Most schools have a system of loud bells, which startle the students and teachers at regular intervals and remind them that time is passing even more slowly than it seems.
Very true...
I only had 5 classes today cuz I had 4 mods off. I also had easy homework!!!! *cheers* Yay for Mandi!!!!!!!! ^_^
Mandi can't think of anything to post today, so she will post a video from YouTube.
The expression
NOTE: I am extending my contest (to design a new outfit for Takara, my oc) by 2 more weeks. It will now end on the 17th. I really want some more entries, so... Please enter?
I just got back from the beach, and I'm tired... I had a 4-day weekend. We picked my brother up from school early on Friday so we could go. I was off anyway. I had fun!!! ^_^
OH OH OH!!!!!!!!!! I'M READING HARRY POTTER 7!!!!!!!!!! Most of it has shocked me utterly. I'm not done yet, though. Just finished reading chapter 33. (I feel bad for Snape.)
Also, note the note above.
I really wanna draw more stuff, but school is getting in the way of my free time!!! *pouts* The computer I have for school, tho, is awesome!!!! I tried flipping the screen over into tablet mode, and I can draw on Paint with the stylus!!!!! Is that cheating...?
Questions:
1. Have you read HP7? (In progress...)
2. Is using a stylus in Paint cheating...?
3. Do you have any of those fancy drawing/coloring programs for your computer? (No... wish I did, tho.)
A long time ago, there was no such thing as school, and children spent their days learning a trade, a phrase which here means "standing around doing tedious tasks under the instruction of a bossy adult." In time, however, people realized that the children
Ha ha!!! XD
You are now reading the typings of a high school freshman!!! (or freshwoman... my vollyball coach calls us freshpeople...) My first day of school was Tuesday. Sorry I didn't post till now, but I was being lazy. Anyways, it was fun!!! ^_^ I like my classes, and my AP Human Geography teacher is funny!!! He's very sarcastic. On the first day, my art teacher was 2 mods late (I'll explain what a mod is in a sec). But she's really nice! My Honors English teacher is really nice, too. My Honors Algebra II teacher is nice, too, but he goes through the lesson too fast for me to copy down the notes. My Honors Bio teacher is nice, and my Catholic Church teacher is really funny. My Spanish teacher is nice, too. They're all pretty nice, really.
There's this really cool program on my laptop for taking notes. It's called OneNote, and you can create seperate notebooks, with folders in them, and add pages to the folders. You can just click anywhere and start typing, or flip the screen over and use tablet mode and the stylus to write. It's really neat!!!
Oh yeah, a mod is like a mini-period. There are 15 mods per day (16 on Wednesdays, they're shorter), each lasting about 22 minutes. There are 4 minutes between each mod. Most classes are 2 mods long, and the morning classes are 3 mods. The order of classes changes each day, so it's not like, say, Bio is always 2 mods or math is always 3. There are some free mods during the day, and you can go to lunch (only after mods 1-5), go to the library, or go to the courtyard to hang out.
I had a really BORING 2 hour assembly today. It was about that book I had to read, End of the Spear. We had to sit in REALLY uncomfortable bleachers, and I was on the top row. On the wall there's this little pole going horizantally across the wall, and it was hurting my back. Why couldn't it be a few feet higher, where it wouldn't cause pain? T.T But anyway, we had to sit for 2 hours and listen to people talk about how the book affected them, or something. I was SOOOO tired, since I couldn't fall asleep last night, and I was drifting off during the whole thing. My eyes kept closing of their own accord, and I kept drooping down in my seat. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzz...
Questions (as Mandi types in her sleep):
1. Do you have any homework in school yet? Most of you have started, right? (Yes, I do. I bunch of, too.)
2. What is the longest you have ever been forced to sit in an uncomfortable seat? (Long, many-hour car rides...)
3. Are any of your teachers nice? (Most of 'em)
4. Are any of your teachers mean? (My AP Human Geography teacher is sort of... not really though. He's just sarcastic.)
Long quote, so it's in the message body.
"One day, when your mother is yelling at you, you might begin to hear a tiny voice in your head that will tell you that you are right and your mother is wrong. Over the years, this voice might get louder and louder, and you might find that you prefer listening to this voice instead of your mother's voice, particularly is she has been yelling at you ths whole time."
I had a volleyball mini-tournament-scrimmage-thing today. I did somewhat goodly. Yes, goodly is a word. In my world. Anyways, I had a couple good serves, and a few good passes. I'm still not really that good...
I went to Taco Bell for lunch, cuz a bunch of girls from volleyball were going, and I got the Grande Quesadilla. It was yuuuuummy. The commercial doesn't lie!!!!!!! 8D
I'm a little more than halfway through Maximum Ride: School's Out-- Forever. I just read a sad part, cuz **SPOILER ALERT!!! DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL IT SAYS SPOILER IS OVER IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT AND PLAN TO!!!!!!!!!!** Iggy just found hs parents, and left the flock!!!! T.T Everyone was crying!!!!!! But ya know, I wonder what his parents will do when they find out he's a mutant freak with wings...? (Okay, not mutant freak, "genetic hybrid." It sounds nicer.) **SPOILER OVER!!!!!!!!!!!**
I need to go and work on the rest of my summer homework... so, questions!!!
1. Do you have any bad habits? (Yes, procrastination. I'm working on it, tho!!! ^_^)
2. Name a few things that bug you in the world. (Don't even get me started!!! Okay, so I got me started, but anyway. First off, I hate how Americans have so much food and stuff and so many people are overweight, and then there are people starving in places like Africa!!!!!!! Also, I hate how men are payed about 20% more than women!!!!! It bugged me when my basketball teams would get terrible refs who don't see ANYTHING that goes on, but the boys get good refs!!!!! But nooooo, we get the terrible refs!!!!!!!! >:( I don't like it when people who are wrong absolutely REFUSE to admit it. I hate how America is the country with the largest percentage of its population in jail. I also hate discrimination, especially based on gender. Why do some guys think they're tougher or stronger or smarter?!?!?!? Girls can be JUST as tough or strong or smart!!!!!!!!!!!!! Erm... sorry... I got off a a rant... I'm sorry!!!!! I'm also sorry if you disagree with any of this... but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so, please don't flame me. I won't flame you if you disagree, I promise!!!!!)
3. What's your favorite intellectual/artistic/stuff-like-that thing about yourself? Ya know, a characteristic on the inside, not out? (Hmm... I love my good grades and my semi-good drawing ability!!! ^_^)
4. What's your favorite soundtrack song? (Hmm... I love No Good Deed from Wicked... and Gotta Go My Own Way from High School Musical 2... and Through Heaven's Eyes from The Prince of Egypt... and Defying Gravity from Wicked... and Mama I'm a Big Girl Now from Hairspray... yeah I have a lot... ^_^; Heh...)
5. If you had to pick one, just ONE, what would your favorite manga and/or anime be? Pick one for each category: manga, anime, video game. (Um... um... Fruits Basket for manga... Ouran High School Host Club for anime... and definately Kingdom Hearts for video game. I hate choosing... T.T)
6. What's your favorite food? (Umm... I think... Hot turkey with gravy on top bread with mashed potatos and a roll... okay that's a meal but still. -_-)
What time is it? Summertime!!! (I wish)
I'm currently watching High School Musical 2!!!!! I love the song What Time Is It. Not fair... as our summer vacation so sadly comes to a close, theirs is just beginning...
I got my school laptop today!!! ^_^ It's sooooo tiny, 'specially compared to my other one.
It is not very polite to interrupt a person, of course, but sometimes if the person is very unpleasant you can hardly stop yourself."
So true, so true... *nods*
Before I forget, Kyofanatic13, you (sorta) got the question right about my school uniform!!! The old uniforms are those colors. (Last year's seniors were the last one's to wear them, I think.) The new ones are black and white.
Soooo... I'm home now. No more beach 'til Labor Day weekend. And PC camp starts on Thursday... And then school starts the next Tuesday... T.T I don't wanna go to school!!!!!! T.T I'm SOOOOOO nervous about it. I'm going to high school, to a private school, a Catholic school (I'm not Catholic), where I only know a few people, and I'll have a super-busy schedule!!! T.T This is what I think my schedule will be:
-get up
-eat breakfast
-get dressed
-go to school
-go to volleyball/basketball
-go home
-do homework
-eat dinner
-do more homework
-go to bed
-start over
Yeah... so... I'm supposed to have a lot of homework, and I'm trying out for volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter. So, practice everyday after school. Not to mention that I want a job (I wanna work at Dairy Queen or Starbucks!!! X3), so that adds even MORE to my day... Oh well, I suppose I'll get used to it.
I made a birthday card for my grandmother for her birthday, which was 2 days ago. And I got Randy Lee Ashcraft (who she loves) to sign it!!!!!! ^_^ Yay!!!!! If you don't know who he is, (he's kinda local to Ocean City, I think) he's a singer for his band Randy Lee Ashcraft and the Saltwater Cowboys. They're awesome, I love their music!!! ^_^
Oh yeah, and for those of you entering my contest, remember it ends on the 31st. I might extend it if no one else enters, cuz only a couple people have. But in the meantime, if you're entering hurry up!!! ^_^
I'm sleepy, so on to the questions:
1. When does school start for you? (August 23 is PC camp, August 28 is school)
2. Are you a night person or a morning person? (Night person, definately!!!!)
3. Do you have any allergies? (Yep... I'm allergic to a ton of different grasses and pollen, plus dust and tobacco and a bunch of stuff I can't remember.)
4. Have you ever seen a live musical? (Yes, Les Miserables and Beauty and the Beast.)
Hey guys!!!!!!!! (sorry no quote this time...)
Hiya!!! I'm currently at an Internet cafe type place at the beach!!! ^_^ It's totally killed me being away from my computer so long... T.T And there's no quote cuz I don't have my book...
The beach today was completely COVERED in water!!! There was like a pool of water behind the lifeguard chair, and when it started to recede, it formed a huge rapid-like river!!! It was lotsa fun to ride in!!! ^_^
Just a short post today, and no questions cuz I can't think of any... sooooo... buh-byes!!! ^_^ Comments (1) |

Temper tantrums, however fun they may be to throw, rarely solve whatever problem is causing them.
Life is a turbulent journey fraught with confusion, heartbreak, and inconvenience.
These quotes will not help.
Lol, that's from the back of the book, 'cept it says "This book" 'stead of "These quotes" cuz you're not reading the book, you're reading the quotes I post, so... yeah.
I have to leave for the beach tomorrow at, like, 7. IN THE MORNING. I'll probably just sleep in my clothes... I've done that a couple times, the nights before some of my swim meets when I had to get up at 6:40 to get to the pool by 7... XD I'm gonna be gone for 12 days!!!!! T.T I don't wanna be gone that long!!!!! T.T Fortunately, there's an Internet cafe 12 blocks down the street that I can walk to...
I'm currently reading Dead Girls Don't Write Letters. I like it a lot, but the main character Sunny's parents are really... I dunno if there's a good word to describe it... but at one point in the book when the parents find out Jazz (older sister, presumed dead) is coming home, the dad says to the mom (who never feels like getting dressed and just wears pajamas and a robe all day), "You're going to be a mother again. Maybe you should dress the part." I was like, HELLO?!?!? WHAT HAPPENED TO SUNNY????? DID SHE DISAPPEAR OR SOMETHING???????? DOES SHE EXIST ANYMORE???? Geez... Anywho, it's a good book. I like it. It's also a really tiny book, only 126 pages, so if your looking for a quick read, I highly recommend it.
Sooo... not much else to say... on to the questions!!!!
1. Have you read Dead Girls Don't Write Letters? (In progress!!!)
2. With summer winding to a close, what was your favorite part of your summer so far? (Um... Florida!!! Disney and Universal are fun!!!)
3. Do you like reading? (Yup!!! ^_^)
4. Do you like chocolate? (OMG YES!!!!!!!!! 8D)
5. If you were trapped on a deserted jungle island, and could only bring 3 things (I say 3 cuz it's hard to choose just one... ^_^;), what would you bring? (Hmm... my laptop... my drawing stuff... and a machete. Machetes are the #1 jungle/forest survival tool!!! ^_^)
Bye-byes!!!! *huggles* Grab a cookie on the way out!!!! *puts out tray of fresh-baked [INSERT FAVE ANIME CHARACTER]-shaped [INSERT FAVE COOKIE TYPE] cookies* (Yes, I've done that before... ^_^;) Yum yum!!!! ^_^ Comments (3) |

"Arguing with somebody is never pleasant, but sometimes it is useful and necessary to do so."
I'm leaving for the beach again today... so... much... beaching... O_o In about a week or so I'm going to be at the beach for 12 days!!!! So I'll be away from my laptop for nearly 2 weeks... T.T Perhaps I could see if I could go to the internet cafe...? There's one waaaaaay up the street from our condo. I think.
I start PC camp on the 23rd. At the school I'm going to, we have to rent these laptops from them for our schoolwork and stuff, and we have to learn how to use them. I'm not sure when I start actual school...
I tried on my school uniform, and the shirt is GINORMOUS!!!!! O_o The skirt is a bit too long, but it's fine overall. I need to get a smaller shirt tho...
Oh yeah, I also got this really pretty bag to carry my laptop in, from this store called Tiger Lily. It's light green with plaid in pink, blue, purple, yellow, and white, and a (fake, of course) diamond button-clasp-thingy. It's preeeetty. ^_^
I had lotsa fun on Thursday with M-chan!!!!! ^_^ We went to Barnes & Noble, but they didn't have Fruits Basket 14!!!!! T.T And that's the one I need!!!!!!! T.T That happened last time I went to B&N, when I needed Furuba 9, I think. They didn't have it!!! T.T I did buy Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever tho. The perfect book for the approaching end of summer, huh...?
Anyways... on to the questions!!!
1. What does "Format line breaks as HTML? (Recommended.)" mean? Ya know, the little line of text beneath the box I am typing in at this very moment? Does anyone know? ((I don't know... That's why I'm asking... ^_^;))
2. Have you read Maximum Ride? ((Yup!!! ^_^))
3. Did you/will you have to wear a school uniform? ((I will...))
4. Do you need to buy any textbooks for the upcoming school year? ((Yes, unfortunately...))
5. Uh... How tall are you...? ((5'9.5"))
6. Oh!!! Anyone who can correctly guess the colors of my school uniform (2 colors) wins... uh... the honor of being right!!!! Yeah...
Ahh!!! My dad is coming to drag me to the car!!! Save meeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! *clings to laptop* NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Comments (2) |

"Babies pop into this world in the usual way, and from that moment the babies' families have to do their best to guess what might make the baby happy, like guessing the answer to a riddle. But many riddles are difficult to guess, which is why one sees so
