Where is my spoon?
Well, I have dial-up. Broadband will take another month or so, for some unknown reason. My room looks pretty much the same as the pictures in the previous post shows. The rest of the apartment is almost fully visible now but we've still got some boxes to unpack/shift away. It's slightly annoying that finding things are such a hassle, or impossible, because it keeps me from really accepting this as my home when I don't know where anything is.
Ah well. Work started up on Monday and it was surreal. Like nothing had changed but it still felt completely different. Next week I'll add another 4 hours to my schedule and be up to part-time. Shouldn't be too bad. Doubt I could ever cope with full-time, though, heh. Maybe 75%. Giving it all you've got, every single minute, can be both good and bad.
I'm trying not to think too far ahead, where work is concerned. It's only an internship and no one has raised the question of whether or not there's a job for me once the trial is over. Well, my supervisor apparently was supposed to do so this week. If he remembered/had time. There's little use in dwelling on it now. I need to keep my mind on the present moment, otherwise I'll just drive myself into the ground. Too much hard work is at stake and doing that would be utterly moronic. Nothing ever comes out of thinking in my case, anyway.
Trying not to think makes it difficult to know how I'm doing/thinking/feeling, so in that sense I'm perfectly fine. Rented 9 movies in total from work and have gone through about half of them. There's a lot to catch up on, especially from a few years back. It's a mix of movies I missed when they came out and movies that didn't catch my eyes the first time around. *decides to amuse everyone with a list*
Stepford Wives*
Panic Room*
Ghost World*
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider
Ever After
Kiss the girls
Chicago
Notting Hill*
Time Machine*
Those marked with * are the ones I've seen. And I've little motivation to critique them or explain why that batch was chosen *sticks tongue out*
All this physical labout with the move has made me really, really, really appreciate the power of the shower. I can't conjour up a fitting image for how I smelled but it was gross and as soon as I'd had a shower it was time to start sweating again. Yuck. Lost a little bit of weight thanks to that, though. And from not getting into an eating routine yet. The kitchen wasn't ready when we moved in (and our own kitchen wasn't used this past weekend) which meant take-away *wrinkles nose* The first meal was pancakes, yesterday. I guess that since the apartment doesn't feel like home yet, my stomach isn't responding/signalling as normal. For some reason I lose quite a bit of appetite when I'm somewhere else/on the road.
*tilts head* It feels like I'm not saying anything.
As for bruising and stuff, my body is obviously still covered in bruises. Legs look like they've been hit with painball-balls, arms aren't so bad right now and oh, a shelf fell off my desk at one point and struck my spine. Luckily it didn't hit in a way that was too painful or damaging. In general you could say that there's been a massive amount of non-inflicted pain going on lately.
Not to mention that stupid, persistant cold. It got a little bit better only to worsen and go back and forth. Now I'm ok during the days but when night time rolls in, my nose gets clogged up, it gets difficult to breathe and makes it near impossible to fall asleep.
It's also weird that only one part of the bed is lined up against a wall. Normally I prefer sleeping in corners but there wasn't room for that here. Might take a while before I can relax knowing how far to the left/right I can go without falling to the floor.
Moving to the third floor was a bitch and her slobbery mutt, but it's very nice to not have anyone above you. Walking up and down the stairs gives me a bit of exercise as well. I could go on forever about the negative and the positive, probably. What plays my mind up the most is how I never imagined moving out of the house, or, if I did, I'd move somewhere else entirely.
Uhm. I'll stop here before this gets really babbly and incoherent.
Color me Evil: Thank yooo! Funny thing about the blind: dad put it up but it didn't block out nearly half as much light as it did in my old room. And opening the window is ... not working so well. *hassles dad about fixing it* >.>
Shabam: That's a fine bou--- desk ^_^; *stops quoting movies for the sake of everyone's sanity* Mmmm, the desk is great, despite being smaller than my last one (which dad got). Probably because there's more logical space, with the drawer and the shelf + the notice board! *hugs*
Hevn: *tucks you in* Sweet dreams.
Alex: If you're talking about the Världsatlas, then yes. Värld = World. *applauds* I've got a two-seat sofa just like that armchair, hah.
Slick: *clings to her bookcase* Yeah, it's groovy and even came with glass shelves but I opted for the wodden ones. It's from IKEA, land of Swedish furniture *pose*
Tony: Yes, well, you've only seen my room ¬¬ But it's nice once it's done up. I hear you about the prices on renting/leasing/whatever, my older sisters (all but the younger one) have the same problem.
John: Throw me a "moving in" party? You're good at that, after all =)
Rustym: *high fives* Word, man.
Suaveness: *kicks post office ... after they've paid Sarah* I really hope things sort themselves out for you, in a good way *snuggles* Just keep at it!
Sennen: Ah, the Swedish type of Scrabble *kidnaps him for a few games* Sadly no one around here is into playing boardgames that much.
Panda: :o *runs over to check what she's talking about* ..... *windows and glass shatter from excited squeees* Oh I love you for posting that picture! *shifty* *steals Feathers McGraw* >______>
James: Hehe, it's difficult to keep oneself from stroking and licking them. The armchair can sort of, almost, double up as a bed. If one doesn't mind falling asleep half sitting up.
Thanks for the compliments on my room, everyone *hands out candy*
