Hark! Over Yonder! Tis the New Year!
For some reason, a new year makes me feel more depressed rather than happy. Strange, I know.
I'm not really one to make New Years resolutions, at least not seriously. But I did think of some things I could try to get better at:
- Be more positive, lose the negative.
- Spend less money, save it instead!
- Generally keep up with politics.
Thanks goes to timechaser for reminding me about the whole politics thing.
We shall see in the coming months just how well I keep these little resolutions.
Everyone, give me strength!

Za Buruu Haatsu
Man, FFVI sure is addicting...
Anywho, for the first time ever, Miss A is hosting a Comment Feedback Session! Let us begin:
Nehz: Usually I get my sister a Christmas and birthday present; but the Beauty and the Beast DVD was so expensive, couldn't afford it. I too hate when a December baby gets "joint" birthday/Christmas presents just cause they're so close together.
SomeDude: Tis SomeDude's job to talk a lot, though, so keep it up.
And ha, the Linda Linda thing was funny. Perhaps a sign that you should listen to more of The Blue Hearts? :P
Harley: The Linda Linda song can be found off The Blue Hearts Linda Linda single, or the USA collection, or the Super Best CD... yeah, popular song. You could buy the CD off Amazon, or get it for much cheaper on iTunes if you have that.
Oh, and nope, no specific plans for New Years; just gonna sip some of the bubbly stuff (as in sparking apple cider).
Oneesan: HA! My plan worked! Silly Ducky. *poke*
----------------
On to some news! Today was a special day at church, for it was Youth Sunday. Yup, the kids from the Sunday School were the ushers, did announcements, etc. My friend, Brock, had to do the announcement, and man was he nervous. lol
Also, the youth pastor Brian did the sermon today. He too was nervous. The message was a good one though: Remembering God. Tis a thing we often forget.
At the end of the sermon, he let people stand up and say something they were thankful to God for. I actually did one that I thought of last night. Water. I can drink straight from the tap at my house and it tastes fine. When I went down to my uncle's place in Oregon a couple weeks ago, their tap water was nasty, couldn't drink the stuff.
Then it got me to thinking that other people are just thankful to have ANY water, let alone clean water. It seems like such a simple thing, but it's so vital to our lives.
That's my little lesson of the day.
Welp, that's all folks! Ta then.

Post-Christmas Special
No Christmas poem. Really, is anyone surprised?
I blame it on Ouendan and Final Fantasy VI, 'cause placing blame on other things is just so much fun. :P
Plus, SomeDude's poem was outstanding. He deserves another round of applause. *w00ts for him*
All my gifts were a success! I mentioned I got one of my older brothers the entire Samurai Champloo series (along with my parents' help). Well, I'm pretty sure he loves it. When he saw it, he commented on how expensive it must've been. I guess that's a good sign. :P
Mother dear received a $100 Nordstroms gift card from all four kids (really with money from just my sister and me). Again, the too-expensive reaction came. Of course, she says that every year we get her anything worth $100 or more.
My other brother got The Legend of Zelda DS game, which he requested specifically. So he liked it, but it was no big surprise. Heck, I'll take that!
Finally, Daddy was presented with at least 20 CDs of classical music (from big sister and me again). A very definitive collection indeed! He really liked that. He popped in one of the CDs right after the gift-giving ceased.
All in all, very successful year. My sister didn't get anything from me on Christmas 'cause I gave her Beaty and the Beast for her birthday, just a week before Xmas.
I'm not going to list what I got for Christmas, for then I would feel like I was being self-absorbed...
But, you can check out my comment in the recent OOP, for I listed them all there. I can say that I got Ouendan 1 and 2 for the DS and Final Fantasy VI Advance for GBA. Three new games to keep me distracted till school starts. Oh, what fun it shall be!
Also, one of the things I got was an iTunes gift card. I spent it all on The Blue Hearts songs. Their most popular song is Linda Linda, in case you need a reference. Man, they have some darn catchy songs!
That's all from me then. Again, feels like a bunch of uninteresting nonsense, but meh. *shrugs*
Ta then!

Christmas Eve! My, how time flies!
Why do I get the feeling that I always post about the most inane things I possibly could? I really do have other subject matter, honest! And it seems like good stuff too. I just never get around to posting it. -_-
But, enough with the negativity! TIS CHRISTMAS EVE! Heh, I am reminded of the Muppet song "One More Sleep 'Til Christmas."
Indeed, there are things to be done today in order to fully enjoy tomorrow's events: Wash sheets (check), vacuum, shower, send ecards to friends (check), etc.
However, those are minor things. At least my Christmas shopping is DONE. In fact, I'm quite pleased with what I got everyone, which is a super feeling. I can't wait for my brother to open up the Samurai Champloo boxset. (b^.^)b
Mother is baking pies, classical Christmas music is playing (thanks to Father), and the spirit is in plentiful amounts! I'm quite excited now.
In fact, I was planning on writing a little Christmas poem for today's post. Of course, after thinking that, I come to find that SomeDude and a few others were planning the same thing. Perhaps a case of great minds thinking alike?
We shall see if I really will end up posting that poem though. O Bald One, give me strength!
God Bless & Merry Christmas |

Two weeks
Only two weeks till Christmas. I can't believe it! Doesn't really feel like ma family's been celebrating it... which sucks. :/ Oh well, once oneesan gets back it should start getting Christmafied around here.
At least I'm tryin' to spread the Holiday Cheer with my site here. Got a neat little Christmas background from Vladstudios.com, plus a very special .hack Balmung theme straight from CC2's website. Heh, I'll probably be lazy and keep it up for awhile too. Enjoy! :3
In other news, I've been rewatching Escaflowne. What can I say? I felt like it. Watching it again reminds me just how much I dislike Allen (even with Miki's shmexy voice). :/ He seems to demean Hitomi quite often. Plus, I like Van a whole lot more, which might also be a factor...
But yes! Hoping to finish the series by Thursday night; and with only 12 episodes left, I should be able to accomplish such a task.
That's all from me today. Au revoir!

Ikimashou!
I'M BACK!
Yes, I know. I've been quite inactive lately. I feel very saddened by this myself. I've missed out on quite a bit of theO news, not to mention myO friends' news.
But never fear! For I am now on break! I shall do my best to become active again. *bows*
Man, I feel like I have tons of things to say, yet so little time to say 'em. Let's start with school business first.
One of the most horrific things that has ever happened in my life occurred last Monday. At the time, I was working on both an oral presentation and my final portfolio for English. Let the record show that said portfolio was worth 50% of my grade. For some idiotic reason, my brain had recorded the due date for the portfolio as Wednesday, December 5th. Instead of working on finishing up the second out of two papers I needed for it, I worked on the presentation.
Lo and behold! As I went into class Monday, freakin' nervous over giving my first oral presentation ever (yeah, go homeschool!), my teacher said, "Okay! Everyone got their portfolios ready?" Such a thing seemed impossible. I stared at him, thought he was joking. But no, it was due THAT DAY!
I couldn't help it. I started crying. I had to leave the classroom (which luckily hadn't started yet) and did what any distraught child would do: called Mother. Instead of receiving sympathy, she simply told me to get my butt into gear and half-ass a portfolio by the end of the day (although she didn't say it in those exact words).
After leaving the bathroom into which I had fled, I encountered my teacher. I don't know if it should be chalked up to me having been a good student or to the fact that the weather had been terrible that day and so had kept many a classmate from coming, but he said I could take til Wednesday to submit my portfolio.
Oh goodness gracious! God must have been watching over me that day! Still, I was quite rattled after that, which made it harder to be coherent in my presentation, which I seemed to ramble about a bit too much. Either way, I was able to successfuly submit my final portfolio (one paper on anime, one reflective, and one synthesis concerning women's social status) on Wednesday. Turns out I did pretty well on the presentation too, as I got a 91/100.
Now comes the wait to see what my final grade will be. Gosh, I'm just glad he gave me that second chance. That was one of the worst feelings I've ever experienced, that feeling of utter FAILURE, all over a mixing up of the dates.
And that, ladies, gents and furries, was my college-horror story this quarter. Wonder if next quarter's will top it.
Not really any other interesting school news. I'm quite confident I aced Japanese and Math 095, so there's not really much to talk about there.
It's time to move on to trivial matters then! *w00ts to that*
In .hack news, a new .hack manga was announced by CyberConnect2 some time ago: ".hack//LINK." Considering it's going to be a manga directly from CC2 (which typically only deals in video games) makes it a big deal. Linkage: http://www.cc2.co.jp/hack_link/hack_link.html
And, to update ".hack//G.U. Trilogy" news, the release date has been pushed back to March 25th due to the fact that the movie will now be premiering in theaters in Japan. Darn Japanese, they get all the fun stuff. Also worthy of note, the movie poster seems to be by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Quite nice, I must say. Linkage: http://www.cc2.co.jp/trilogy/news/news.html
Specific .hack news in my case: I've apparently spent $230 on .hack doujinshi alone. Wow. I couldn't help it, the anthologies were just too cool! Plus, got ".hack//Roots DVD 5" awhile ago, have yet to watch it. Also considering whether to preorder the ".hack//G.U. Trilogy" DVD or not. I don't know if any device in my home would allow me to play it, what with all the region protections. To use my new favorite catchphrase, "We shall see."
Other random news: I started playing "Final Fantasy IX" again. I got to about halfway through Disc 3 last time when I stopped. I really like the game, so I decided to replay it. Such actions drove me to purchase the FFIX OST, OST+, and Piano collections CDs on iTunes. I swear, I'm going to be so bad at handling money when I get older.
To keep in the thread of video game news, I just found the delight that is "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!" I've been in love with "Elite Beat Agents" forever now, and finally decided to check out what "Ouendan" looked like on YouTube.
As soon as I saw the stage with "Shounen Heart," I was sold. I'm asking for both "Ouendan" games for Christmas (with HUGE hints, no less). Now all that's left to do is obsess over it and cross my fingers while doing so.
Phew...
For now, that seems to be all the news comin' my way. I will be going down to Oregon next Friday to pick up my sister (as that's when she's finally on break), so that's exciting. Until then, I shall attempt to catch up on theOtaku news. Ta!

Procastination Nation: The Sequel!
Good news, everyone!
My English teacher liked my synthesis draft! We had some one-on-one time Monday and he said it was a very good synthesis, just needs some fine tuning.
That is the most awesomest thing I could've heard. I'm definitely using this paper in my final portfolio. Plus, since the paper doesn't need too much improvement, I have more time to devote to my other assignments.
Hahah, procastination nation! :P *poketh*
More good news! I finished the skit script for Japanese! Very good, considering I need to get down to memorizing my lines and all. That part should be quite easy, I'm very good at memorizing. The main issue will be acting, methinks. Again, shouldn't be a big problem. I'll just force my sister to help me, since she's coming over for the weekend (Thanksgiving and whatnot).
Welp, I'm gonna get back to work while I continue to listen to Sekai no Yakusoku. Lovely song, it's from Howl's Moving Castle. You should all take a listen. ;P
I truly wish to catch up on mah friend's business. I think I shall get that chance tomorrow. Again, we shall see.

Creative juices hit a dam.... damn....
Yay for not dying! *w00ts to that*
Anyway, on to business.
Guess what I got to agonize over today?
That's right! Homework! Not just any homework, English homework!
And not just any English homework, but a synthesis paper! *w00ts-errr... unw00ts to that*
My brain must've been spoofing all day, cause I couldn't concentrate worth beans. -_- I hate that. Spending hours just staring at the computer screen, unable to think of a coherent sentence, let alone a paragraph.
But then, my brain fog finally leaked out of one of the many holes in my head, and I was able to write it out! *w00ts to that* I'm just finishing it up right now. Luckily it's just being submitted for a peer review at class tomorrow, so I still have plenty of time to work on it before submitting the final product.
Still, I quite dislike this style of writing. I had plenty of time to write the paper, but I procrastinated.
Ahhhh, procrastination. How well I know thee! Thou knewest my father and my brother, and now I know thee as well.
Blarrrgh, at least the gashsplurned thing is just about done. I'm so tired... stupid computer screen with your brightness settings and... stuff. *pokes*
In other news, I shall be catching up on teh busyness soon enough. I am going to get rather busy with school soon, what with my final portfolio for English and my skit for Japanese. These lapses in activity will probably be a regular thing until all that work gets finished. We shall see...

5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
Two hours left...
Two hours left until I win the Beauty and the Beast 2-disc DVD on eBay. >.< Wish me luck everyone!
If I win, I'll be making my sister a very happy birthday girl.
(Hope she doesn't read this post. >.>)
God Bless
UPDATE: I won the item!
It was gashsplurned expensive though: $66.00. >.O Ouch. But, it's worth it. I know Robin will love it. Just gotta make sure she doesn't try to buy it between now and December 18th.
-_- Stupid Disney and their vault. I'm gonna destroy that thing one o' these days! |

Good News, Bad News.
Yesterday was filled with both goodness and sadness.
Goodness first: I got yet another .hack doujinshi! Yes, I know, nerd muffin alert, blah blah blah. It was pretty funny, not as good as the other doujins I have though. :/
Sadness time: I went to the doctor for a follow-up concerning my... errr, well, my nail fungus. >.> I had been there before about a week ago to see what was up, and so yesterday I went to get the results back.
As it turns out, I do have nail fungus, so I can now get a prescription for it. However, she (the doctor) also told me I have a slight enzyme increase in my liver, which is caused when there's pressure around the stomach area. Basically, she was saying, "You're fat, lose some weight."
I already knew this, but it still feels a bit depressing to hear it from someone else. -_- Almost like it's official now. I'm gonna try cutting back on fatty foods, food in general, and soda. Then we'll see if my school schedule shall permit me to work out on a regular basis.
*le sigh* At least I got another doujinshi in the mail just now. Ummm, yay?
*cries*
