For a start, I'm MINASUKI, the name was derived from the japanese word 'Minatsuki' or 'Minazuki', which stands for 'the sixth month of the lunar calendar'... i think that's JUNE ^^ (is it? xD) Well, there are several versions for the name, though.. i would usually say that my name means 'i love everyone' because 'mina' stands for 'everybody or everyone' while 'suki' stands for 'like or love'. But actually, I came up with this name when I was in first year highschool without even knowing the meaning! =P I'll be using the name ITSUKI for a while after being mistaken for a girl for i dunno how many times now!!! =_=" -------------- Update: Finally Updated my site after months of inactivity. But still... this won't let me down! Anyways, about the update on [CoS]: > only page 1 is done.. having a hard time to start doing page 2 since i'm still busy with exams and stuffs > added new concepts/ideas: while Madeleine Hatori is a descenedant of the Jekyl bloodline (can invoke the Hyde EGO within her), and Marcia Haregawa has the gorgon blood coarsing hrough her veins... --- Cheshire Catherina has another alias aside from Cheshire Cat... Puss in Boots. --- Vanity Whiteman also has another alias aside from the White Rabbit/Bunny... Easter Bunny (and yeah I know... these are some weird concepts! After weeks of thinking about the title for my current manga project, I've decided that the title would be: CoS [Circle of Square] I'm still trying to find some connection of the title to the theme/concept to the manga. CoS is actually the name of one of our guild in an online game... but I managed to ask permission from my friend to use that name. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to mind ^_^ Bad News: I haven't found the time to start the Actual Pages to start CoS!!! Good News: Okay.. but I managed to have made draft sketches on some YURI (shoujo-ai)fan art between two characters ^_^ All i need to do is to ink it and make some digital copies in case I'll screw it up again! T_T New Concepts and UPDATES: ~ Disregarded the suit superiority of the Diamonds. There will be no superior suit nor stronger quantitative value of a card (meaning... for example: 2 can be greater, equal or less than 3 --- Cards of value 2-10 have different functions and purposes) ~ Added the 'ACE' term which is a powerful Wonder that only an Ace Flush possess. However, the Ace Flush who uses an Ace Wonder uses more Glass than normal and control of this wonder is not easy. Because an Ace Card has either a value of 1 or 11, the Ace Wonder term was invented by this concept. ~ Still deciding to include a DODO, Caterpillar or Mouse character or not. If I would then this would obviously be an Alice in Wonderland spinoff!!! ~ Since it's no longer titled as "STAR DUST", the manga won't be set mostly on Night time settings (which is good news to may part since I could have a hard time inking and refilling some markers and pens if this were to happen. If not through manual media, I'll still have a hard time in digital media!) The manga is set on a modern day setting, so currently I'm still trying to master perspectives and landscaping (in vain)! Not to mention some fashion trends... (sigh)... that's what I get for sharpening my drawing skills through drawing nude anime girl sketches! T_T (hey, I'm a guy afterall... sheez!) ~ Conceptualized the ACEs of the four main characters: = Madeleine Hatori's 'GLASS sword' = Cheshire Catherina's 'Intangibility ability' = Marcia Haregawa's 'Eye of Beholder' = Vanity Whiteman's 'DARK GLASS' (Black hole) ~ The ALICE can determine or rank the four suits based on his/her judgment. This is the reason of the constant war of the Suits. ~ If a flush is killed, this will upset the balance for all the suits. That is why, though the Flushes battle, they only make sure that their enemies would barely survive so as not to jeopardize their own suit's fate. A flush exists when an Alice exists... therefore a bloodline of a flush can determine when an Alice is born. ~ EDEN (or the so-called "Wonderland") Chapter concepts are still being conceptualized. The Eden Chapters are still so far away... so I'm not concetrating on these yet ^^ Well... that's it for now. Classes are almost over so by the month of March unti the month of June, I'll be free from the shackles of schoolwork and studies!!! Woohooo!!! ^^ Suggestions? Comments? Piece of Mind? So, STAR DUST will no longer be the title of my curent project. Hmmm.... any suggestions out there??? Here are some lame titles i came up with: --- Glass and Wonder (or Glasses and Wonders) --- Circle of Squares --- Royal Flush I guess that's all i could think for now. I desperately need help. Any suggestions on the title would surely be of great help to me. And if this project would become a hit someday (I wish!) I will personally give you the credit of naming this manga that I currently became serious with. ------------------------------------------------- Updates: New Concepts and Terms: --- I've decided to include Tarot Cards (in my own version of course) to the Card Summons. But I'm still not sure whether I am going to add this type of card summons or would rather be associated with the traditional card game (example: 7 would be associated with the Death Card --- since 7 looks like a scythe. Hehe. Welcome to my world where my eyes can "normally see" ^^). --- Term: Wonder(s) = special ability of a Flush (Card Summoner/User) which is unique to him/her. Examples of a Wonder is (The Mad Hatter) Madeleine Hatori's ability to change the form, shape, and appearance of her hat; (The Cheshire Cat)Cheshire Catherina's ability to blend with her surroundings like a chameleon, escape from an almost inescapable situation, and disguise herself to any form she wishes; (The March Hare) Marcia Haregawa's ability to either increase her reflexes and senses when she drinks coffee, or increase her card summoning skills when she drinks liquor or some alcoholic beverage; and (The White Bunny) Vanity Whiteman's ability to stop/slow te flow of time for a few seconds, and ability to open a gate or portal that would either lead to another world [Time magic], summon energy blasts caused by the rift of space, or create a door/window to another location in the same world [Path/Space Magic]. --- Term: GLASS --- Each Flush has a unique GLASS, or energy-spirit shield that protects them from both physical and magical attacks. Therefore, a very sharp weapon could not easily tear their skin and clothes and elemental magic like fire and lightning spells could deal less damage to them unlike to normal humans. GLASS is also used by the body to enable the Flush to control elemental and other forms of magic. Thus, the Flush should keep in mind not to use much of his/her GLASS otherwise there is no longer any protection left for him/her. As it is termd as a GLASS, whenever it is BROKEN (either by over use of magical abilities or from damage from enemy spells or physical attacks), the Flush will receive damage like any ordinary human being. --- Term: Alice = Alice is the term used to call the Chosen One who can enter the legendary land of EDEN. There can only be one ALICE in every three Generations and only those from a bloodline of a FLUSH can be an ALICE. An ALICE doesn't necessarily be a girl but must be below the age of consent (a minor) and a virgin (please don't laugh... hehe)! The task of the ALICE is to restore balance and peace to the Kingdom of different Suits (Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, Clubs), defeat a common enemy, or destroy EDEN itself. After days and weeks of inactivity, melancholic episodes and insomnia, I have found another calling to start a manga with a modern day setting and YURI theme. That's right boys and girls, it's the shoujo-ai genre! But not necessarily a lesbian theme... doi >.< ------------------------------------------------- The following are descriptions and concepts created for my sole benefit as a means of copyright material, created this 2:00 a.m. of the 7th of February 2007. Any concepts such as theme, character name, profile, plot, title, and relative to this project may not be copied, altered or improvised by anyone. Any suggestions or offer of help is, however, accepted and I will personally give you the credit of such contribution if ever this Project would be successful in the near future. (c) Nc 2007 ~member of darkstreet studios~ Title: Star Dust Genre: Action, Supernatural, Comedy, Fantasy, Yuri (shoujo-ai) Plot: A team of four female mercenaries working in a Casino uses the place to acquire information as well as render espionage sevices to probable clients. Gifted with unique talents and special abilities, they enter the scene of the underworld as retrievers, infiltrators, bodyguards, and bounty hunters. But one day changed their lives forever. A girl by the name of 'Alice', started to appear on each of their thoughts, seeking their help. Annoyed and curious about this 'Alice' character at the same time, they began to investigate and only found out mysterious information about her. She was reported missing for almost a year and her whereabouts are still unknown. Two mysterious characters suddenly intervened and warned them to stop their investigation. A duo of brother and sister (twins) with supernatural powers threatened to end their lives if they continue to search for this 'Alice'. They call themselves the king and queen of Hearts; the king, having the ability to conjure illusions, and the queen with the ability to summon minions. Both of them possess the power to summon special minions who embody the the numbers 1 to 10 in an old classic card game (you know, the deck of cards used for Hearts, Solitaire, Black Jack, etc.) each with a corresponding ability (but the rule of superior suit still applies). Refusing to give up on the case, the four persists on their search and every encounter from the king, queen, and the knave of hearts, made them realize their own skills and gradually reveals the true power that lies underneath them. Concept of the traditional Card game is used and the twist of using 'Alice in Wonderland' character names and minor concepts. Main Characters: (that I currently had in mind for the meantime) Cheshire Catherina --- aka Cheshire Cat (magician/escape artist/master of disguise) Madeleine Hatori --- aka The Mad Hatter (swordmaster/magician) Marcia Haregawa --- aka The March Hare (illusionist) Vanity Whiteman --- aka The White Rabbit/Bunny (path mage/time mage) self-imposed deadline of 15 pages of work: within the month of March 2007 Progress: 0.25/15 (conceptualized plots only... haven't started on character designs and the actual drawings) ------------------------------------------------- Finally restored and combined my old Art Style and my own Manga style of work to my Current Styles (style is no longer similar to the mangas i've submitted to this site) after finding some old art of mine that survived over time and was spared from being torn into confetti by me. After an hour of epiphany on using a tool for coloring, I managed to color my Minasuki. Well, the result was not that impressive, however, i just realized i could do more than this since i think i made a pretty good job on my first time using Colors. Now i'm all set to do more future projects! And i'm getting fond of coloring! Weee!!! I'm addicted to it right now! Hehehe... anyways, here's the result of my editing: version 2 is under further sketching for the moment and will be finished maybe this week. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! She's alive! First of all, let me say just one line: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! T_T" Okay i'm done ^^ Weeks of inactivity has brought me to a declined interest in my current manga project. I decided to discontinue Twilight Dawn until i had mastered using all the tools that would make the typical manga shadings and effects. Now to cope up, i allowed myself to be a protege of a local senior cg artist (a close friend of mine and my "MASTER" ^_^). He suggested that i use an application called Manga Art Generator or Marvel Comic Book Creator. It sounds a good idea, but not now... I need to perfect my art style... i have decided on an art style that's unique to me. Well, not really, but I guess it's almost unique. hehe I finished some requests via PM. Well, not exactly. Hehe. It's still under further editing. And about my Current Project? Hmmm.... I have to place Twilight Dawn and another title next to the list of a manga title i thought was gonna be crap. But due to insane ideas, I'll revive Meitantei KURI (the crappy manga i submitted late 2006)! Inspired by the anime Detective Conan, Detective School Q and some others i forgot to remember, I'll make twists and add my usual corny lines and jokes. I've set the deadline: around March-April 2007. I finally got the hang of adding a touch of manga to my works and i'm trying to perfect it. Now all I need is motivation and time to spend working on the pages. Errrmm.... I don't know if it's good enough to be called a portrait of my MINASUKI, but it's still in early draft phase. I only managed to remove most of the dust and some particles caused after scanning. I'm planning to add some color.. and i really don't know if i'm gonna color her hair BLUE or WHITE!!! Waaah! I guess I'll have to make another AG 2 model for MINA with BLUE HAIR! First of All, Let me greet everyone a Happy New Year. I decided to halt my current manga's progress for a month or so due to conflicts with the plots, arrangement of plot's order, and the character designs. And also, my "other selves" are trying to make me do a ComeDrama genre manga instead. Too many complicated thoughts in muh head are taking its toll on me and damn it makes me sleep for only 2 hours a day! >.< I'm workin' on few requests by my sister's friends and if only they don't wear glasses, I could've refused! After all the "activities" I had and planned to do this holiday season, I will make this my last post for the year 2006. But since I'm not good with promises because of my multi-personality complex (don't mind this excuse... I ran out of alibis! >.<), I may post some updates or pages to my Manga Project. I can't believe how slow is my progress in finishing my drafts in ink and editing it. Darn, I have been overshadowed by melancholy and laziness lately and it INVOKED my laziest EGO. The only remedy for this is watching sad and mellow dramatic animes (hmmm... I remembered I cried watching the last episode of Full Moon wo Sagashite!). but I have some good news to myself. It seems that my GLASSES were misplaced by yours truly at my friend's apartment after a session of watching a South Park Marathon. When they said that lunacy is contagious, they sure know what they're saying! I left my glasses in the most obvious place.... beside the monitor. I guess being near-sighted and color blind ("conditionally".. not actually all the time) can have this effect on you. Recently, I'm studying Nihonggo, Latin, and German at the same time. Call it weird, but I'm getting impatient to learn these foreign languages just for hobby's sake. But for Nihonggo, I regard it as a necessity. I love subbed animes in original audio but I really don't like dubbed animes because it could ruin the character's attributes... since voice is an indication and can be used to determine some attributes of a character. No offense to Final Fantasy Fans out there, but I really don't like the way they dub Final Fantasy XII. All of my close friends and most of my (average) friends agree. Well, just an opinion.. I love Final Fantasy (really!) but I'm just a bit disappointed with FFXII.. T_T Wow... imagine how way off the topic can one get when they start to give an opinion. Well, ummm... sorry about my posts which mostly doesn't make any sense 'coz of too much intricate thoughts in muh head (@_@) That's all the update I had in my mind for now. Happy Holidays Everyone!!! For a start, I'm MINASUKI, the name was derived from the japanese word 'Minatsuki' or 'Minazuki', which stands for 'the sixth month of the lunar calendar'... i think that's JUNE ^^ (is it? xD) Well, there are several versions for the name, though.. i would usually say that my name means 'i love everyone' because 'mina' stands for 'everybody or everyone' while 'suki' stands for 'like or love'. But actually, I came up with this name when I was in first year highschool without even knowing the meaning! =P I'll be using the name ITSUKI for a while after being mistaken for a girl for i dunno how many times now!!! =_=" -------------- Update: Finally Updated my site after months of inactivity. I was busy with school and I usually visit my devart account too often. I lost my G-L-A-S-S-E-S!!! WAAAAAAH!!! T_T Hmmm.... sounds like a good alibi to me.. hehe. Well, seriously, I did LOSE them and, although I don't need them to sketch, the psychological influence they had on my "imagination" is very beneficial on my part, so losing them is like losing my "imagination"! Sounds weird, neh? Hmmff... I blame our hang over at my friend's apartment where we spent the night watching a "South Park Marathon" (My friend downloaded seasons 8-10.. i think) and the "vocabulary" still tickles my funny bone right now. Due to so much laughter and too much caffein and studying Vector Art, we woke up like hungry bears at around 11am, while some of us were still watching some few episodes...... but that's them. I only slept for an hour though but I did wake up hungry. I spent all night studying Vector Art. Well, thank god for insomnia ^_^ Back to the Project... ummm... i'm getting lazy again. And obviously it's a trait of mine whose only solution is motivation and threat. Since I'm not threatened and all, and also I got no motivation for the moment, I spent some days watching youtube, playing DotA, eating, sleeping, and all other bunch of unproductive stuffs. And oh yeah, I also spent all these days wondering what Santa would give me for christmas! (Hey, I believe in Santa! Whaat? There's no Santa?! Waaaaaah T_T) Well, if jolly ol' Saint Nic does exist, I could only think of one great gift he would give me this christmas.... I wanna MEET MINASUKI as a real person (preferably Japanese! =P) (kidding!) I wanna see my special someone again. (Ummm.. not a ghost or anything!
