*scratches head*

Just got back from watching "Cold Mountain". My sister wanted to treat me to a movie, since I've done it a couple of times for her. We ended up missing a few minutes at the start, cause I was resting the afternoon away (I'm feeling a cold coming on) and she didn't remind me what time it was. So she threw a minor fit (PMS, she said), got over it and dad dropped us off at the cinema (local one).

And... yeah. I've seen it now....

Heh, I don't know what to say about it. The music was really good, I might get the soundtrack.
I cried at all the sad things (had no tissues, go figure) and felt disgusted and dirty from all the... less than pleasant stuff.

Renee Zellwegger was pure gold as Ruby.
Natalie Portman put some really good acting into her role, I was pleasantly surprised (probably because Jenna Malone's charachter pretty much showed her face and *spoiler*, earlier in the movie).

Ehm, there were so many faces that made appearances (most of them good, some even better) that I can't be bothered to go through them all. I need to get some distance to this movie, because I can't say that I was dying to see it and now that I have.... I don't know. But I've seen it *shrugs*

In closing I guess I could say that the whole movie felt like one of those old Irish folk songs, that migrated with the Irish folks up into the mountains. Heartbreaking, full of pain, and with a beautiful tune carrying across all the misery.

.....I think I need a hug.....
