Miss me much these days?
The image is a linky =D
= Rides I went on
= Rides I couldn’t be less bothered about =P*
Wow, we ended up going to Liseberg. All four of us. I had to assume the position role as Master Coordinator, though, and that made me feel as if no-one else really wanted to go. Everyone assured me they were as eager as I was, which didn’t say much because I wasn’t very enthused at all, lol. And there was the important issue of how the weather would be, etc. Turns out it was sunny for most of the day, with some fluffy clouds sweeping across and lovely breezes _^_
In any case, my younger sister hopped on the train and I met up with her when it stopped at my station (dad had to drive me there), then we mused over the sex of the person sitting in front of her/us (it was nearly impossible to tell but after seeing the hands we decided it was a male) and with a little guidance over the phone-age the older sister met us at the station. The idea was to walk to Liseberg from there but that didn’t work (surprise, surprise) so the walk went in the direction of her apartment where the last sister was getting ready.
Met David, a Canadian fellow who’s visiting the older sister, and the eldest sisters’ husband (bleh). It took a little while longer to get out of the apartment and even longer to walk to Liseberg but around 1 o’clock in the afternoon we stood outside the gates. The long queues really surprised me (goes to show how long ago I was there, heh), not only at the front gate but also to some of the more popular/new attractions. That’s why we missed out on some rides and didn’t get a chance to go several times in a row on others *sadness*
We hit up on Flumride first, anticipating to get wet and being able to dry off during the day. Let’s just say it was a wise choice! The eldest sat first (and got most of the water on her), then the younger, then me (my right leg got soaked along with the better part of my arm) and lastly was the older sister. It was a very good distributed weight combination *remembers it for next time* >.> After that we went on the Rainbow and that’s when it hit me that I was afraid of heights XD It kept reminding me for a lot of rides but the fun of them more than made up for my angst =P
Balder must’ve been the highlight, especially after waiting in line for about 50 minutes *dies* It’s a wooden rollercoaster and looks perfectly harmless. A 70 degree descent into an unknown ride isn’t so harmless and neither is going over a hill or two that led straight down a very dark tunnel in great speed, lol. Boy was it fun though ^____^
When the time came to head home we got on a tram back to the apartment (the older sister had only slept 3-4 hours, poor thing, so she left a little earlier) before getting into the eldest sisters’ car and get on the road back home. The journey was filled with much laughter, eating of goodies (mmm, sandwiches) and my younger sister singing/talking/laughing =)
Memorable moments: When it came time to eat I felt peckish for mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes is/are called Mos in Swedish and it was shaped like little balls. Saying it with an English accent made it sound like Moose Balls =D
Two 7-8 year old girls got cocky with my younger sister and I, so we gave them a dose of our superiority. After they were through with us (lol) one of them turned around to ask (seriously) if she had a lump on her forehead. It looked like it so I said yes and she turned back to her friend. Then a stroke of genius hit me, I turned to my sister and whispered “It looks like a head” XD This was late in the evening so I’m not sure how funny it actually is but we doubled over with laughter *giggles*
*
Bumper cars – Eldest and younger sister rode them but I skipped them ‘cause of my back.
Fairy Tale Caste – Really for the smaller children, though we usually go on it for the nostalgia. Missed it yesterday. Not that I minded =P
Höjdskräcken – *___* I have a fear of heights. Boy was that fear tested loads, lol. Maybe next time >.>
Kanonen – This one had 50 min to an hour waiting queue and it looked like a real bruising machine O.o;;;
Kållerado – It took us many hours to get dry from Flumeride so we weren’t too keen on risking getting wet again. Sometimes you don’t get a drop on you, other times you get drenched, haha.
Liseberg Tower – Boring ride, skipped it. I do have a fun memory of riding it once with my class. A friend said “I feel sick” and everyone shot away from her like she’d exploded (who wants vomit on themselves, eh?) XD
Maxxima PandaVision – Some kind of movie, which we didn’t have time for. I did take pictures of the posters with my cellphone though. Will post the two tomorrow.
Teacups – After going on all the fast and tummy tickling rides it felt rather lame to even think about going on this ride, lol.
Topspin – I’m never going on this one. Ever. Period. People spit when the ride is hanging upside down, ew.
Tornado – Fun ride but we were planning on eating after it so I bailed out =P
Uppskjutet – Another killer for my fear of heights, no matter how wonderful it is to be weightless for a second _^_
Waltzer – The two remaining sisters (older one had gone home at this point) were eating candy and weren’t too keen anyway =(
Wheee for copy and paste!
