   RANT MODE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!
OK, I just want to rant and rant to anyone who is listening. If anyone has some advice or useful commentary, I'd be quite happy to have it.

First rant: Flamers and trolls at CF

I've finally been promoted to moderating the News and Current Events section of the Christianforums.com board.

Only problem is, I'm coming in as the firefighter. The forum is like one huge flamewar and trollfest, mostly egged on by four or five members who "brink": i.e. go as close to breaking the rules as they can without actually breaking them.

Also, members (except for one report-happy fellow who does it to annoy the moderators on reading and answering his worthless reports) seemingly WILL NOT use the "post report" button on rule-breaking posts. Instead, they flame, troll, or sp@m back, and turn a single offensive post into a massive conflagration.

I wish I could just ban the people who are inciting all this, but *inciting* fights somehow doesn't fall under the board's trolling rule, unless it is done with overtly offensive material, and the war debates go on and on. . . GRRRRR >.<

I think I'll be happy to go offline, watch Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, and devour that entire box of chocolates I bought at the after-Christmas sale yesterday, or do some more Trigun RP with my friend. Looking at five bishounen I like in what I've heard to be one of the best animes, and gobbling chocolates, or seeing what crazy/silly/serious/whatever situation I can get those characters into just might give me a perspective better than the one I get from grating my teeth and slamming my fist into the desk.

Rant 2: Wolfwood and Vash are FRIENDS! Knives and Legato are lovers!

I had to get that one out of my system LOL. After seeing that the latest newbie fanfiction writer on ff.net is YET ANOTHER Wolf/Vash fan, I'm about ready to scream.

Seriously, there is much more to say that Knives and Legato are lovers than Wolfwood and Vash-yet the latter pairing, which is so often so OOC it makes you want to retch, is *THE* Trigun yaoi pairing, seconded by Vash/Knives, which is also by its very nature when written mutually OOC and quite emetic.

I mean, I've heard the defense for it being "Well, Wolfwood is bi if not gay, he did have that canon relationship with Midvalley in the manga" My answer to that: SO WHAT???

To say that just because Wolfwood has an interest in the same gender, he must necessarily be doing the horizontal tango with Vash, is like saying that every friend a gay or bi person has is "potential relationship material."

Also, at least in the anime, Vash is *obviously* heterosexual, or at least defined as such by the 6th episode "Lost July." Seriously, he's chasing after Elizabeth, obviously sexually attracted to her, and even says in one scene of that episode that he doesn't sleep with men.

Hence, the *only* way Wolf/Vash would POSSIBLY work is nonconsensual with Wolfwood taking advantage, and I think they're too good of friends for that. ^^

I finally found my favorite Milly/Meryl story again! ^^

After searching, I finally found it again. If you want to see an example of well-written M/M shoujo ai that should make Vashra Blood-Reeper weep in shame for how she has mangled the pairing-go here.

   Almost Forgotten Fanfic Of The Week
I have decided to post a Trigun fanfic that is a diamond in the rough of Mary Sues, OOC fics, and terrible writing-yet which has drifted to the back of the archives because it is not being updated (either because the author isn't updating or it's a one-shot)

I'm starting out posting one a week to Otaku Life here, but soon enough, I will have a list of the best IMHO Trigun fanfics around posted to my site here. Of course, the contest winner will get priority when the judges decide to close the contest and judge the fics entered, but I'm posting my personal favorites too.

This week's pick is one of the best-written and most inventive Trigun humor fanfics at fanfiction.net, written by Serendipity1. It is called "The Problem With Knives."
