Day 1 - part II & Day 2
After walking along the Thames for a while and being extemely silly (not sleeping much and being on the move will do that to you, heh) I dragged Solo and myself back to The Globe. It was still a couple of minutes until the tour started, so we checked out the exhibition inside. It was neat to see models of The Globe and instruments used back in the old days, etc.
There was a flight of stairs going down to the first floor, looking like something that lead down into a jacuzzi, and this stunningly beautiful tree stood close to the base of the stairs. Should've taken a picture of it, but it slipped my mind *snaps fingers*
Anyway, the tour was delayed for a little bit, since the play dragged on (they had a full house - 1500 people !!) and they obviously couldn't let us in until all the people had been herded out :p
Our guide was great, though I can't remember her name, and the atmosphere inside .... just wow. To be perfectly honest the outside didn't evoke anything in me, but once we stepped through the door and into The Globe I was almost overwhelmed with a fantastical, theatrical feel ^___^
The Globe - Tribute to Arcadia !
The girl on the last picture was our guide ^_^
Aside from the tour, we had planned to head over to Forbidden Planet (since last time we only got to look around for a couple of minutes) and there wasn't much time left before it closed. Typically enough it was a repeat of last time and we got there about 10 minutes before closing time, haha. I wonder if I have this influence on people to get lost or something >>
It was, however, enough to find some Terry Pratchett books for my sister (the price for the Yoshitaka Amano artbook was a bit steep for my wallet) and Solo found some articles as well. The cashier was rude to Solo though, which made me want to thwack him. (Yes, I do have a temper.)
At this stage it was getting kind of late, considering the train ride to Chichester would take about 2 hours. By now I was a little bit nervous about meeting his parents. Well, nervous about what they'd think of me. It wouldn't be much fun (for myself or Solo) if they absolutely hated me >> And I'm also very sensitive to personal chemistry, so even if they turned out to be really nice people it wouldn't guarantee that I'd feel comfortable around them.
As it turns out, I had nothing to be worried about ^_^ ... Now that I think about it, they sort of remind me of my own parents O.o In some small way, anyway.
Solo's younger sister was also nice, though I'm sure she questioned our sanity at one point *laughs*
Romulus and Merlin were uber friendly and accepted me rather quickly (not to mention lovingly, haha), so I felt at ease instantly.
But I also felt really tired and turned in after updating MyO half-assed. I got to take over the room that belongs to Solo's older sister and it was better than the finest hotel room, in my opinion !
After getting a good nights sleep, we spent most of Sunday watching RahXephon (which I now can pronounce ! Couldn't spell it though, heh. Thanks Arcadia) and it really blew me away. A few episodes towards the end nearly had me sobbing hysterically, it was so emotional, but I held it in as to not worry Solo ^_^;;;
We did take breaks to walk the dogs in the lovely English countryside and I managed to make pancakes that actually tasted good :o We made the batter in the kitchen and then used this funny thing to actually make them in the livingroom :O! That was absolutely hilarious, lol. I can't really describe the contraption we used, so ask Solo about that ^_^;
Solo also showed me around the garden, which was lovely, and I got to meet the man responsible for the lovelyness. Tony, an older gentleman, who called me 'cherub' -^_^- I also got plenty of compliments for my skirt _^_ Everyone was so good to me, hehe.
That's it for today !
Pictures of more ships tomorrow :D
