The importance of being positive
Pyro: Yeah, that really is the way to go about it *nods* Seeing as I've got time on my hands, it's really something I ought to do! Much love to you =)

John: Ah, haha. It slipped my mind that they share .... Acronyms?

Slick: *laughs* My bad. It's a tootin' shame that you've got yet another cold plaguing you, especially since it distracts you from gaming school work and from feeling well, which is more important than school work >>! Have some waffles on me too. It'll do you good =)

Samie: Why, thank you ^_^

Lealacious: *dies laughing*  Hopefully it isn't horribly cruel of me to find it so amusing ^_^;;;;

Evil: I'll be one large bulk of steeeeeel! Must take precautions so I'm not too electrified. Wouldn't want big garbage bins swooping after me O.o;

John: *hugs* And suddenly I'm inspired to play out a piece of last nights Top Model, where one of the girls got drunk and connected with a big bush. “You really get me, you know? How do you do that? What's your secret?” XD;;;

Because I'm very silly and have time on my hands, a project of miniscule proportion announced itself to me a couple of days ago. Objective: to write a list of groceries usually purchased, check their prices and see how much money is spent weekly/monthly [whatever other time interval] on food.

My sister got an invitation to tag along, seeing as she probably needed to acquire some ingredients for dinner, which was almost a big mistake. She didn't get out of bed before noon and when I prodded her to get organized to go out, she was audacious enough to take plenty of time to read the newspapers while eating breakfast. Insert image of seething Mimmi at this point.

Luckily I didn't storm off in a huffy flurry (on either of the two occasions where my temper was cut short) but instead made sure to be really thorough in my research, thus making her wait for me. This was only done half-intentionally, as some items came in two sizes (single person-pack and family-pack) and it might be interesting to see the differences in how much a single persons spends vs a family. By family I'm counting two adults and one kid :p

It was surprising to see how little some things cost, especially when considered how long they last. Other, similar, items differed quite a lot in prices as well. A bag of flour, for instance, cost half of what a bag of caster sugar does. No wonder sugar used to be a currency *wipes brow*

We got some curious stares while perusing the aisles, which added to the fun. People seemed to be perplexed by the idea of someone taking notes on product prices. Some might've even become hesitant about buying things I checked out: “Oh my, she’s looking at the price of potatoes. Are they overpriced? Should I look elsewhere for cheaper potatoes?! Am I being royally screwed over?!!? ;___;” XD

That was probably not the case but I couldn't resist toying with the idea =D

Going through 4 pages of groceries took close to over an hour, despite planning it out to follow the store's set-up for where they were. I also thought a few items were in certain places when, in fact, they had been moved recently as the store reorganized their layout (tortillia wraps were no longer by the spices at the entrance, they were next to the vegetables/fruits at the other end of the shop where the rice used to be) but we still managed to find everything =)

All that's left to do now is to sort items into how often they're purchased and compile the results. Sounds easy enough but requires some thought. It's a fun project, none the less!
