Just a little something I've noticed. . .
Originality seems to be DOA at fanfiction.net's Trigun section lately.
By that, I mean almost every new, non-updated fic posted is either a Mary Sue or somehow W/V yaoi.
I hate to tell the authors of these fics, but they're really beating a dead horse (or should I say thomas ~.^) because I have actually gone through the 64 or so pages of the database for that fandom.
There are at least 500 or more Mary Sues there, and upwards of 100 W/V shounen ai/yaoi stories. Compare that to the stats for Legato/Meryl fics (2, excluding outright PWP lemons), Vash/Milly fics (2, one of which is more Wolfwood shounen ai and the other is a drabble) and a few others that are equally unpopular.
Point is, hardly anyone writes anything that no one else has written, explores new territory. . .or at least that's how it looks.

Idiot. . .
I'm just a little annoyed right now. Irresponsible and stupid people make me want to scream. Enough said.

Blah though, still writer's block on one thing
I guess "The Wind Blows Toward The Future"'s repost just isn't meant to be. After hours of attempting to rework it, after much frustration, I still have no idea for that fanfic beyond the two chapters I have already written.
If anyone would like to work on this story (and they can actually write well) I'd be willing to give them the idea and even the first two chapters and let that writer take it from there. It's such an idea that I want to see, I just can't make it work.

My first Cowboy Bebop fanfic!
All right, so it's a Trigun crossover, nevertheless I now write for two fandoms.
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1522655 Check it out here, and tell me what you think: any advice on improving it will be considered.
I'm a newbie writer to Bebopverse fanfiction, as all of my previous works have been set in Trigun (which I am MUCH more familiar with, I've not even seen all of Bebop once yet *looks at episodes after "Cowboy Funk" still on tape waiting to be watched* and my number one site for Bebop info crashed. . .so help is appreciated.)

Ah well. . .hopefully they will come back someday
http://rfblues.aaanime.net/ is now offline. This was one of my favorite Cowboy Bebop sites (screenshots, and the music lyrics) but for some reason this site is now no longer in existence.
There goes two Bebop/Trigun crossover songfics I was going to write into the recycle bin-because I didn't save the lyrics onto anything, like I did with one other lyrics page from the site.
^sigh^ It was a good site.

Working on new fanfic myself
Someone gave me some good reviews, and I've overcome my writer's block for now.
So not only am I going to be updating "Mushroom Clouds" and "The Second Journey" soon, I'm going to rewrite and repost an old story that I took down because I couldn't think of how to write it ("The Wind Blows Toward The Future").
Also, in the next week, I will be posting my first-ever fanfic outside the Trigun section, although it's a crossover. It will be an alternate universe Cowboy Bebop fanfic with one character crossover from Trigun. . .and not the character you'd probably expect.

In reply to Maladjusted's comment on my post on "spamfics"
I so feel your pain. . .
The situation in the Trigun section is kind of different, better some days, worse others. There are plenty of wonderful writers (Shandrial, Thunk, Chrystalline, Amaya3, Jaina-although most of her stuff is lemons, "Misconception" is really good so far-, for L/K yaoi Madmax2, Annie-chan, and Space-Weazel-although her being only 13 and writing something utterly raw like "Slave" highly disturbs me), and I love to see it when they update or publish a new fic.
All of these authors were newbies at one time or another, and I like to see inventive newbie authors whether serious or humorous (for humor, "The Trouble With Knives" by a newbie author, Serendipity1,is a riot). Note inventive newbie authors though.
Sadly, sometimes the less inventive and more spammy newbies almost convince me that writing good (or even mediocre but somehow interesting) fanfic is a lost art.
By that I mean fics with spelling SO atrocious that they're funny although they're not intended as humor. I've seen L337, misspelled character names(i.e. "Marrel" for "Meryl," "Wolf Wood" for "Wolfwood"), "Spellchecked" documents where correctly spelled words are used incorrectly, (i.e. "worms" for "works"), and capitalization errors galore at the least.
Also, while I'm ranting, the pairings in so much newbie work in the are SO unoriginal it makes me want to scream. By that I mean they're almost to a one either VashxMeryl, Vash/Wolfwood, or some random bishounenxa Mary Sue. Gaaak. I mean (and I don't mean this as any kind of an insult because I love VashxMeryl, although I can't stand the Wolfwood pairing), can't anyone write some WolfwoodxMilly, Legato/Knives, MillyxVash, Legato/Midvalley, or anything else that hasn't been done better 100 times before?
As one last point of my rant, kind of connected to that one, I wish Mary Sue authors were forced to tag their works as such. The "original character" note in summaries is helpful (if you refuse to read all fanfics with that note), but like an e-mail spam filter, it sometimes lets some spam through (i.e. people who don't label their fics or pairings as OCs) and sometimes catches some good stuff (like once in a thousand times, someone can write an OC that isn't a Mary Sue, keep the OC as a secondary or minor character, and actually make the fic a good story).
Anyway though, I wasted an hour the day before yesterday on a 33 chapter Mary Sue that was labeled in a way to make it look like it wasn't necessarily one. Grr.
Point is, I still hold out hope for fanfiction.net's Trigun section (it IS the best on the Internet, at least it's not as bad as MediaMiner or a few other sites I can think about) but I really wish some people would think before they write and post.

Trolls
Some trolls came to my other favorite messageboard tonight, and one of them was from otakuboards, the user "SS5Gogeta."
I respect your right to disagreement or whatever, but trolling a board is just mean no matter what way you look at it. Please don't do it in the future, all right?
