Strawberry Morning to you all
Well, it's shortly after 11 this beautiful and sunny Saturday morning. My sister and I strolled down to the town square around 10, but there wasn't that much to look at. The stands, compared to last year, were scarce and didn't have anything to offer.
We didn't even see the ceramics lady =\

But we did buy candy and the guy recognised us :D

Seems like he's noted our annual return for the chocolate fudge, lol. I got my mom a big bag of the goody and then stacked some (both the fudge and marmalade/ juicy fruit), just in case anyone wants shipped-home made candy, haha. If not, it'll just mean more to mom and the younger sister.

We might go down again after my sister has had breakfast (yeah, she went on an empty stomach. Crazy girl), so maybe there will be more stands set up then. It could be that some wait until the big strawberry give out *shrugs*

In any case, it looks like the weather obliged to your demands ^__^
*bows to readers and then huggles them*

EDIT: Haha, it started to rain slightly, so we decided not to go down again. Besides, the candy guy said there were several fairs going on right now and so it seems unlikely that more stands will show up today.
The younger sister also informed me that the marmelade candy was called "Turkish Delight" in English. My dictionary really is lacking *pouts*

Snooze and snuggle
Mmm... the sun was shining through my window earlier, warming my neck *content sigh*

I had a Scrabble session with my dad today and I won, which was completely unexpected. He was quite crushed, hehe :p

So aside from playing FFX-2 (*shivers when thinking of the concert*) and chatting briefly to people this morning, not much has happened. I do have some reading to do now, but first I'll fill you in on the "festival" that's taking place this weekend. *clears throat*

Strawberry Day

Yep, tomorrow is Strawberry Day in my hometown. That means all the local cultivators bring in their harvest to the town square and everyone is treated to one plastic plate with strawberries and whipped cream/ice cream on it. The fruit is also sold quite extensively throughout the day.

A couple of months before the festivities begin, there is actually a campaign for 'Miss Strawberry'. Girls get nominated by friends or family, 5 candidates are picked, people vote for a few weeks and tomorrow the winner will be announced, earning a necklace and the flashy title.

Apart from the obvious strawberry theme, they also invite a smaller carnival which stays open until 2 am on Sunday morning. A fair is held during 9 am to 3 pm (9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon) and various artists are invited to perform. During the day there are mostly clowns and artists that appeal to the youngest/older generation and in the evening there's usually a more popular group/artist playing in the park.

This year Eskobar is invited. I don't know how well known the band is outside of Sweden, but they did a song with Heather Nova (last year ?) called "Someone new".
I would've liked to go, just to hear what they sound like live, but the price was too high and it was too late in the evening for me to (I don't feel like sharing a small space with people who are drunken out of their mind, no matter how good a band).

My younger sister and I will go together this year. We'll do the traditional visit to the stand that sells home made candy... There are actually several stands that sell home made candy, but there is one guy that we always buy from. He's super nice and the candy is superb, ensuring our loyal return every year ^_^ Out of all the things he has, I always buy a certain type of chocolate fudge to mom (and some years I've even bought my oldest sister some), which she loves. All the others in the family are mad about that candy, really. Though the jelly fruits are a favourite too.

We'll also be on the look out for a woman who sells her mother-in-law's ceramics.
It was two years ago that she first partook in the fair and we bought a few things (in other words: we tried not to go mad and buy everything, lol). I bought this huge red apple that sits on my telly, it's absolutely gorgeous. You guys really need to see it *makes note to take picture*

Anyway. As it turned out, we were her first customers (our appreciation for the ceramics really attracted a lot of attention, so when we left there were plenty of people gathering) and when we saw her last year she actually recognised us :D
A really nice lady, with awesome ceramics *nods*

Well, hopefully the weather will be nice and the stands filled with interesting things !

Anyone want some home made candy ? ^_^

Whistle and I'll come running.... -sniffles-

Kill Bill posters

*copies Charmi and comments on comments*
I would comment on the post before that, but laziness overcomes me >_>

Charmi: So it was you ~_^

amcgirl13: Not really, it's a natural reaction blah blah blah. *giggles* Certain sneezes are weird though :)

Anatema: Oh it tingles alright, lol.

Mr Azazel: Goonies ! Awesome of you to provide goodness *bows deeply*

Arcadia: Hehe, yes. There is much to say *clings to the game* ... Just let me play a little bit more, lol. (The concert is up tomorrow, if all goes well *grins*)

Winged Youki: My dad and younger sister are really loud with their sneezing. Sometimes I think they make a sport of it, haha.

Number5: Hm, 'think happy thoughts' eh ? I'll try that ^_^

James: "It's all in your imagination" .... "Wishful thinking" in other words ? *points at the link and wanders off* .... *comes running back* Yes, try FFX-2. Play a little and see what you make of it.

- EDIT -

Azure: Yes, you must. You tease, haha ^_^

Chie: The worst sneeze is the one that almost breaks out but then crawls back. So you're standing there with your face scrounged up, ready to let it go... and nothing happens, lol. Eee, my nose tingles just thinking about it *huggles Chie*

Sweet dreams to you all ^_^

Quick thought
This really isn't an update. Well, I could make it one by saying I stayed up til 2 am playing FFX-2 and go off on tangents when telling what I did. But that'd be tedious right now. So I'll simply put the following up and skip offline.

I've been sneezing like mad this morning (*looks at time* 09.54 am) and I want to know who's thinking about me and what kind of thoughts they are, seeing as the sneezing is so intense.....

So yeah. Hopefully, if it doesn't start to rain buckets, we'll go play minigolf. Or maybe I'll just sit inside and play various games all day :p

Which reminds me ! Tony, please please please, please me... I mean, tell me more about the original Goonies game. Either here in the comment box, or back at your place. (Yes, double linky for you too)

And Arcadia, I am getting so many flashbacks to FFX that it makes me feel like the story has been engraved in my heart and that I could re-tell every single sequence by heart. It's funny how being presented with the locations in the "new Spira" spring forth so many old memories.... If only I didn't go back to such moments as when Yuna did her sendings ;___;

The vortex of doom !

I am finally playing FFX-2 and it's still strange to run around in places that are so filled with memories ("Look, that's where he used to stand !", "That's where that battle took place and he/she said this/that" and so on).

At first it was really bewildering, maybe because I haven't played in a long time, and for a little while I didn't want to go on. The void of the characters from the last game felt so big, the whole battle system felt crazy and everything completely went over my head.
It took a couple of battles (though no deaths *amazed*) to remind myself that this isn't what it used to be in FFX and I needed to reacquaint with the world and its [new] ways. Meeting Wakka and Lulu was a bittersweet happening, since it was a reunion of sorts that made everything a bit more familiar. I was just sad that I couldn't take them with me, heh.

One thing that's unnerving is the fact that I'll go "What's that ? What's it doing ? Where am I supposed to go/what am I supposed to do ?" and then immediately glare at my sister, snarling at her to keep her mouth shut >_>;
Her sitting there and knowing what's going to happen, combined with her nonchalant attitude towards spoilers, makes me edgy. I don't want to know anything before hand, I want to learn for myself.

In the early stages of the game she actually told me how to solve a quest before it was even given to me (something I didn't realise until being briefed about it).... You'd all be scared witless if you could've seen the look on my face as I realised what she'd done. Hrm.

But apart from that I'm enjoying the game. The whole ordeal with the Dress Spheres was quite daunting in the beginning, but it's slowly growing on me.
Yuna is still Yuna to me, there's just more focus on other parts of her personality.
In my humble opinion anyway.

"Mikey, you saved me ! You're braver than Brand !"

This morning I also got "The Goonies II" in the mail ! I hadn't heard from the guy that was selling it to me since my last e-mail, so there was some worrying going on. However, the game arrived super quick, is working perfectly and I got a lot of happiness for almost no money.

Playing it again is such a hoot and there's plentiful of nostalgia going on, along with much blushing over running around in circles and feeling lost. I just need to remember where all the stuff is *_*. Which shouldn't be a problem once I get more game time on it. And the booklet said something about the possibility of 2 players ? *makes big eyes* We had that game for ages and I don't think I ever caught that back then.... *shrugs* I'll look into that.

Cookies and milk.

My older sister also got great news in the mail. She's been accepted to a school where she'll educate herself to be a pastry chef or something like it ^__^ We celebrated by buying a cake, LOL !
Now that she knows what date the school starts it'll be easier to plan for things, such as the London trip.

I think it's great that she got in, because she really wanted this education and the stability that comes with being in an environment with some structure. Even if it means getting in debt over school fees, haha.

What to do with the time given to me.

There'll be no bowling tomorrow. My younger sister called to book a lane and were told (I'm guessing by an answering machine) that they had closed for the summer O.o As if it wasn't bad enough they were only open 3 days a week, now it's shut down for summer ?! Ugh.

So instead of searching for other bowling alleys, we decided we'll go play mini golf in the local park. I wonder how my swing is :p

In closing I'll remind myself to talk about a "festival" that will be taking place in my hometown this weekend. But right now I need to get back to my games, they are calling my name.... Hmmm, first it was the waffles and now it's the games, lol.

I miss talking to you all !
*hugs*

Play it again...
I'll not say how many pages of butterfly images I went over to find the one I have in my avi... But it was a lot of pages. Hrm. Sorry Pyro. But it is a wonderful butterfly, isn't it ? ^__^

Speaking of Pyro. I lurked around her place for a while, until I got the courage to actually say anything. ("Hi, I'm Mimmi and I'm a lurker.") Even though I haven't known her very long, I still think it's sad that she's taking a break from her MyO. So if anyone wants to go by her place when she announces her departure officially and leave a nice message, it'd be really sweet of you *smile and curtsey*

Speaking of sweet. Chie, I think it'd be safe for you to download at least the first batch of "Kaleido Star" episodes. The anime isn't bad, but after being hooked on Naruto... well, hehe. Do you know where to get it ? If not, let me know and I'll give you the linky ^_^

Going back to my butterfly hunt yesterday, I came across yet another cute link.

Cuddle attack !

Once again, I'm sorry if evil pop-ups and such appear. The link is to a page with bunnies, so I would hope that there aren't any nasty stuff popping up.

In any case, I'm very happy about the comments on my new avi *giggles* As much as I love the Cherry Blossom one, this actually goes fairly well with the overall blue theme.

Oooo, and my speakers are functioning very well ! Kill Bill has been slaughtered many times over... in a good way ~_^

Yesterday my younger sister gave me her FFX-2 copy so I could play it, Today the sun is shining and Thursday promises bowling. This is looking to be a good week indeed ^_^

Music for the Masses !

Mmmm, Depeche Mode

Bang, bang
I decided to change my avi, just to see what it looked like. It may stay there. Probably.

I also decided to go over my Profile. I burst out laughing when I realised that after the 'contact' section came 'a/s/l'. Yes it took me this long to think about that.

After saving my changes I stopped laughing. My 'Pants Collection' had vanished.... I am heartbroken.

EDIT: THANK YOU ALAN ! I remembered that he made "Mimmi's Pants" for me (which is located at his website White Butterfly". Yes Alan, double linky. Rejoice.) and I just had to go to there and voila ^_^ *clings to her achievment*

And regarding the avi: I have no idea what kind of butterfly it is, Pyro >_>; I found it while cruising for butterfly images on Yahoo, hehe. But since you ask, I shall look and see what I can find.

As for Mr Azazel having a blue butterfly as well... I would love to say that great minds think alike, but my mind isn't great. So I'll just smile ^_^

(I was actually about to ask 'Where is your blue butterfly ?', but then I refreshed the comments box and it all clicked, lol.)

Naughty, naughty me ...
Despite whining about not having much money saved for my trip, I still managed to buy the "Kill Bill OST" and the "Goonies II" videogame for NES *guilty smile*
But they were really cheap ! The soundtrack only cost half as much as when it come out and the game was cheaper than a cd that has just come out, LOL.

And now I've seen an MP3 player that I simply must have, since lugging around cd's (and the player) is becoming a major hassle. But I'll have to think about that one, because it comes with a price tag ;_;

Other matters.

Yesterday I began to watch an anime called "Kaleido Star", with my younger sister. She'd seen a couple of episodes at a friends house and encouraged me to download what I could find. To be honest it didn't sound very appealing, but it's a cute (though repetitive in its form) anime.

In short: It's about a girl (Sora) who leaves Japan to go to America and audition to be a star at the Kaleido Stage. The Kaleido Stage puts on acrobatic performances and the competition to get a part in the show is fierce. Sora fights hard to be accepted and to overcome any (and all) obstacles.

In this show there is a boy that Sora befriends and his eyes reminds me so much of .... ehm, right ... *remembers* ... I never did spell that one out... Hehe ^_^;

Hrm, a while back I wrote about how you suddenly look into a strangers eyes and have an overwhelming desire to smile at them. Well, those eyes belonged to a boy and the one in the anime has eyes that reminded me of his. There. Moving right along. Here's a picture of the boy in the anime:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

So basically if you imagine that boy, only less animated, you'll have an idea of what the boy I'm talking about looked like.

Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to [have my dad] fix my speakers, so that I can blast some Kill Bill tunes ~_^
I will also attempt to get some bowling action today, tomorrow or any other day this week ! There must be more bowling :D

*Rawr*

EDIT: *steals quiz from Charmi and Shin

Haha.... hrm, that is very accurate. Eerie.... Well, not really. I mean, I took the quiz, so it reflects my answers. So it's not really eerie.... Anywhooo.

Movie time and sunshine

After what seems like an eternity of rainy and cold days, we had some sunshine today and warm enough weather to not wear socks :o And as much as I dislike the chilly cold we've had, it'd be nice if it didn't get a whole lot warmer than today. I'm only comfortable taking off so much, ehum. Interestingly enough, I did manage to go for a walk in "only" an armless top and a pair of shorts that went just below my knee. That's a huge step from refusing to wear less than two layers in scorching heat, which I did up until... today, haha.

My younger sister accompanied me and we rented some DVD's, namely "Tarzan" (Disney) and "Hulk". Tarzan was a lot better than expected, getting a lot of laughs out of us both. For some reason I've been apprehensive about newer Disney productions. I'll definitely check out more of what they've put out now though.
Hulk was ok. Eric Bana was more than ok, but let's not go there. It was a bit disappointing to check out the "bonus" material and find that I had to watch the whole movie again if I wanted to see the "behind the scenes" stuff. Meh, saved that for tomorrow.

And apart from that, the biggest event for today was that I spent 1 whole hour in the sun, just soaking it up O.o Haven't done that for ages and probably won't do it too much now either, haha. I get color pretty quickly anyway and I don't feel a need to be brownie brown, so it works out perfectly. It was a lot nicer to walk in the sun though, than to lay there for the sake of getting a tan or whatever. I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more if I had had a cute guy to rub my back with sun screen, lol. Ah well, there was some vitamin intake and I don't look sickly anymore. That's more than nothing ^_^

*Gives Everyone much Love and Hugs*

And there was much amusement -Edited-
Well, my sister got on the train a couple of hours ago and should be "home" by now. It was a really good visit, albeit short. I think she'll be back in a month or so and the plan is to (hopefully) skip on over to the amusement park. That is if the weather will allow us to. Just talking to her about it made me itching to go, ugh.

It's funny... usually when she comes to visit I tend to get really anxious, because I don't want time to go to waste and [of course] it seems to fly by really fast. Yesterday there were actually several instances where I would look at the clock and be amazed at how little time had actually passed. Goes to show that you can enjoy yourself far much more if you just relax and go with it, than if you get all tense _^_

And we didn't really do much, but we had fun doing the things we did !

About the first thing I did was to play some songs from the Naruto soundtracks. (That's sort of a tradition in my family, to constantly share music and introduce each other to new stuff and remember old stuff.) If she had stayed longer I would've definitely showed her a few episodes as well, but having my younger sister hooked on it is good enough, I guess :p

Mom and dad went out to run some errands and I decided to suggest *cough*demand*cough* that we kids play Scrabble, which worked like a charm. Hehe, there were some comparison drawn between my oldest sister and dad. Both are equally competitive and try to get as many points as possible, whereas I and my younger sister just try to get out words. Some day we need to play completely off the rules, because the things we come up with and can't use (because it's not in the dictionary *grumbles*) is priceless, LOL.

A while after dinner there were waffles with whatever you wanted to have on them. That included strawberry jam, proper strawberries, whipped cream and ice cream.
I made the waffles *pose* Only half of the waffle mix was used, so there's still some left for a rainy day. Wazooo !

Later on in the evening my oldest + younger sister, myself and mom played a game of cards. (Dad was watching soccer and the older sister was being a recluse as usual.) Even though mom claims to be totally inept at any game, she completely bowled us over. We didn't stand a chance, much to my oldest sisters' annoyance, haha. Though no one had a clue on how to award points (we played poker... no idea what the version was called), so new rules were made. That is quite common, like so many other things, hehe. A game can become so much funnier if you have your own set of rules :p

By the end of the day my back was hurting so badly (it had been getting progressively worse since Monday, I think) and I begged mom to give me a massage. Well, actually... I didn't beg, because my mom is wonderful and she gave me a 30 minute backrub *happy sigh* After that I went straight to bed, temporarily free from pain, sleeping quite peacefully through the night _^_

Going for a power walk today with my oldest sister (who's a lot more fit than I am) was probably not the most brilliant of ideas, but my back survived *_*;;;;
Aside from that, most of the day was spent talking, laughing and eating good food. So I'm not at all sad that we didn't get to go bowling, since everyone had a great time anyway ^_^

EDIT: The Scrabble game is in Swedish, lol. So in addition to the regular letters we also have å, ä, ö. But I'm thinking about getting the English "version" when I go over to London :D

*spreads the Waffle mania further* Sorry Juuthena >_>;;;

Waffles to the People !
