Depeche Mode... again >:D
*squeals* Sarah ! You've seen them live ?! ... Can I touch you ? >_>
I was supposed to see them live, a couple of years back, but I got sick -_- My oldest and youngest sister came home and said that the arena they played in, were rocking some serious ground ;__;
There's a live track of "Everything Counts" on the "Singles Collection 86-98" and I can only imagine what it would be like, to stand there in the crowd and sing along like that *shivers*
To answer your question Juuthena: You could download any and all of their songs really *lol* Some songs are really light and uplifting, whereas others are really dark and saddening. They started off their career fairly upbeat, but they hit a very gloomy place at some point (which is most noticeable in "Songs of Faith and Devotion", I think). But with "Exciter" came a very pleasant and calm sound, for various reasons I suppose.
All of their albums are worth listening through, though. Especially since there's a pretty definite curve of development going on.
Dave Gahan's voice carries across the lyrics so perfectly, but Martin Gore has done a great job singing as well. Though I confess it's somewhat difficult to tell their voices apart, hehe. Martin has this frail strength in his performance and Daves voice is very powerful, with a tint of pain in all the right places. They're both good at putting feel to the words *grins*
If you're looking for an entire album (hehehehe) I'd definitely recommend getting "Exciter" (2001). That album has some of the sweetest tunes you could ever imagine.
And "The Singles 86-98" is also a great buy, since I don't think there's one song I don't like on it *lol*
But... if I were to name one song, out of all the ones they've made... I'd say:
"Somebody" – this song has been a personal favourite for years. It's a gorgeous song, with equally beautiful arrangements. Out of all the songs Depeche Mode has made, this is the one song I always come back to.
Official site with samples of all their songs <--- I really recommend going here and listen through (them all !) a few songs. That way you can get a better feel as to if they're a band you'll like or not *nods*
I am soooo tempted to try out for PT's RPG. It sounds like it could be great fun. But alas, I have never RP'd and I'd rather sit back and read qualified posts from people who know what they're doing :p
James' Matrix RPG should also be good, based on the sheer amount of time and love he's put into research and construction. Good stuff ^__^
Swedish Lesson #6
Hehe, Sarah wanted to get a translation to a Spanish insult. It translated very tame, but I'm sure that it can be used anyway >_>; And this is the only insult I'll do, just so you know ~_^
I'm not really a foul language kind of girl and this was clean enough for me to do, so I did it for Sarah *nods*
Lesson 6 – I shit on your mother
Spelling = Jag skiter på din mamma
I take this opportunity to say that I am really proud of all my students, you're doing great *wipes tear* Everyone gets an A+ from me ! ^__^
SomeGuy gets to clean off the blackboard, because he's special *lol* ;p
Take Care Everyone !
*group hug*
