Give me a ticket to an aeroplane
MC: .... I know you updated recently, but did I comment? It seems that I've a tendency to write a comment, preview it and then close the window without submitting it *head desk* Thanks for that linky ^__^
Becksy: *glomp of eternal fandom* My lips are sealed .... until I've read through it all anyway >:P Then I'll proceed to blabber like a fool about how awesome you are :3
Sarah: We love it when you're bad. I hope you do get a job and get your homework done in time *snuggles*
Shimmy-Loo: O___O I'll keep looking, but thanks. lol
John: I'll invent a time-machine, go forward a couple of years and marry you. Or I'll just stay in this time and fawn over how adorably sweet you are to me :p
Azure: Thankee and, uh, your secret is safe with me. Or something.
Shabam: And it's easier to do small things here and there, as opposed to saving the world and having to buy milk afterwards :p
Boo on the error with the PM's.
I could go on about how certain movies are so hilarious, give quotes as examples as to why I think so and demand that everyone at least gives it a thought the next time they're in the video store .... but not today :p
Eleine went along with mom today to the old apartment, which needs to be cleaned out before any viewings can be scheduled, so Juliette spent the day with me. Much of the time was devoted to playing Bubble Bobble (yay!) and watching movies ("Bubble Boy", "Curse of the were-rabbit"), though I did sneak in some cooking in between the two activities. While we did get a fair bit of work-out from the insane amount of laughing, I felt like going for a walk. To buy candy. Ahem.
The weather outside was really nice, almost spring-like. According to the weather forecasters spring won't be coming any time soon and that makes me sad. Oh well. I'll enjoy the sunshine while waiting for the warmth.
When we'd found the goodies at the store and went to pay for them, there was this woman in front of us with a trolley overloaded with groceries. I'm talking serious grocery mountain here! At one point [while the cashier registered items] she tried to start with packing some of the stuff, since there was hardly any room for anyone elses stuff on the conveyer belt. Me being the service minded person I am couldn't resist helping her out by picking up the remaining groceries up from the trolley and onto the belt. She really appreciated it but I could tell that doing that little favour was like filling up a glass of water to one person when there's 2000 more in line. Why not be a really good samaritan if you're gonna be one? That's what I thought. And offered to help her bag the remaining stuff (which filled about 5-6 paper bags).
This poor woman had never experienced anyone giving her a hand before when she'd done this kind of heavy-duty shopping and was probably quite shocked that I, a total stranger, threw myself so eagerly to her aid XD But she was very appreciative and it was a lot of fun throwing myself into super-helper mode. Service minded? Me? :p
Doing small stuff like that has always made me really happy, though. Some people want to cure cancer or do something big to help out. Me, I'm satisfied with packing groceries or delivering the morning paper to folks. Small and intimate things that still bring plenty of happiness :)
Speaking of happiness: there was a very nice surprise in store for me when I went to withdraw some money earlier today. Cash hasn't been flowing the way it used to lately and I was scraping every penny/cent/öre for the upcoming homeopath visit this month, so imagine my utter astonishment when my receipt said there was close to 5 times more money on my account than last time I checked!!! It's almost 3 months worth of unemployment fundings which finally came through [after much confusement over papers]. With that kind of extra cash I could afford a certain trip but stuff and stuff. Still! Retroactive money is so sweet 8-)
Before I sign off for today, I'd like to apologise to someone who didn't get a reply to their PM. Things were going back and forth on the issue (the web auction) and it felt more sensible to wait until things were settled to answer. At the same time I wasn't even sure if it needed an answer, but there's always common courtesy to uphold.
So thanks. May the Force be with you.
Does anyone know when the myotaku pm's will return to normalicy? It'd be nice to be able to send pm's through here again, ya know.
