Friction

Trying soooooooooo hard to keep calm, which is sooooooooo hard. I absolutely hate having this panic/anxiety .... disease. Because that's what it is. A disease. It feels like the world decided to pounce on me all at once and the world is kinda big and I'm not so big. So imagine the outcome of that. Really trying not to shut down completely but right now I'm so very sad, dissapointed, upset etc. Stoopid life acting all innocent only to cut me down just as I think everything's sorting itself out. Maybe I'm keeping my expectations too high? I should just settle for being jerked around and be happy about the attention. Hah. Whatever.

I really need to play tennis. But first I must meet up with people, have conversations that I don't want to and get on with life. As always/usual. Commentary comment and such to follow once all the nasty stuff is out of the way. Love.

*returns the following day to comment on comments from last post*

Becksy: Everyone's been positive about KH, at least the ones I've come across. My sister actually bought it for me but I never ended up playing it, heh. Mebbe I'll claim it back and give it a go one day.

Sarah: Hugh Grant is really good in "2 week's notice" and it, along with "About a boy" is what sold me on him. Hmmm, maybe I should rent some of his movies and re-evaluate my opinion on those....

It's really nice to get to the gym (one you get there, that is) so I hope you can find a way there. Not that you're not gorgeous as it is.

Shimmy-Loo: *notes* The cover for that game is appealing, I must say. It might just be something for me. Thanks for the tip. And I simply must get Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. It's the right thing to do.

Evil: No, no, no. You've got it wrong. I'm the one who's not worthy. Nyah-nyah *hugs* I'd probably have a difficult time playing tennis with someone so radiant as yourself.

Samie: Thanks liking the story. I'm curious, do you like badminton? If it weren't for the fact that it's so dependant on the wind conditions outside, I'd want to play it. How about you?

   Shake ya ass

"About a boy" is a sweet movie *grins* Funny how much Hugh Grant has grown on me lately. I used to not be fond of him at all, haha.

Annie is up in LSquare! \|/007453! ....

I need some work on my leet speech >.>

My sisters and I have officially broken in our tennis raquets! A lot of the time was spent doubled over with laughter but for a while there we got the ball to go back and forth :o

I (apparently) strike too hard, according to the others, but to be fair the wind was blowing my way. Although I do tend to hit things with zest >_>

It was majorly fun and they both wanted to play more! Another day, of course XD Though we'll need to get more professional balls because the ones I bought didn't have enough bounce in them. It made playing a bit more difficult for us beginners, hehe.

After we were done (and had played an awesome board game) I meant to take the bus back into town, where mom's bike was parked (dad took mine earlier in the day), but accepted Eleine's offer to drive me. Once they'd dropped me off and were about to turn a corner ..... it dawned on me that I'd emptied my pockets in their apartment. Meaning I had no means of communication or transportation.

Hence my slightly sore legs walked me home where a spare key could be fished out, promptly walked back to the bike and rode home with it. Add an earlier ride in heavy winds, plus the tennis playing, I was more than well exercised ^_^;;;

Forgetting the keys and cell phone annoyed me but in the end everything worked out, so smiley faces all around :)

My muscles didn't really start to feel sore until yesterday (we played Saturday evening), feeling slightly more dull today, which is weird. Didn't stop me from going to the gym to work out, though :D

The winds have picked up tremendously these past couple of days, which made for a gruelling bike ride to the gym. Good thing there were machines to take out my frustration on, mwuahahaha. Thanks to the trainer who went through the ones I needed to use I'm actually getting a proper work out. Last time at a gym (several years ago) it was quite the opposite, leading me to quit shortly after beginning.

I feel so much lighter afterwards and pleasently worn out. Or rather: relaxed, calm, at peace, satisfied. Good feelings _^_

Kinda like how my two weeks worth of holiday make me feel XD!!!

Slick *2: "Just one night, give me just one night", haha. Hrm >_>;;;
Don't worry, lad. You'll soon be ready for the world. The question is, is the world ready for you?! :O

Ah, thanks for clearing up the controller issue for me. It sounded weird to use that word but apparently it's correct! *giggles* The Brits are good for and at many-a-things, just like the Canadians ~_^

John: I bet I suck more! Though it doesn't matter if you're good or not, the main point is how much fun you're having :3

Evil: XD You're aces at soccer, mah lady, that's plenty enough. And you're one fine cosplayer, writer, human being! It's an honor to be in such fine company as yours :3

MC: *laughs* It comes by many names, that "controller".... and for some reasons it sounded so Japanese when I said it quietly in my mind XD;;;;

Badminton makes you feel like some kind of bird with a very curved neck, since you're forced to look up most of the time *_* Tennis has an advantage there, for sure.

Gwar at these colds that are flying around! *shakes angry fist* We need to go somewhere warm where boys will meet our every demand and whim. I'm sure that'd make us feel better :p

Shimmy-Loo: Awwww it's alright, we all know you're teh 1337 in the field of gaming. And tennis.

We so need to meet one day and play tennis, Scrabble and go bowling! :D

Sarah: You'd make an excellent judge/referee, methinks ~_^ Love you too and I hope the colour is ok for you :-*

Becky: Man, I tell you, I've been drinking fluids like a camel with diabetes O.o Maybe that helped with getting better?

Still gotta get a few games to the Gamecube, starting with Mario Kart Dubble Dash. Dunno what else to go for, aside from the Mario franchise. Any suggestions? :3

   Love is all around me

*shares it abundantly*

Thanks everyone for being so generous with your love and know that it goes right back atcha'll ;3

Cold status: Getting better. Going into work tomorrow and hopefully the next 2 days. Then follows 2 weeks of holiday!

Sudden impulses: Wanna buy tennis raquets for me and one for my sisters. During a quick bbq-evening Saturday the guys broke out some raquets, engaging in a friendly game. Wearing a skirt prevented me from joining the fun but seeing as the court is pretty much outside the sisters' apartment, it'd be a grand thing to take the sport up as a means of excercise :o

Out of the blue happenings: I've bought a Gamecube on auction. It came at a good price so now it's only a matter of getting a good game (Mario Kart DD to begin with) and 2 more .... thingies you play with. Do you call them joysticks in English? Directly translated from Swedish they're called 'hand controlles'. Ploof.

Wow, you could never tell I'm actually a girl who plays (and enjoys!) videogames from time to time with that question =.=

Come now, what is a simple bite on the buttocks amongst friends? Here, give me a nibble.

So. The getting better phase didn't last long. I thought I wasn't sick anymore, which was true. I was getting sicker. Chocolate.

Sore aching throat, fever and an asploading head. I laughed to the point of tearing up at a roll of cookies that had the brand name/label "Cookies". That's how bad it is. Mimmi = very out of it. Skittles.

I worked yesterday, in the vain hopes my cold wasn't getting worse, but zeh cold was of a different opinion and didn't hesitate to inform me of it. Ice-cream.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on mah Literati-litterature. It's always wonderful to spread and share the fun around. Smoochies.

   Not counting any chickens, yet

John: You might be right on the money *sneaky sneaky*

Becky: I will! With panache!

Samie: Sucky suckage =( Hopefully you're not sick and won't be for a long while =)

Shimmy-Loo: Thanks *hugs* What we wouldn't give for more low-key colds, eh? lol

Shabam: *giggles and hugs* You're a lovely nurse ;3

Slick: Muchos gracias for sending the world! It brought some inspiration along =D

Evil: *super snog*

HC: XD That totally made me laugh, which is hard to accomplish when I'm sick! *hugs*

Tori: Love ya too, Brawlin' Barbie _^_

A long time ago I played a game of Literati. The first two words put down were Swishy and Rogues. My brain overflowed with inspiration, naturally, at the sight of this. All (or at least most of) the words were noted down to be inserted in a mini-short story. Almost 2 pages got written shortly after the game ended but it wasn't until today that I polished it up slightly.

( Feel free to advice me how to grammatically write conversations because I honestly have no clue how to ^_^;;; Any other suggestion is welcomed, also. )

It's nothing spectacular, just something that came out of amusement. The Literati words are bolded. I dedicate this to John =)

The Impudence!

A pirate band of swishy rouges, The Swoosh Triad, under the command of Ed Dweeb had just captured their no1 nemesis after a gruelling fight. Captain Dweeb was giving said nemesis a steely glare (the one he’d don when he was crosser than cross). Some said that the glare could scorch the very soul of the damned.

“Arrr” he finally growled through gritted teeth “Tis a shame you’re swearing to be mah mortal combattant, elst you could’ve been a mighty fine asset to this here crew”

Snickers were heard here and there in the gathered group but were soon silenced at the barks from their captive who scanned them with sharp eyes.

“Ay, laugh all ye want but this here asset is connected to a pair of spangly knuckles that’ll dish out a good whooping when I get my hands on ya and that’s all some of ya’lls’ asses will get for a good two weeks, mark mah words!”

The complacent tone seething with fury sent Dweeb roaring with laughter that nearly toppled him over. Once he regained his posture again he bent down to ruffle the angered woman’s curly raven hair. It sure was hard to stay mad at her when you were met with a face contorted to the indignant rage of a 3-year old, with a pout to match.

“Now, now mah lovely darling Grace. How’s about we start over an’ try to get on a good heel with each other?”

She snorted and stuck her nose in the air defiantly to further drive home the point of her outrage.

The two of them had fought many battles in the 8 years she’d been the chef of his band and she only got more steadfast in her stubbornness with each year. Unlike other days, this morning’s display didn’t amuse Dweeb, his menacing frown slowly returning. A famined crew would be tricky to command, not to mention they’d be useless in an eventual battle with rivalling bands or the Sea Dogs. Clearly they’d get nowhere with the gloves on.

“I do not take abuse on one’s own team lightly so this here mess better be sorted out, lest I dangle ye over the water an’ have the sharks teach you some table manner” he growled.

“Eh?! I don’t see why I’m the one in the wrong here, especially since my manners ain’t got nothing on that pathetic brute Slawb! Why’s it me getting the shouting at?”

“You shoved broccoli stems up his nose an’ stuffed his mouth with mouldy peas!”

“Aye, and lemme tell ya he looked a whole sight better when that ghastly excuse for a moustache couldn’t be seen an’ it sure was a blessing to see peas comin’ out of his mouth an’ not that holy tripe he always spew in my galley. I say he should apologise for making me do it an’ the rest of the crew should thank me for putting him in his place!”

She nodded resolutely before resuming her scans of the crewmembers, taking careful note of those who dared give her lip. Dweeb sighed half-hearted while rubbing his beard, rather tired of wasting precious time on trivial matters. After some thinking

“Arrr, listen to me missy. The crew’s nigh on starving so what’re you sayin’ it’ll take to get that sunshine smile beaming again an’ the stove cookin’?”

Grace peered at him with one eye. Everyone held their breath; the Captain being so gratuitous with unruly subordinates was unheard of before now. Giving such leeway to that woman sure didn’t bode well.

“I want that scum to beg real purdy for my forgiveness” she jerked her head in Slawb’s direction “and all them others should praise me for gracing a rotten crew with my mere presence as it blesses them more than Heaven could ever hope to.” A smug grin curled over her lips when she finished. The captain nodded absentmindedly as wet a finger and held it up to the wind.

“Slawb, you heard her.”

“I beg your pardon?!” Slawb brawled.

“There you go, Miss Grace” Dweeb quickly intercepted before any further protesting was issued and turned to his men “Now all’yall say ‘Thank you’ to Grace for providin’ us with our daily dose of God’s wrath towards all that is unholy and good on the count of three. 1,2,3 --“

“Thank you”, they all murmured unenthusiastically. Grace’s jaw dropped, too dumbstruck to begin objecting at what she thought was yet another grave injustice being done to her.

“Ah, that’s that done. Repentance an’ gratitude as per requested by one Miss Grace Hannel. High time to scurvy to your posts, men, I feel the wind turning to our favour. Oh, an’ somebody release the lasso from our lurvely chef. I’m sure it can be of better use than to restrain her.”

The Captain turned on his heel and swaggered nonchalantly back to his quarters through the scattering crowd, stroking his beard satisfactory. While he was pleased with the outcome it was clear that some more permanent action had to be taken. Farces like this had no place on his ship. Life on sea was already rough; he didn’t want to play nanny and mediator in Grace’s continual and nonsensical squabbles. If given the choice between two evils, he’d much rather play a game of boule with the Navy Commander’s wife.

I am feeling so sick it's depressing.

It started the day before yesterday with a killer headache as I went to bed. My reason for not taking an aspirin? I was so tired I couldn't get up.

Yesterday was dragging on and by the time I got home it was pretty apparent that it wasn't just the heat that had drained me. It honestly felt like my body was giving up on me, slowly coming to a halt. Shallow breathing and diminishing awareness of the surroundings; all the sickly jazz.

Today is a tiny bit better but I'm still feeling totally out of the loops. If anything, I feel loopy. Why must my colds wipe me out in one fell swoop like this? *whine*

Love you all.

Edit 23/6-06

MC: It's good to know there are more who [ab]use the language to its fullest :D .... Mmmm, ice-cream *_*

Evil: I think they need more cheering, so they'll do better >.> "HEADPOD IPHONES" XD!!! Classic.

Becky: :3 Sweden is lucky to have such lovely lasses' support! Especially since we do it sober XP

Liam: >___> Is there a support group I can join? *snuggles*

Shimmy-Loo: Duuuuude, you'd rock my boat over with your supreme bowling prowess *bows* But it'd be a total blast to have a go at it ^_^

It's bed time for Gonzo

Becky: On my way home I crossed paths with the guy and thanked him for making the 3 days bearable XD

We should organize a whole party for a con and storm/raid it *rubs hands* We wouldn't need to work out ever again, due to all the laughing and running around ;p

And yes, the hotel is lucky to have me *ego bloats* XP

John: Ok, instead of promising to do it ... I'll just let you know when it's done XD That way there won't be any casualties >_>

Sean: Hear hear! Hotel experience is something you can take anywhere so I'm really happy they're being so generous to me. Yeah, it's free labour but hopefully a cute one, too I'm the one who benefits the most, in the end :P

Evil: Sisters are good for tormenting! =D *snuffles*

Slick: ---- *pushed the Shift key 5 times and got a funny prompt* ... whoops --- Duuuuuuude, there's be nothing left of you XD You'd be totally glomped to bits, haha. But it's definitely a good idea. One I shall keep close in mind *hugs*

You deserve a medal for your work at the Super(man)store, especially since you're forced to deal with the aftermath of ze kidz >_< It's times like that you really want to put on your Michael Moore outfit and go to town with their parents >__>

Shimmy-Loo: BOWLING! We'd have a great time bowling, if that were to ever happen, since you'd laugh your ass off at me being a ditzy failure =D Keep me posted with your progess, aight?

And yes, it amused me to see the ladies trying to steer everything in a direction of their own design. Most of my teachers haven't been like that, or maybe I was never one to engage enough, so one the shock died down I just shrugged it off. It's a good thing I know there are intelligent people out there who balance things out *winks*

Badness: I'm one sexy SWEATY beast, oh yeah ;-* You'd totally outrock my hawtness if you were to work here, though. Oh-la-la!

Start your own business! There'd be no end to the possibilities of what you could achieve! And then you could give all the employers a good kick in the nad (or send Des to do it for you) making them regret they migrated their brains down there =D

There's really little point to go to bed early when Sweden is playing England (soccer) tonight, so it's a good thing I got a nap in earlier =D

Even though the sun didn't come out much today (it even rained some) it was still very hot and humid. The fabric in the sweats (sort of) I've been wearing is too dense for this kind of work but unfortunately they won't get any new uniforms until 2 weeks and seeing as that's when I start Reception duty *shrugs* They did find me a shirt that was somewhat looser fitted but --- *stops to listen to the random cries of fanatic soccer fans* --- it probably wouldn't matter what I wear as long as this sticky heat continues.

It wouldn't be so bad if I were on Breakfast duty, because there's a lot of draft going from and to the kitchen. Plus the cool fridge that you can take a breather in. Oh, how I miss it *_*

Fun was had shortly after my last post, hehe. The best thing about playing Bubble Bobble with my younger sister is the many levels of fun we get out of it. Our focus, earlier, has been to finish the game and surviving the worlds that had earned our disliking (57). Pretty straightforward approach.

But now we are way more relaxed and always get drunk on the hyperness that ensues at some point, resulting in much terrorizing of the neighbourhood with laughter and merryment. This state of chemical intoxiation has a rather amusing side effect (aside from feeling very chipper) that involve us saying things totally out of character. Usually it's drawn from misunderstanding what the other has said, for example:

Sister - "My balls are sweaty!"

What she really said was "My palms are sweaty!". A great example of how much more fun you'll have when hyped up! But let's not stop at the meager number 1. Here's one from my corner:

Mimmi - "Wheeeeee! Mutton Bashing!!"

Obviously I enjoy bashing muttons almost as much as smashing buttons. It took us quite a while to recover from that one and my sister demanded I write it down to save for posterity, haha. This particular hilarious mistake is derived from our fondness of switching the first letter in the first word with the same in the latter word.

(You gotta be careful which words/phrases you tamper with, though, because it can be mighty hard to keep a straight face if the original comes up in a conversation with someone not initiated. Especially if it's not appropriate >.>)

So you can imagine I had loads of fun that night, to the extreme of laughing whenever my poor little Bob died. And we also managed to get my sister's Bub to 10 lives! Which is equivalent to an A in the game. Our next goal is to see what comes after. The immediate guess would be B. Any takers?

=.=

Shabam: *snuggles along in front of a documentary about Greenland* Heat is alright in small doses but it hasn't been this hot in years so it caught me off guard ¬¬

Becky: Aaaaaaah, what a lovely breeze _^_ And it's always a pleasure to read what you've written, I can't say that enough!

Azure: Canada, the land with pretty cool weather. In more than one way *lame joke*

John: ..... Waffles O_O You're contagious, in so many different forms/ways! Sorry for not working much on stuff that you wanted me to *guilty pout*

MC: It's the heat! That's why we miss our shows or forget to record them! Yes. Evil is the heat >__>

Evil Muffin: I don't mind the sun at all, especially since I've got a serious lack of ... vitamin B? Anyway. The heat is mostly horible in the evening when you can't relax because the air is all stuffy -.-

Playing beach volleyball would be so cool right now .....

=.=

Yeah, the 3-day course on Enviroment is over and not a second too early! Gaaaawwwwwrrrrbbbllleeee. That was more horrible than a lot of horrible things.
I took more notes on the two different teachers, and their quirks/what I thought of them, than I did about the subject at hand XD;;;

Sure we learned interesting stuff. It's just that it was in bad conditions with not so stellar educators. The only relief came in the appearance of a guy who questioned them/played the age old game of Devil's advocate and got under the more annoying teachers' skin. At first I didn't like him too much, though he proved that first glance can be slightly inaccurate *shrugs*

The two teachers both insisted we have debates/discussions but nearly backflicked when we didn't meet their expectations of what the correct answers/ideas [in their mind] should be. Double Eh. We stood our ground, though :D

-----

Cleaning duty at the hotel isn't as much fun as Breakfast duty but it does serve to broaden my horizon when it comes to the Hotel industry, which is never wrong. Another 3 weeks of that and then it'll be 4 weeks of Reception duty, if I've understood things correctly.

As interesting/fun it is to learn, I'd rather have a secured job. Be it there or somewhere else. It's work that I'm doing and not a hobby so obviously I want it to lead somewhere. Not just be a means to make time go by.

-----

Being miffed about the Anime Expo thing falling through is starting to get old so I'm trying to shrug that off. I've gotten it down to a pout and a frown now, yarr. Man.
Much bitterness has been slowly worked away, leaving me slightly surprised at the amount there from to start with. No wonder I couldn't be happy.

I'm gonna try to work out some weekend plans with the younger sister and possibly other people around here. That social bug is a mighty clingy thing, just like me!

Sunstroke

Breakfast >>>>>> Cleaning

It's too hawt to exist right now, let alone clean *_*;;;

AJeh: Wheee, thanks for noting that ^_^ And I must point out that your beard is really cool.

MC: Nooooo, don't feel icky *hoses you down* Condescending teachers can evoke such feelings, urgh.

We should get TiVo or something!

Becky: Let there be more purple! And more posing *applauds* You really make my days more cheerful, especially with chapters of IDO, mweheheeheeeee :3

*cuddles and sneaks off to read*

Badness is up in Literati Square! =D

"On a conscious level, you might already be aware that something is troubling you, or eating up a lot of time when it comes to your friendships. But it's also possible that thoughts and feelings about your relationships have been preoccupying your subconscious mind — leaving you with nothing more than a general sense that things just don't feel 100% right in your life though you can't quite figure out why.

You may feel dissatisfied with your current circle of friends or conflicted about one of your closer friendships. Perhaps you long for more fulfilling connections, or wish that you found your friendships less draining, or more balanced. Or maybe you're so frustrated with your situation that you avoid the topic all together.

Whichever feelings hold true, your test results indicate that right now, your subconscious mind is working overtime to resolve the issues confronting you in this area of your life — even if you don't feel aware of it.
"

From a test I just took. It's amusing and sad at the same time. Not to say telling. Or at least affirming.

Evil: I'm not cool enough to hang with the MSN crowd *whimpers with inferiority* >_> But one day I shall haunt visit you all =D

Shabam: And what you do is more than enough *hugs while sending love back* The MSN crowd sure is awesome =)

MC: ;_; They were so tricksy putting that at the end! More films should have something after the credits, rawr. *will look for you next time on AIM*

AJeh: Sleep is one of the bestest cures there are. That and chocolate :3

John: Mooooooooore! I want moooooore ;_;

Becky: *smiles* What colour do you want for your word? _^_

Asuki: Yes! That we should. Imagine a big cuddle fest. Ah. The mere thought makes me pine ._.

I'm all done in the Breakfast section (at the hotel) now. Next week will be the start of hanging with the Cleaning Crew. They're all a bunch of mad hatters, though, so it won't be much of a difference aside from the tasks. Sadly I missed the last day on Friday because of an offer to do a 3-day course on enviroment. It sounded like a nice break from working, even if I didn't get what it entailed ^^;

A group of 7 or 8 of us got cramped into a small room with a woman who refused to have the AC going because it made noise and blew air on her ....... -.-;;;; It should be noted that this room is within a large factory complex. There are constant sounds from machines so her explanation was just daft. And naff. So at times we all nearly passed out from lack of oxygen, which is almost hilarious since we were going on about the subject enviroment and how it affects us/we affect it O.o;;;

The woman is a biology teacher, has random bad hearing (sometimes we had to repeat what we said 3 times because she refused to get that SHE misunderstood US and not the other way around!) is alright but not too approachable on a person-to- person basis. Basically she is the stereotypical teacher who draws a very finite line between herself and the people she's working with.

In the group were also some boys who were very obstinate. More than often it was annoying but also a welcome change that challenged the teacher, hehe. All in all: ok diversion. For the remaining two days (Thursday & Friday) we really need a bigger room or force her to accept the powers of the AC! -.-

-----

Dad is still on the mend. We had a scare last week where he got dizzy spells. Turned out he was just suffering from the same cold as mom and I. His state of health frustrates him a lot, especially since we're trying to get the house off planning grounds. Right now I take things as they are. If the house is built, then I'll be thrilled. Otherwise we should be ok anyway.

(The plans drawn for it is yummy, though.)

----

Yesterday evening, coming home from watching X-3 again, my head (along with shoulders and neck) was hurting. Partly due to fatigue but also because of withdrawal. Interestingly enough my tactile addiction can make me feel ill if not soothed with regular injections of human connection. Stoopid chemicals. I dislike my own body having such power of me, har har. Ah well. Guano.

...... And I just missed "Straight or Gay"! Gwar!!! Yay for inane tv-shows. Too bad I have an inate ability to miss most of them. Especially since they bring me much needed apathetic relief *dramatic pose*
