Mmmmmmm, snooooooooooze

Moroseness from the cold, as well as from working out beyond my capacity and then scrubbing myself clean like a squirrel on speed, has sort of impeeded my ability to correlate any kind of intelligent thought that's been properly scrutinized by authorities of decency.

"So what's new?" you say!

"Aha!" says I!

And then we all have brunch in Alice's garden pool.

(I didn't use the dictionary once when writing that, haha. *dreads typo errors*)

---

It's nice when male friends (and by all means female friends!) are pitying on you and pretend-flirts as a means to cheer you up. 'Cause everyone wants to be wanted every now and then, ya know? But right now it'd be sooooo nice to have someone say "omzg, dude :o like, wtf mate, I totally wantz you yesterday!!111!½" and actually mean it. In a slightly more sophisticated way, naturally. But I'll get by [with a little help from my friends]. As always *nod*

Liam: *grins and shakes her head* It's good to see you, my sweet darling boy toy. And I'll take that immune system of yours! *runs away to Africa and hides*

Kat: =^_^= If I'm hot, then you're scorching ~_^

Shany: Well, my bed is made and big enough for two =) *snatches you and snuggles*

Evil: *giggles* Thank you, tootsie ;D

P-chansacutie: Ooooouch, that's a lot of hours. How many days a week do you do, if you don't mind me asking? Thankies for the well wishes :)

John: Excellent guide lines *notes them down*

DDG: Haha, funny how some things work for some people and totally doesn't for others ^_^ *giggles and hugs*

Pyro: We loves the price tags, that we do *poses with her tag-thingy* Oooo, help me nibble on the week? *passes along a slice*

Azure: Now I know how you felt when talking to me, heh. Some day (when I'm feeling fit for it) I shall have to do a thinker-post on that subject. For it is interesting, as I've noticed from the comments *nods*

I wonder just how many days I can last this week, considering how utterly drained my whole system is after working 5 hours and 15 minutes. Having fairly monotonous, continous, tasks today helped the hours go by. It sure didn't help in ridding this cold, though. Somebody whisk me off to bed and restrain me there .... *pauses* .... Mmmm *sighs*

Oh me, oh life

Liam: That's right, you've got that phone as well! We're totally BFF now *winks* Can't wait for you to get off that backside and get your groove on :)

Sarah: Eeeeee, life is not the same without a big dose of Sarah on the internet. You're missed when you're gone *blows a kiss*

Evil: I so suck at commenting on your page, even though I totally adore your entries *shamed* Still, admiration from afar can be quite adorable.. Unless you take it to extremes, which I naturally don't >>;;;

Slick: I shall forever and ever be grateful to you for hooking me up with that wonderful live action series! Arrr, must sneak it back from my younger sister *plots*

Shinmaru: It made my day when you appeared *girly giggling* Don't you go easy on me next time! Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'll play like one ;p

John: Get it working! Fast! Talking to you was brilliant and I gather playing Literati with you shall be much more of the same. *runs off to bribe some boards in preparation* ¬¬

I want the soundtrack to "K-Pax". Very badly.

Stuffing myself with vitamins, drinking freshly squeezed oranges and resting, seems to be helping a tiny bit. Maybe I'll reorganize the hours at work a bit to make sure I don't overdo it. As nice it is to make yourself irreplacable, it's always nicer to feel healthy ^_^;

Playing the Swedish version of Scrabble has rekindled my love for my own language, oddly enough. In the beginning it felt like a poor substitute for Literati but now I jump at the chance for a game or two with my sister. She's being too kind to me when it comes to that, hehe.

Dad is a member of a club where they send out a DVD every month (unless you cancel it) and he'd forgotten to cancel this months shipment - "War of the worlds" and "Star Wars 3" - so I took it off his hands. Also in the shipment was "Cinderella", which he'd promised to get me as a present. A bit later in the day [while shopping] I found a "Doctor Snuggles" box set and that was just too good not to snatch. That's a lot of DVD's in one day and entertainment shouldn't be something I'll be short on for the time being, heh.

My phone and keyboard have both been replaced with new, shiny upgrades. (*swallows urge to quote "Robots"*) The old keyboard's letters were beginning to fade and I've been frustrated with my old phone for quite some time. So that led me to buy a sleek [black] keyboard, which'll take me some time to get used to but feels oh-so-good to type with, and a Nokia 6101. Treating myself coincided with my parents doing the same, otherwise there's no way I'd've gotten all this in such a short span of time. You wont hear any complaints about it from me, though.

A cold/depression that struck after getting back from London has meant I've not worked for almost 2 weeks. My "internship" at the video store had been extended to last through November but there's been no talk about further arragements and that made me uneasy, though I didn't know so until I got sick. Negative thoughts have a tendency to crawl out of the woodwork when you're down and out *nods*

Two phonecalls today seemed to sort that out. My supervisor had called the owner, who was more than ok with me staying through December as well, and hopefully it'll be ok'ed so I can get money too.

Speaking of my supervisor... Both mom and I have a sneaky suspicion that the he's going to run into the famous wall any day now. He lost his dad earlier this year and was hit pretty hard by it, along with his workload increasing significantly when a company went out of business - making many jobless - and a lot of people suddenly needed the assistance his office provives. It's made him very stressed out, if not very whimsy. Communicating with me about how things are going to go has been left to the absolute last day these past couple of months, something that makes me wonder if I should just explore options on my own. Then again, he'll be able to offer me loads of help in whatever I'd be interested in pursuing. Sounds like a mix of scouting around myself and getting assistance from him might be the way to go. Mmm. Mhm.

Eh, this depressed cold is knocking me out.... cold. There are times when it feels better and Kat managed to catch me in one of those moments, making it last a little longer *glomps her and Liam* I'll try to repay the loveliness you two give me!

It hasn't managed to stomp my itching creativity. Not sure if that's good or bad. Alan would most likely groan, shake his fist against the sky and then slap my hands off :p Poor guy gets pestered a lot when it comes to my creative outbursts.... Though he's also the only guy around when they occur! Everyone else is either away or not on at all. Lame excuse but an excuse none the less, heh.

But now I must end this post to lavish in some Literati. Mmmmm =)

*cops out, halfway-ish*

Go to Solo's to read more about Dover.

EDIT: The bus ride to Dover didn't take too long and the landscape on the way was prettiful. Rolling hills and steep valleys is very much contrasting to what it looks like where I live, heh. Dover Castle couldn't have been more grand in the sunshine, especially with the sea sparkling below the cliffs. Everywhere you looked was a postcard view.

I (along with others) would've liked to stay longer than the 1 hour-ish we got, since it didn't leave us with much time to explore. There were two options of what we could do, one being the dungeons and the other one was probably the sparse exhibition of "preparing for a king to stay". All our faces lit up upon hearing the word "dungeon", lol. They were far more interesting than the exhibition, in my opinion.

At one point we stumbled across this secluded "cave" where it was so pitchblack that it was nigh impossible to see your hand if you stretched it out. Which was a shame, since a fascinating hole in the wall begged to be explored further. So if you're going to Dover: remember your flashlight/torches!

Megan and one of her buddies (Jeff?) actually explored another tunnel (equally dark) much to the wonderment of the rest of us. Though the idea that they might "fall into the abyss" (Copyright Jeff 2005) was a bit worrying, heh. No harm came to them, thankfully.

Megan (and Eleine) wanted to go up the castle top and take some pictures after the [rather brief for my liking] excursion through the dungeons. My vertigo was bad enough being on the "ground" - Dover Castle is pretty far above sea level, eheh - but I decided to conquer my fears (with the promise from Megan I could hold her hand if it got too scary). The view was definitely worth it, despite my balance being completely thrown off the roof :p

Catching the last bit of time (and light) Solo posed on one of the canons, as did Megan, and then everyone trekked down the hill to the bus. On the way out of Dover we caught a glimpse of the White Cliffs, which were more greyish and covered with shrubs than glistening white *shrugs* The Guide also said something about tension between locals and immigrants, since so many came/come with the cargo ships. Sad situation.

Despite the promise (from Megan) of rowdyness from our co-passangers, it was fairly quiet on the road back into London. Eleine struck up a conversation with a teacher that accompanied the students and he really lobbied FSU to her, lol. At first I was a bit dubious about him and wondered what his intentions were (*cough*) but after listening in on their talk, I felt comfortable enough to relax.

Though [roughly] half an hour short of our scheduled arrival, I got really antsy. (Solo sat next to me and must've had a rough time trying to unwind with me twitching, eeeeeh.) That soon shifted into nausea as the bus jerked about pretty hefty *_* Lots of stomach churning accelerations and breaks have that effect. Megan sure felt it too, despite having some aspirin before leaving Dover.

Guide Brian was highly amused of my mock throw-up improvisation (once outside the bus I almost tossed myself over a railing while pretending to hurl) and dissapeared into the London night, most likely scrambling off to his "hot date". A shame I couldn't get a better picture of him. But it does seem to capture him quite well anyway. Hehe.

Feeling like I was going to toss up at any minute didn't do much for my appetite, so I resigned to drinking my nourishment drink while the others munched on Japanese goodies. Though Solo let me taste the broth from his ramen and it tasted somewhat familiar. And it couldn't be helped that Naruto came to mind, lol.

If you took out of account the fact that the restaurant felt very modern in its interior design, it had the same air as the place Naruto glomps down his [many, many, many] bowls of Ramen =) (Is it called "Ichigo's Ramen" or something like that? Kei?)

Of course we couldn't finish the day off without having some Starbucks coffee/hot chocolate. This time the hot chocolate was very hot! The one in Canterbury probably chilled pretty fast in the cool weather but the upstairs in this Starbucks was steaming with warmness :) Le sigh, I miss Starbucks.

While sipping on our drinks we studied the London Tube map and finally faced the truth. There was no way Solo and I could tag along to Harry Potter. Which saddened us both since Megan was so excited about it and it would've been a cool thing to finish our day with. Still, we'd had a cool day as it was =)

Solo's cellphone had reached increasingly high levels of poking/prodding by now and, after a brief stint in the computer lab at Megan's dorm, he had to take a bow, sadly. Us girls carried on for a bit longer in the flat of Badness, playing "Go fish"! Eleine kicked both our asses mostly but Megan made a superb finish by slamming down her supremeness and taking the last game home ^__^

Her well earned victory marked the end of our audience with the Royal Mistress of Bad. Some hugging later my sister and I were off to our hotel, making a quick stop at KFC where she got some chicken ... things. As soon as we got to our room, I read the message Megan left to me in the book Sara sent me (*grins*) and nearly bawled my eyes out. Needless to say, Megan is tremendously wonderful. And groovy. And rocking. Just everything, lol.

Badness Rules =)

Gazing out the window

When I was 11 years old [or so], stuff went on in school that my teacher thought could be sorted out by my classmates each sending me a letter outlining what they thought of me or how they felt about/towards me. So, if anyone would like to oblige me by doing that (and feel free to label me, people) then it'd be very much appreciated. And while you're free to highlight any positive aspects of me, don't be afraid to point out the negative stuff. Somehow it feels like now is the right time to ask for this favour, odd as it seems. Heh.

I'll get back to posting about the remainder of the Dover trip
[and to gush about how awesome Megan is],
soon.

Pepperidge Farm > Animal Farm

Despite spending way too much of these past couple of days in bed, I'm still not feeling very well. Part of it is being mellow about not being in London but mostly it's just a simple cold *shakes fist* Anyway. On with the show.

Friday morning had a bit of drama added to it, despite our efforts with time-managing. Our tube stop (Bayswater) was aproximately half an hour away, at least if walking to and from tube stops were counted into it, and we had to be outside Megan's apartment by 8.15, to ensure they didn't leave without us.

Since the hotel stated that their breakfast didn't start until 7.30, Eleine needed to buy something to munch on (I'd already had sandwiches and a nourishment drink that I brought along with me), so she went on ahead and I picked up Hugo.
While walking to the tube we ran into Eleine, who'd realized she'd forgotten her Travelcard in our room. What she also said (that I didn't pick up on) was that she hadn't had time to buy any food because of that and while we were on the tube she worried that there wouldn't be anything to eat until noon-ish. Her mood plummeted due to the stress, quite understandably.

Thankfully there was enough time to pop into a store and fix that but she still had to gulp it down on the go, since food wasn't allowed on the bus. Not a brilliant start to the morning for her =/ Badness also had it rough, waking up late and suffering from motion sickness. I gave her some buns to ease the misery, haha.

The guide in our bus was, by far, the most brilliant guide I've ever had the pleasure to encounter: Brian. He was really good at being informative in a captivating and enlightning way, as well as being cheeky fun. Brian also noted (rather bemused) that no one would be in the mood to hear him chattering all the way to Canterbury (about 1½ hours drive) so he let people have a kip or chill with some music until we got closer to our destination.

Canterbury was quite lovely. Charming streets, pretty scenery and rather interesting people. You might've noticed the swan picture but sadly enough I didn't take the opportunity to snap a picture of the elderly gentleman that stood next to us while we discovered it. He'd saved that swan (Fred) after it got tangled in fishing hooks and they'd become buddies after that. Apparently he named all the male swans Fred, and the females Frida ^__^

Every day he'd come there to feed Fred (and duckies) with bird seeds, since breadcrumbs aren't good for the birdies. That man had so much to tell us, I can't remember half of it, haha. Some of it was really sweet, such as the rescue stories (there was this other swan that he'd rescued that was twice ..or three times? .. the size of Fred O.o) but also sad stuff. Such as how the waters got polluted by toxins and it took years to clean things up but he persevered in his fight to sort things out. Really sweet/quirky geezer ^_^

The Cathedral, which we visited first, was rather impressive structurally. Inside it felt a bit .... not lonely but ... there was a sad kind of solitude looming. Usually churches have a peaceful effect, though in there it only left me feeling nothing. Coming out into the sunshine felt nice afterwards, heh.

Whilst randomly walking about we discovered the beautiful garden with the enourmous tree trunk. Everything in there made it look/feel like Spring was on its way _^_ And around the corner from the stone arch *gestures excitedly* was that "once in a life time -you're gonna kill yourself if you don't catch it- photo op"! It was as if someone had set it up, like they do in studios, with everything perfectly lined up and balanced.

Usually I muck up when trying to take a decent photo (which is why I settle for taking weird and silly pictures) so it was absolutely thrilling when it turned out great *giggles* Enough to put a copyright mark on it after sticking it in my intro :p

The bus/coach had a departure time of 1.30 (which we made, since we're awesome *snicker*) but some were late and that resulted in a shortened stay at Dover Castle =(

But it's late, I'm sick, so you'll have to wait to read the rest of the trip =P

PS: Hugo gave Megan and I a chocolate fishie each, from the superb chocolaterie Montezuma! (Chocolate Piranha, dude!) Yes, there is no end to his wonderfulness

Badness: *massive hug* Were you staying in London for next semester as well? >_>

Liam: Your new avatar is kickin' ^_^ And thanks for humouring me by laughing at the bad puns :p

Hevn: Imagine then how hot he is in person ;_; As scorching as that hot chocolate at Starbucks, let me tell you ;D

John: Awww, happy to hear it brought a smile to your face!

Charlie: Thank you, dahling =) I totally agree with you about us playing Literati soon. Very soon!

Slick: We'd make London a very bad place to be, indeed ~_^ Or Vancouver, for that matter :p

Molly: *snuggles* And I'll be hardcore jealous over you in that pretty wedding dress of yours!

Pyro: *blushes* My photos are usually just weird and crazy but I'm well chuffed over the "postcard from Canterbury" one _^_ And you may very well steal me over the summer!

Sara: Such a positively wonderful comment *grins and clasps your hands* You were with us in spirit! Next time you'll hopefully be there with us :-*

Alan: *girly sigh* I know. Not about the first part of your sentence but the latter.

Shinmaru: Glad you liked them =D If Shin is happy, everyone else is! Oh, and meeting Megan totally made me want to meet you ^_^

As I was washing my hair just now it became clear just how much my head has been abused lately. There were at least 2 bumps from when I've hit my head on the kitchen fan and a taxi door ^_^;;

You're a lovely view

Echoes of London

Both Badness and Solo know where I live, so if they want to kill me for putting any pictures up .... they can O.o;;;;

But hopefully Shin will protect me, since he wants proof and I owe it to him after whooping his ass in Literati /lame excuse to show off two absolutely gorgeous people to the rest of the world.

And Alan will want to know: No, I didn't get any action. Though there was a guy in Subway that stared at me and smiled a lot ..... but I just figured he was insane.

I miss London. And Megan. And Hugo. Almost equally much. This trip really cleared a lot that I've been thinking about, in terms of dreams vs reality, and put my mind at total ease. It's one thing to say "I want to move over there!" and imagine/hope it'll be alright - and another to have the confidence behind it that you'll be alright to do so. I have that now. It's good to know.

Wednesday was all about getting from the apartment to the hotel in London, which took .... roughly 9 hours. Lots of sitting on busses and trains, just waiting to reach each designated destination. Actually finding the hotel, after reaching our tube stop, wasn't too hard but trying to understand where we were (and how to get to where we needed to go) was a tad confusing. It was a mixed bag of road signs not matching up with the map at all and being really tired after travelling all day. We managed to keep our cool, though.

The hotel rooms were decent. Far better than the Hammersmith hostel I stayed in with Angela last year, anyway. Taking the elevator one floor down felt really silly and overly luxurious, especially compared to climbing quite a few set of stairs up to Megan's flat *sweatdrop* Our only major gripe about the room was how ludicrously hard the beds were. We literally laid directly on the springs. Ouchies. My duvet (as well as the bed) was twice the size of Eleine's, so I could use half of it as an underlay of sorts and wrap the rest around me to keep warm. (I'm pretty sure I looked like a spring roll...) Poor Eleine ended up with a very sore back :-/

We didn't do much more that evening. Eleine had a pizza in the hotel restaurant and then we went to bed. Feeling very tired. The quote of the day was when we tried to do a little math and I said
"Hang on ... yesterday was the day before today ... right?".
Eleine sort of blinked and then we both burst into a fit of laughter, highly amused over just how out of it we were =)

*****

Thursday was the day of many pleasurable meetings! Before going over to England it looked like I'd "just" get to meet Megan and possibly Ger (sadly that didn't work out) but, as it turned out, Hugo came along as well *insert happy grin*

Eleine and I were doing a little bit of shopping on Oxford street (too many cute clothes in one store and not enough money caused me much [brief] agony *tear*) when he texted me with information about where he was and we met up smack-dab in the middle of Oxford Street. He was on the phone when I snuck up on him and he sort of looked like a modern pirate/ninja with his outfit, which was very becoming *nod nod* Turned out Megan was on the other end! I got to say a couple of words to her (feeling very much like a fangirl) before deciding where to meet up. Hugo was the designated map-reader so he took care of getting us around, hehe.

As we all approached Tottenham Court Road I spotted a familiar face, that lit up in a beaming smile, and thus began the awesome whirlwind-craze of happy adventures with Badness!!! She is so much more cooler than you could imagine and her wonderful spirit made me feel just as cool ^_^ You have not lived until you've met her!

When hugging and giggling had been taken care of, Megan showed us the way to her flat. It was in the most fabtastical house that resembled "The Labyrinth" with all its passageways and stairs. A game of hide-and-seek would've been muchly awesome, rawr.

Our legs got quite the workout from climbing all the way to the flat (which we did a couple of times) so the big sofas in their livingroom/kitchen got a very warm welcome from us, haha. We were introduced to some of her flatmates, all of them very nice, and then she had to be on her way to class. While she got edumacated, the rest of us took a trip back down Oxford Street for some munchies. Eleine had spotted Belgian Waffles and I was in the mood for those infamous pizza slices I've longed to nibble on for a couple of years.

Everyone got grub and we enjoyed it outside this Asian-themed restaurant, where they'd arranged a waterfall and placed low benches in front of it as seating arrangements. 'Twas nice to sit there. When dinner was finished we stocked up on water, browsed the Disney Store (where I got Eleine a huge coffee cup with Sulley on it) and decided to head back to Megan's flat.

Oooooh! Almost forgot that we made a visit to Forbidden Planet! You can't be in London and not go there, after all. Hugo found himself some goodies (which I'll leave to him to inform you about), as did Eleine and I. She got a Simpsons collection book-thingy, and I bought a My Little Pony Movie DVD for Juliette. The last time we saw that movie, we nearly died laughing. It's gonna be a blast to see it in English now!

By the time we got to the flat, Megan still wasn't out of her class and none of her flatmates were in. Luckily there was a lounge to ... lounge in. Hugo and Eleine enjoyed their purchases while I immersed myself in this diary of an Indian girl, written back when they were forced to adapt to the "white men's" ways.
Intriguing little book.

Our lovely host Megan returned gloriously and whisked us off to British Museum. That building in itself is so architectually wonderful, le sigh. There was a Greek and Egypt exhibition going on, both very interesting. (They also inspired my imagination to some really lame puns/jokes that I unloaded on poor Megan, hehe.) Badness got some badass pictures in there, so look forward to see those *nod*

The giftshop got our attention and some of our money but it was Starbucks that got our souls! I am totally sold on their hot chocolate ;__; Took every chance to gulp one of those down, I tell ye. Very tasty addiction. Some of Megan's buddies were also hanging out in Starbucks and we got to "meet and greet" them :p

But, alas, the time came to return to our room to rest up for the upcoming Friday excursions. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked (which threw us for a bit) so Hugo had to stay at another hotel, further down the street. Eleine stayed in our room while I accompanied Hugo for his dinner and then we hung out a bit in his room. I'd brought Nintendogs with me and played for a bit so he could see what it was like and compare it a little to what it's like to have a real dog.

Now, his beds (yes, plural!) were sooooooooo comfortable compared to mine and it was nigh impossible to tear myself away from it. I nearly fell asleep and would've been quite happy to do so. Ultimately he had to almost kick me out, lol. Such a bummer to return to my bed after that *shakes head and sighs*

This post is getting a bit long so I'll stop here and tell you about the Canterbury/ Dover trip tomorrow =) Or maybe force someone else to *bums about in bed* >>

Badness, you're a totally spicy sweetheart. Thanks for giving me a great time. Rock on!

Sleepy, but excited!

Slick: *laughs* Do you have a place you love to travel to?

Pyro: Arrr, cuddly I be! And you'll get to cuddle me sooner or later :p

Shimmy-poo: Awwww, I'm sure you have a cute accent :-*

Sara: *flutters* Get your travelling pants on and join my in my dance =D

P-chansacutie: Will do!

:3F: *dances with you* We shall think of you as we skip down the streets of London ^__^

Badness: *tries to contain giddyness* I shall do my best not to disappoint! Fun will be had!

Timber

Pyro: *hugs* You brave, brave fuzzball! Can I have a mini-pyro to keep in my pocke? =)

Slick: *laughs* Hey, if there's anything you want to know, just ask. Maybe I'll do a whole post about my experiences with periods :p

Evil: Oh. Man. That. Sucks. Major. Elephant. Balls >_< *gives you plenty of chocolate*

DDG: Ugh. If ever in doubt whether you're alive or not ... Day 2 will give you a definite answer -.-

John: *holds back roaring laughter* Naughty, tsk tsk. The chips are niiiiice, though. As are some pizza slices *licks lips*

Lea: *meows and snuggles* =D

Hevn: You are so lucky, in so many ways :-*

Sara: Here's some love right back atcha *blows a kiss* You stay positive, too!

I'm short, chubby and fairly dull

That was a little reminder to Badness and possibly Ger-Ger to bring any expectations they have on me down to earth, eheh. I'll still keep mine about them being awesome, cool and super hot :p

EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, London is only a few days away. Why do I love going there so much? *spins on the chair and grins* Dunno =)
