The Uber Cycle of Existence

Title is total randomocity. Extra cookies to those who get the reference (shouldn't be hard).

Sooooo... yep. Haven't been around, I know. Only really been logging in to spam comment on the podcast.
This time around though, it is because of schoolwork. I have a couple of big projects due in the next two weeks: a cultural presentation for Japanese and my research paper draft for English. Plus, there's the added poop papers from College Success. I have NO idea what I'm going to do for this week's "mission"... crap.
BUT! Enough of that! Homework can wait until I finish this post.

Let me share a little story from last Wednesday. Twas at school (of course); typically, after I get out of my College Success class, I go to a room up in the library to meet up with friends. When I went that day, there was also this one other person that I'm finding I really don't care for too much. He's... well, just annoying. You'll understand in a bit.
So yes, we all congregated in this one room. Everyone (but me) proceeded to get out their laptops, while I ate lunch. This John Doe man then started playing a flash game on his computer.

And wouldn't you know it? It was a game where you get to chase down little girls and rape them. Yup, great fun. Oh, and guess what else you can do? You get to choose whether you allow her to orgasm or not! Isn't that the best?

The worst part was, the volume was up pretty damn high. It really got on my nerves. As soon as someone else said, "Could you please turn that down?", I jumped all over it.

Me: "Yes, please turn it down. I don't need to hear a little girl's orgasms."

John Doe: "Oh, I'm not letting her orgasm."

Me: "Either way, keep it down. Not all of us want to hear that. Yeah..."

At one point, some comment was made by this John Doe that I wasn't as "hardcore" as the rest of our little anime posse.
Well, if hardcore means enjoying child rape games, then thank the Lord Almighty I am not hardcore! That is one of the things I really despise about the little otaku subculture; that there are actually people out there that play those types of games, or watch those types of animes, etc. It's really disgusting and creepy.
I like anime for the art of it; the story, the characters, the overall feel. I don't think being "hardcore" should mean participating in pedophilic acts, thank you very much.

After that, I decided I really don't care for John Doe. I'll just have to not initiate any conversation with him from now on.

Hmmm, maybe I shall address this issue in the podcast.
Welp, that's all from me today. Ta all!

Sucky

Oi. How I would love to vent about what my brother has been like this past week. However, I shall hold myself back, simply because I am tired of talking about it. Already gave my sister an earful, thank you very much. :P

So, how've you all been? Or rather, how are you right now?
I myself have been needlessly stressing myself out over schoolwork. Maybe I just care a bit too much... I almost hope I could get a B one of these days, just so I won't have to worry so damn much over the littlest things. But, then again, I've always been like that. Blah...

At least there's good news! .hack//G.U.+ manga is out this month! Weeeeeee!
To be exact, it's being released 02/12/2008. So fangirl happy! *dances*

On that positive note, I shall leave you now as I go off to do more research. Ta ta!

Oh, and yes Alla, s-CRY-ed banner. Bask in its goodness. DRASTIC MY SOUL.

Oh wow, I'm still alive... huh...

Yes, I actually am still among the living. Geez, it's been awhile, huh? I'd like to use schoolwork as an excuse for my absence, but that would only be half-true.

The other reason is cause I've been participating in geeky things. Namely, a Pokemon RP. My own sister believes I have fallen to a new low because of it, but I don't care. It's been a lot of fun, and has consequently taken up quite a bit of time. But hey! I get to play the hot woman that's in love with the villain! AND it's Pokemon! :D
That counts for something, right?

.... right?

....

*dies*

Also, haven't been around cause I'm just plain lazy. There, I admitted it. :P
But, I missed theO and myO. I shall try to go about and catch up on the news now. (Well, at least the news from myO.)
Hope you've all been well. Ta then!

It's Great To Learn!

It's 10:00 PM, I have a half-written English paper that's due tomorrow, and I've been on the computer for 10 hours.
Time for a myO post! :o

For once, I actually have semi-interesting news! Crazy, no?
See, I've been trying to do writing homework all day. One of the projects I had to do was a weekly "mission" assignment for College Success. Completely BS class, but I'm actually quite happy I took it now, if only for this one reason.

Every week, I have to do these "missions," all the available choices having already been listed in the syllabus. A lot of them are, of course, BS. Some of the missions include filling out a transfer application or a four-year university packet (which seem easy enough), while others are a bit out of the way, such as visiting some conference or other at the college you want to get into.
Being me, I procastinated throughout the weekend to even pick one of these missions to do. As Sunday came around, I finally realized my folly. My reaction? "Crap." I have to say, these "missions" don't endear me to the class. It's basically extra work I really don't need.

So the strategy I took as to how I would complete this assignment was as follows: "Pick the easiest thing and get it out of the way." Which I did, and I'm quite happy with what I ended up choosing.
The mission? "Write a resume of your current education and experience AND write another resume listing all the things you will need to have accomplished if you are to get your dream job." Also required is a reflection paper. Lovely.
Provided was a link to something like a "career exploration website" (http://www.bls.gov/oco/oco1002.htm). I wasn't quite expecting to see "Translator" up there, but I did. Well, that shut me up.
Technically, it was on "Interpreters and Translators," but either way it was a great help. I've been trying to find out what requirements I need in order to become a professional translator, and now I know; or at least have a better idea.

Of course there's the obvious "be fluent in two languages" part. I'll also be needing a bachelor's degree, some job-specific training programs, and other various qualities such as general business skills and a background in computer science.
I'm excited. Very much so. In fact, I shall use a smilie to prove my excitedness. ---> :3 <---

Who woulda thunk that such a BS class would actually help me out this much? Now I'll have to tell people, "If it weren't for College Success, I never would've become a Japanese translator."
... well, whateva! Still happy. :3

And now it's 10:30; best be getting back to that English paper. G'night all!

Trivial Post Time!

I've been listening to the same song over and over the past 24 hours. I am not even kidding. I don't think I've ever done that.
What song could be so epic as to keep my devoted attention? "The Girl from Byakkoya" by Susumu Hirasawa. If you've seen the movie Paprika, then that was the ending credits song.
It is very good. Probably the best purchase I've ever made on iTunes. I think it's up to almost 100 listens on le iPod at this point.

And that was the exciting news of the day. Ta for now then!

No Subject.... Blah

Crap, I think someone messed with the poll again. There's no way there could be a dead-even four-way tie between all the choices. -_-

Other than that, still got lots of schoolwork to do. Just droppin' in to see how everyone's doing.
Ta then!

Thank the Lord for Ice!

It happened again. There was a paper due in English class today that I didn't find out about till 3 hours before class.

But man, thank goodness for ice! It snowed yesterday and then apparently last night while I was sleeping, so the roads were made untraversible. I swear, it must've been God lookin' out for me. Because of the ice, I didn't leave when I normally would (8:30 AM), so I had time to find out about the li'l assignment and write the whole danged-thing too.
(Also really helps that I had just read one of the chapters in our English book last night, as that had to do with the paper.)

And just as I finished writing the assignment, lo and behold! The sun came out and started melting the ice!
I don't think I've ever been so grateful for cold weather before. Thank you, God. :)

A full serving of Busy with a side of Stress this evening.

My, I haven't posted in awhile. Well, school started. I could've posted sometime last week, but I got distracted. Yeah, that never happens...

Anyway, I'm posting this now at the school to let you guys know I'm still alive. Sorta. I have a LOT of work to do over the next couple days, so I likely shan't be around. Apparently, I had about 110 pages to read in this one book for English class over the weekend, but I never knew until I looked at my syllabus last night. Oh, and class is tomorrow. *cries tears of pain*
Plus, I still have to complete a couple papers for College Success which are due Wednesday... crap.

Wish me luck, friends! >.<

School Preparations 2: Online Fury

Tomorrow's the day, my friends. I shall return to that place, Cascadia Community College. Or "Cascadia Daigaku", as I keep thinking it. *w00ts for Japanese class*
I was getting a tad worried last night about the whole online class thing. But earlier today, I (finally) logged in to the site and found an announcement from my professor basically saying, "We'll go over this in class Tuesday."
Hah. All that little worrying for nothing. I think I stress over things too much sometimes. Perhaps another thing I could work on this year, hmm?

On a lighter ending note, there's a Final Fantasy VI doujinshi up on eBay that I really want, but can't afford. *cries* Gashsplurned Celes and Locke, being all cute and stuff...
Ta then, my pretties.

School Preparations

Winter quarter starts this coming Monday. Even though I got at least four weeks of break, it felt pretty short... oh well. I don't actually mind going to the college or classes themselves; it's usually the English homework. I have issues with procrastination, and that tends to come out badly when English work comes along... although I've somehow managed to pull something off each time.

Be positive though, right? Part of my English class will be online this quarter, so that'll be a new experience; shouldn't be too hard. Now I just gotta freshen up on my Japanese and start waking up earlier. xP

Ta then!
