out... RIGHT! Someone attacked me! Then that means... this girl... what do I do? I'll have to act as if I was never attacked by her and don't remember a thing, it'll work to my advantage if she thinks I have forgotten it.
"I'm fine, but thanks." Vance said without a hint of doubt in his voice.
"Um... uh... what's your name?" Vance asked shyly, rushing quickly through the words, feeling a red blush cross his face.
The girl kindly smiled again and curiously said,
"Of course, I'm sorry. My name is Selena. What about- "
"Open up!" a voice called from another room.
Selena turned to room door, then back to Vance.
"I'm sorry, but it appears that someone is here for me. Can you excuse me for a moment?
"Uh... sure." Vance answered slowly, totally puzzled. Even though she was pretty, he would have to keep a level head on his shoulders.
I suppose this could get pretty serious if that girl as devious as I think she is.
"I'll be back in a moment, okay?"
Before Vance could even respond she stood up and floated through the door. The door swung shut behind her. Vance silently sauntered over to the door to listen.
There was some murmuring for a while and Vance could hear naught what they were saying. Finally someone spoke up.
"And finally treason. The judgment upon you is death on the morrow. You will accompany us to the local prison until then."
Thought Vance couldn't see Selena, imagined a panic-stricken look upon her face.
"Me? What leads you to believe I have joined the resistance? The... The Guardians of the Midnight Sun?"
Vance started.
That girl, whoever she was, was just accused of treason! What's going on here?
Vance thought, panic-stricken of what to do. He was in the backroom of the house of a resistance and there was nowhere to run. If he headed out of the room, the guards, on instinct would probably kill him. Even if he wasn't, being housed in a resistance home is just as bad as being in with the resistance. There was nowhere to run, and Vance panicked. He saw an average hand-and-a-half sword on the wall, and quickly snatched it up.
The only way out was death... or...
Vance thought about the empire and then the resistance in turn. The empire was evil just for the fact of them killing his innocent mother and attempting to kill him. But the resistance was bad in all perspectives, especially the empires. Practically, Vance hadn't had very many thoughts on either side until now, and if he could, he would go neutral. Selena had been accused of treason, and so had his mother.
What if this is a fake accusation and they're framing her! I won't let the empire spill innocent blood again! Vance quickly thought looking to the perfect blade in his hands.
Screams were issuing from the next room. Time was running out. Vance had always obligated to help someone, even if they didn't appreciate it. So were the teachings of Aurora and Borealis, the great goddess and god.
What would my family do?
...Vance slowly began to slip sub-conscious.
"Vance! Come here!" Vance's Grandpa's tone was stern but sweet.
"Yes, Grandpa?"
"I have a question to ask you."
"Yes?"
"Why do we live?"
"Huh? I mean uh... to um... uh..."
"Do you not know?"
Vance hung his head, knowing a lecture was coming.
"No, Grandpa."
"To serve others."
"What?"
His Grandpa's face was bright again.
"That's all, now go and play with your brother and enjoy childhood; don't bother this old man again to-day."

Inside the room, Vance¡¯s mind slipped away from him. Blood rushed to his head, and the sun grew dark.
Serve others.
Vance's entire eyes flushed a deep midnight blue and his skin grew pale.
Serve others.
A ring of pure energy spouted around his right arm, sending his sword on fire.
Serve others.
He rose to his feet and smashed the door to a million pieces.
I will.

Kasuka was an elf. Well, that was what he preferred to think, anyway. Kauska actually happened to be a half-elf, one of the most discriminated species in the entire world. The only thing Kasuka could imagine worse was to be half kokirain and half human, which didn't make much sense to him. Kokirians were the humble water people, but to humans, it was a sin to see one. Vice Versa for Kokirians as well. Not very many people knew why the humans and Kokirians hated each other¡¯s guts; perhaps they had had a war once.
Anyway, it was hard enough being in league with The Guardians of the Midnight Sun. They were kind and friendly enough, but something about them sent off Kasuka's 6th sense. They had sent him of on cell with a 15-year-old known as Lance and a similar aged girl known as Selena. Selena had been assigned a mission to capture an orphan known as Vincent Hakumei; he was as vital as the blood pump to the Midnight Sun. Selena had insisted that she bring Lance and Kasuka with her, for some sort of 'plot'. Anyway, now here he stood, pretending to capture Selena, to lure Vance in. The door had just broken open and Kasuka was about to congratulate himself on having enough patience not to run into the room and drag out Vance by the ankles when he saw Vance himself. The kids looked like he had been drug to hell and back again, and was quite pissed.
Now as the bloodthirsty thing charged him, Kauska had second thoughts.
No! What am I thinking!
Kauska dodged, but for the first time in his life he was too slow. The sword of fire spurted into his right shoulder. He felt some kind of liquid fire seep into his bones flesh, melting a destructive path.
"I'll... get you... bastard..."
He fell to the ground and looked up at Lance; who looked ready to kill, but felt like he was going to pass out. The boy Selena warned him about was a kokirain, one of the water people. Lance was an orakean, one of the fire people, which means if you can add two and two, he was dead meat in the first place, plus over that, this kid was a messed up demon ready to devour him. He was muttering something.
"Ser...ve... otheeeeerrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" He yelled, raising his sword.
"SERVE OTH-" He yelled, and then crumpled to a heap on the floor.
Selena was behind him with her hand raised.
"That definitely got out of hand."
"I'll say."
Selena squatted by Kauska. She gently placed a hand on his shoulder and Kasuka began to convulse.
"Be healed."
A new layer of flesh grew over the gaping hole in his skin; they also heard his bones and tissue mending back together. Kasuka's spasms slowed and Selena fell back to her knees.
"So I have to carry you all back, huh?" Lance said matter-of-factly
"Stop complaining. You were the one who suggested we recruit more people in for the Guardians of the Midnight Sun." Selena said weakly, "Just shut up." she passing out.
"Tell me shut up?...Well!...you!...AUGH!" Lance yelled, finally giving in.
